looks like we can now use it folks :)
Also, we are pleased to inform you that the option to order a Wirecard
physical Matsercard is now available to our customers in Ireland.

For an annual fee of EUR 24.90 (plus a shipping fee of EUR 5.00), Wirecard
will issue you a MasterCard in the classic credit card format (plastic), which
also works on a prepaid basis. The classic MasterCard is valid for 1 year.

With your personal MasterCard, you can make purchases from 24.7 million
merchants around the world. In addition, you can withdraw your credit as cash
in the local currency with your personal PIN at more than 900,000 ATMs
worldwide. This way, you can use all classic credit card functions -- easily
and safely on a prepaid basis.

In order to order the classic MasterCard please go to www.mywirecard.com and:

    - Login to your account with your user name and password.
    - Click on "MY MASTERCARD" and follow the link "Order MasterCard now" and the
    additional instructions.

Within ten working days, you will receive your personal plastic MasterCard as
well as a PIN for withdrawing cash.
Please do not hesitate to contact us again should you have any further
    questions.

Strange how it's only valid for a year as opposed to the virtual cards 2 year validity. Does anyone know, once the year/2 years is up, will we get new wirecard account/card numbers or just a new expiry date?

No mention of any government tax?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,854 ✭✭✭✭cormie

That's the only info I got so I'm not sure. There's usually €40 govt tax on Irish CC's, yeah?

Maybe since it's not issued in Ireland it's not applicable :)

I just got my new plastic wirecard last week. It is valid for 2 years and I got ti 5 days after ordering it online with my card password a few days later, not sure about the Irish goverment fee on it so far.

Another question for any of you who have a wirecard account, have you been able to phone their phone numbers in Germany as I have not been able to reach them

Would be good of you could log in to your WireCard and just ''call'' the money from your Irish account to your German one.

    Wishful thinking!

It takes an average of 5 - 7 days to credit any transferred funds to your Wirecard account unless you do a same day payment, which costs about 13 euro and it could still take Wirecard 4 days to see this payment so is a waste of time and money as they dont really care:D

I just got it all set up there, and when i went to add a card to deposit money, it wont let me add my AIB Laser card:(

So i take it you cant use Laser cards with this?

    edit:

oh wait, under "Wire Transfer" it lets me add details like IBAN etc, (which i have for my Laser) is this the right way to go?

Wirecard doesnt accept Laser as a form of payment, to do a IBAN payment you need to log into AIB Internet Banking site and enter Wirecards IBAN and the rest of the details.

2 ways to do it - over 4 days which will be seen after 7 days or Urgent which should be seen in 3 or 4 days

depositing money on Friday evening, Saturday or Sunday will all only be actioned on Monday at the earliest, and I'd allow all that week and the next before you get worried.

Best to ask your bank for the value date for your payment to Wirecard therefore you will have an idea when the funds will be available.

Value dates don't really make a difference, every transaction I've made has been valued the next day but has taken various amounts of time to show up :(

To be allowed to that you have to prove who you are and send them details. They'll tell you all they need.

I've had 2 large enough payments "reserved" for over 2 weeks now, I thought if the money wasn't taken within 7 days, it couldn't be taken again or something? I hope whatever the reason, my card wont be blacklisted by the seller as dodgy?

Do an international money transfer using the IBAN and BIC of your Wirecard account. You will need to add Wirecard as a beneficiary on your online banking.

I think the account you make the transfer from must be the one that you have registered on your Wirecard account or otherwise it will be seen as a third party payment which cannot be accepted to an uncertified account. I am not 100% sure though as things have changed since I set it up.
