To be honest all in all the nights I have been to in Radio City have generally been very good which is why I have kept going back again, tanx to the likes of SENNAN who for my money is well better than that xray thing. I don't think that it's a theme, as in regular gangs of scum at these things.
On a lighter note one of my mates dropped a 'something' on the dance floor and this fella from Wicklow was down on the ground like a Truffle Pig looking for it, it was gas. He was well gone, talkin crazy talk he was, had to get away from this mad thing. He was biggish with a blue shirt, anyone kop him?
The next gig will be another success with Dublin based DJ's and hopefully there will be no trouble and as for popcorn RAVERRO808 you just explained what I already thought as I know this rasher I used to hang around with years ago who goes there (x gear head who re-invented himself as a 'raver')and would fit your description down to a 'T'.

I remember him well man, was standing with ya when that happened, i had never seen that fella before...

Yeah that popcorn does be full of em alright, they even have an in house needle exchange, and a wacky key cutting service...oh and a lacoste stall...;)

Yeah Ive been to some kips in my time, but nothing I have ever been to has compared to that cess pool of dirt that is popcorn,I wouldnt mind its suppose to be real uber-trendy,stylish cool dude modern house music night and is themed as such, but its full of the biggest scumbags Dublin has to offer, maybe someone could clarify,I heard radio city banned it coz of all the grief it was causing?

If you want a good oldskool night or dance themed night,I strongly recommend the nights run by suburban sound boys Ken Gardinar and Darragh Kelly, really well organised, great emphasis on the tunes, always a good buzz, and full of scumbags like meself(but sound respectable scumbags:D)
There a trance night on this saturday, never into trance at all,but I'll go and try and broaden my horizons

It wasnt because of that, sure radio city were making a ****ing killing of popcorn... its there highest earning night of the week is sunday!

I have never been but the baldy butcher bloke who runs it promotes it very well to his credit, It is advertised to be cool and trendy and to honest i was shocked myself when i heard it was full of dirtbags....
Partly the reason why i didnt go...... Most part cause the music is bit to cheesy for my liking!

What happened was it got so full of scum that one night the coppers raided it and found few big names in there that i wont be mentioning on here but all i can say is you wouldnt start **** with his blokes....
Seemingly half the cavern on that night was full of the lowest of lowest scum in dublin along with the most dangerous gangsters aswell....
So they called a hault to it for a little while...
Its now opened up again under the name "Xclusive Sundays" and you need to be a member to enter now!
Probably tryin keep some of the ****ebags out... And you cant blame them and still you have to credit them for trying aswell!!!

Popcorn isnt my thing but i have to say it is promoted very very well, i mean they have regulars going in each and every sunday payin what 15-20 quid or somethin???
To see the same bloke dj every week?
    Credit were its due

Great tune. Don't remember it though. I'd imagine it was big in Sides in the early days, it's got that real house groove to it.

Someone must have a copy of it? :D:confused:

I dont want to draw it out,but in regards to popcorn having big gangsters present,my reply to that would be,theres more intelligence under a rock were a loada slugs live then in that popcorn kip, none them yokes have the brains to b gangsters, just aload of petty car thieves and handbag robbers in and out of the joy,you had to have been at it to fully understand the magnitude of the scum present, thnak god its gone anyway, not bad idea.having it as membership only

Anyone else going the trance night Saturday,I know Brian M and Luke areant:rolleyes:

Yep that would be about right i would say.....never in Popcorn but by the sounds of it ive come across this type before.....Egotistical nancy boys that keep gettin caught sellin drugs or whatever & that the fact they keep doing spells inside makes them hard men.....mate of mine always said its the dummys that get caught all the time & end up inside.....these type of spoon heads really are brain dead as all that posturing & posing trying to be somehow better than the guy next to you is back to primal instincts like two dogs pis.sing on the same tree to make out they are the better dog & they own it & then having a scrap about it when they get to close to each other......Neanderthal man is more accurate http://www.mikedust.com/history/neanderthal.html

    Quick joke for ya:

    Q. What do you call an egg in a robbed car ?

    A. A mad yoke:D

Haven't heard this tune in years, 10 years or more, but it's been playing in my head for some time now, it goes like this,

    in a Girls voice,

time to look through the light to find the right derection , change the lite,
Na Na Na Na baby , Na Na Na Na baby,

not sure of the exact wording of the song,
it's a house tune with piano in it,

I think near the end a girls voice says ,
something for your mind, body and your soul

    any ideas??????????????????????????????????

Heres a mix you will get a buzz out of Caff just in case you miss it....some really old sh.it on here:D
Here is side B of the tape with the wishdocta on it.....this is the first Rave tape i got way back in 1991 off a mate from milltown called Daisy in the OLYMPIC.....loads of samples from films & famous people in there.....The running man, The Life of brian, The Warriors, Malcolm X.

Ha. I think that's the first mix tape I ever had too. Brought back a lot of memories listening to it. I have a compilation album at home from Kickin Records that features a few of the tracks from that mix tape. Artists like, Wishdokta, The Scientist, Messiah, etc. Must dig it out.

Pity you only have one side of the mix tape though, I'm nearly sure there's a track on the other side that I've been looking to get for years but it's just an instrumental and it'd be impossible to describe.
Did the other side have Android by The Prodigy on it?

Here is side A of that tape but the style is completley different to the B side & no prodigy on it.....it was just a recorded tape i got from a mate in 1991 i would say the two sides are from completley different sources....

Track at 16:30 is a cracker OLYMPIC tune from way back & i would reckon it was played in SIDES the same time it has that feel to it......
Another great track i heard in the OLYMPIC a few times is at 35:00 into the mix think its called SO REAL - NEW POWER GENERATION
Most tunes on it you will know already though......

    http://www.mediafire.com/?8xxx93tlgya

I have a track from 1990 thats an instrumental i will upload for ya maybe the one you want but needle & haystack are two words that spring to mind:D

And yeah needle in a haystack!! :D

Yeah great track and an Olympic anthem although I doubt it would've been played in Sides doesn't seem like their style.

I know all the other stuff on that A side but it definitely wasn't the A side to the original tape that I had, not underground enough.
