As for what I actually do in clubs, as opposed to discos, I usually just chat to randomers. I only really dance if I've been drinking. I can't dance.

Sure that covers about 90% of those out there. I make no bones about it when i say i'm hitting the floor i actually say i'm hitting the dance imitation floor.

i think i would really hate doing this! kids grow up way too fast. wouldn't be keen not only seeing what shenanigans theyr'e up to but having to stop it. Ick.

There's a little path by the Dodder just off of Donneybrook which I have to walk through to get home. The amount of times I've walked along there and there's been kids from Wesley gettin up to no good along there. One time it was real early and still bright when I saw a couple there. It's not like they try to keep it hidden!

Feel uncomfortable and try to leave as soon as I can.

I don't go to a lot of discos. Or nightclubs for that matter.

I just drink drink drink. But I'm THE dancer on the night.
I used to think that the drunken fools that couldnt dance being first up on the floor were laughable so I changed that and started being the first one and getting everyone to join.

Its a great laugh and it kinda gives ya celebrity status for the night.
    I never get tired.

Oh he has, many times. Many black eyes, few broken teeth, and so on. Doesn't stop him though. As long as he 'wins' most of the time he's content. I've tried engaging him in conversation about it many times but he has no explanations to give. Oh well!

This is why I gave up on the pub culture/scene a good while ago. Now it's just regular Metal/Rocker bars for me (which alarmingly are in short supply) You need to straighten him out, a quickly as you possibly can. It's a bigger thing to do (walking away) than engaging in fights.

It's a very long time since I went to discos, but I would buy myself a glass of water, make it last all night by leaving it at a particular table and sipping from it when needed - and I would dance all night. Then of course it was the 80s and you could actually dance to the music that was out. Also you can no longer leave a drink unattended.

A friend of mine was drugged at a gay bar recently. No one knew it happened, but he had fun with it because he was safe with the group he was with.

It's good to go out with friends you can trust.

you have to wonder though where they get their good liquor. supervised one a couple years ago - they paid me off with absinthe. i asked no questions.

So at Discos i just prop the bar up, and drink and drink till its over. Its usually my mates draggin me out and im just not bothered as i know how "****" its gonna end. I suffer with Depression and the whole experience makes me feel so ****e. On the rare occassions that i do feel "good" things never seem to work out.

I cant dance, well i havnt since a brother of a friend laughed at my crazy moves. Kinda ****ed up my confidence in the whole being drunk and dancing thing. which is ****ed up i know as the whole point of getting drunk and dancing is to let go.

Im **** at talking to girls, and being jobless and living at home is like having a huge weight round your neck all the time.

So its Go to bar->drink->go to bar->drink->repeat

My so called mates just **** off and do there own thing i cant blame them relaly **** if i knew me id ignore me...
    re drink

i reccomend 1 or two straightners then stay off the drink
wait till every one is a bit drunk then go find a sober girl and chat to her

you will seem cool and sophostiocated compared to the sweaty fools that have been pouring in the drink like there is no tomorrow

don't be looking to get anything from her but a bit of a chat and mabey a smile

then give her your number before you leave which you do before she gets too much information

some thing like i have to go i've got to get up in the morning your pretty nice you knoe txt me and i'll bring you out

    repeat as nessicary

I have done this once or twice and it does work the more sober u are the better. I wasnt looking for anything well not showing it anyway but your advice is sound. Its been so long since i actually did that that ive forgotten it.
    Cheers m8:)

I'm not allowed to go to such social events like discos or clubs because my over protective mother doesn't want me to fall to alcoholism or drugs. She always thinks of worst case scenarios and thinks they're all going to happen to me all at the same time.

So yeah at discos I'm not doing anything.
    Because I'm not there :P

I usually drink.. alot.. and get very belligerent.

With one foot in the Garda Station.. and another on a banana peal.

Never go to a club looking for a girl. They feel it.
The more relaxed and indifferent you are the better:)

Just look around, and you'll see who's watching you. A smoke outside together is one of the best places to meet - quiet. If you don't smoke then you will chat shouting to each other.

Never had problems meeting new people in a club
