Hey guys quick question. I got a sim card from work as a business phone. Its on the O2 network and has Edge.

My question is if i check my mail whilst in a copnnected wifi spot will my email and safari use the wifi instead of EGDE?

As in does wifi take priority?

If the wifi it turned on and within signal then it will use wifi rather than edge.

Hi There, I'm fairly illiterate when it comes to jailbreaking etc so I desperately need some help.
My battery ran down last night and this morning I found my phone was frozen with a message about single users and being unable to find files.
I couldn't get it to do anything and eventually had to restore 1.1.2.
I'm using a jailbroken iphone from the states with a vodafone sim card.
Now that it's been restored it's telling me I have to insert a valid sim.
Does anyone know how I can get back into my phone so I can load up my old info from my pc.
I have never used any of the jailbreaking packages myself so have no idea where to start.

Hi there. It's a pc and I've been working on it for the last 3 hours and managed to get it unlocked and restored using ziphone. I've lost all my apps and stuff tho so Can you tell me how to get the APP button back on the menu. I've tried downloading it but can only find it for version 1.01 and 1.0.2. I've got 1.1.1.

You shouldn't use Ziphone its badly written crap

Use iliberty+ on the pc

You can update to 1.1.4 and use iliberty+ to unlock it and add the installer from the advanced tab then choose local payloads and tick installer

Got ready to go vodafone iPhone.
I seem to be losing credit. Its like it sending text messages. I heard some people on o2 had the same problem. Anyone have it with vodafone? If so, how did you sort it?

Hi there again, Well I got my phone back up and running thanks to your advice, much appreciated.
Only problem now is safari. youtube is working as is installer so I know my wifi is working fine but when I try to use safari it says it can't find the network.
Any Ideas anyone?????

Sorry...I thought I had everything fixed and I guess I don't.

I used liberty and got everything working except I can't hear any thing on call speaker.
So if I ring someone or if they ring me I can't hear them...not even through the loud speaker:o:(

couple of things

are you sure the volume is turned up

can you hear anything using the headphones

If yes then it could be dirt in the headphone socket that makes the phone think that the headphones are turned on.

if i get an i phone 2.0 from the states, will I be able to unlock it and use vodafone pas as you go here? what issues are there with this? I'm hopeless with electronics stuff so keep it all simple for me if you dont mind..

If we buy this online, get the phone unlocked, can I se my O2 sim card Pay As You Go 'simcard'

Yeah, I was planning on picking one up in the states, unlocking it and using my PAYG metoer sim in it at home, but I was told that you won't be able to buy the new 3G iPhone without signing a contract in the American store? Will the shops still be selling the first generation iPhone that will work once unlocked?

ya if you can get your hands on an old one, I wanted one and couldnt get one in Florida, was told that they were very hard to get back into stock now but was assured that they will still be available for a while;)

My iphone has stopped ringing and the keyboard clicks and lock/unlock clicks are not sounding either
When I select the ringtone its playing fine and Ive tried a restore
Its also not on silent
Does anyone have any ideas?

have you tried plugging the headphones in and out a few times? that sometimes helps get the sound going again.

hi all...i was trying to find out wat speakers would go wit my iphone to listen to music with and stummbled across a forum where it said that by cleaning the speaker holes with a neddle and gently peircing the holes would give better sound and i have tried it with great success...the sound is twice as good now..let me know if anyone else tries this and how u get on

if u lock the keypad and then press the sleep button u should get all sound back ok
