I'm all for Brazillia, I used to get a Hollywood done. I think they're brilliant, but it still does hurt like hell and is an expensive habit. I'm in the middle of a course of laser, getting a californian done. Its working a treat and it gets rid of hair forever. I don't like the way a lot of guys seem to expect it though, thus putting pressure on girls to have it done. For me, its a hygiene thing and I find I feel sexier and I can wear nice lingerie and not worry about lady garden foliage peeking out. :D

Have many LL-ers come across men who expect it? I hope those guys who are expecting/requesting are prepared to reciprocate and get bits waxed themselves then.

What i do with my lady garden (love that phrase Ash!) is my business, and as long as there's no cleanliness issues then i don't think any man i was in a relationship with should get to expect anything.

But...interestingly in spite of all my 'sisters doing it for themselves' opinions...i'm single at the moment and get simple californians done as i couldn't be bothered to go through the pain and expense of a brazilian if there's nobody to see it! Seriously, were i to get one done now i'd be freaking out my friends by offering to show it to them because it'd be such a shame if nobody (other than me) appreciated it. :o

I get my brazilian done in the camden court hotel with the beautician there (PM me for her number)!! was so sore the first time, i tink I nearly cried, but that was because the hair was so tough from years of shaving! but now I get it done every three weeks and dont feel a thing! its the best bit of money I spend each month. its hygenic and makes me feel 10 times better down there, i seriously dont know why I didnt get it done sooner!!! :D

    Hi ladies

I'm fairly new around here but am still a bit confused about the whole "shape" thing when it comes to the areas being removed when it comes to the bikini area. I have bitten the bullet and booked with Brazilia for next week for my first time, getting a patch test done today. Going away next week and do not want the itchy redness that comes with shaving and the general agro, want to try this way forward. Having spoken with the salon lady on the phone, she said it was a "G-String" wax I proabaly wanted...what's the difference between that and a Brazilian? I'm confused now! If anyone can help that'd be great. Thanks.

A G-string wax follows the line of a g-string panty - a bit off the front, between your legs and your bum.

The Brazilian is all off or you can elect to leave a landing strip behind.

I have to ask: why are you going in for a 'patch test'?

A patch test is where they try a little bit on say your leg to check that you're not allergic to it, it's the same as when you want to get your hair dyed in the hair dressers, they put a little bit of it on you. If you flare up, you're allergic to it and not able to get it done and if not then it's safe to go ahead with it

I'm actually shocked that, of my experience in the past few years, every girl seems to be bald down there - with both guys generally seeming to expect it and girls generally deeming it the norm. OK, a little tending is fine, but the hairless look is absolutely horrible in my opinion and the natural one far more attractive (though, again, a little tending is OK if needs be).

I don't know.....it just hampers the mood for me to make such a discovery.

yes, I brazillian wax, but always leave a landing strip. I don't really want to look like a pre-pubescent child, and find it a bit creepy if a man expects it.

I dunno. Theres something unnatural about just a strip of hair. Not judging your style :pac:

I'd rather whip off the lot tbh.

Nothing natural about an adult woman with a baldy either though:D:D

But surely by the same principle any man who shaves his face or woman who expects it is guilty of the same creepiness? I don't think I'll be leaving a little strip above my lip either - for some reason that look has gone out of style in the last 60 years or so ;)

Well one would assume that the men involved are fully aware that the women concerened are, in fact, women, not children. So the stylings of their va-jay-jay region have no bearings on paedophilia in that case.

Fair point, but a school uniform can blur the lines a bit.... :D

Anyway girls, forget the waxing and let it grow! I prefer the hair - it gives a sense of location and purpose - you kinda know you've arrived when get down there...

I think it's an age thing too - my 18 year-old son and my partner's 21 year old son both 'expect' their g/f's to have waxed - I'm nonplussed. My first introduction to naked women was 70's German porn - I assume my errant son has been downloading photoshopped examples of 'perfection' from the internet and therefore has a much different take on what naked women should look like...

Fair enough, I like a landing strip too (for interest and decoration!). No man should have the right to expect the lawn to be mowed any particular way, if the woman doesn't want it herself.;)

Well, this is true. It definitely shouldn't be "expected" of a woman, and I'd be mightily annoyed if anyone I was with ever requested me to do XYZ down there. It's the girl's choice, it's her body to do with what she will! :p

Today I went to Brazilia to get a basic Brazilian, and the girl gave me a full Brazilian! So instead of a nice strip of hair, I have a wee patch the size of my thumb nail... :( She charged me an extra 5e too, and it was waaay more painful :(:(

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,375 ✭✭✭fonpokno

i got a brazilian done there about an hour ago in work. cripes, it was rather painful! kinda weird to look at too but i'm sure its something you get used to! i think i'd go californian next time for a more natural shape rather than just lookin a bit like they missed a spot...

Going by the price list the full brazilian is €5 more then the basic.
I'm very suprised to hear that about Brazilia, so she did a full brazilian after you specified a basic brazilian?
Did she at least ask you how much you wanted left?

I know what a patch test is, I asked why you had to have one, never mind a different day. Reactions are instantaneous and easily dealt with. I just think coming in especially for one is a waste of time. Unless you have time to waste, that is.

Who said V-jay-jay? Please don't bring Oprah into this. It's a vagina.

What's a Californian? A secular way of saying G String wax.

You can use strip wax on a Brazilian as there are specially formulated strip waxes that are for Brazilians - for example Brilliance XXX by Caron which comes in both strip and wax. However, it's safer to use hot wax for the ultra sensitive spots such as your outer lips and the little mound above your clitoris. A skilled waxer will use both.

I tried to wax my bikini line 2 months ago, and i STILL have awful red spots and ingrown hairs..i really dont think i did it wrong, so maybe this means i shouldnt wax at all? If i went to a beautician would it be better? anyone else have this happen..i normally use immac or veet down there but i'd love to get it waxed if i was sure i wouldnt be like a leper again! ive spent the last few months turning off lights and hiding from my boyfriend!

Yes, 5e. As in I expected to pay 47e for a basic. But I got downstairs and she charged me 52e as she had given me a Brazilian.

I was surprised too, and it was really sore too. Last time I had a much better girl. I'll ask for her in future...

She said about width of a finger. I said yes, and assumed that it'd be length too, but then I looked down and it was pretty much all whipped off!

You can get an oil for that and an exfoliating cream. If you get an exfoliating mitt and the cream and use it after a wax it should help prevent it

I did. You know, jokingly. Sheesh. I've no qualms with vaginas.

    Relax.
