don't forget to click on the option of upgrading the keyboard & mouse to the logitech wireless version. (the one that says save 30%) - Its €50 to buy in the shops but a dell error means they will give you the wireless keyboard & mouse and it will deduct about 9 quid off your total price.

Their Ebay outlet used to be good and I got many a good bargain there. Don't bother with it much now though. Too many idiots bidding too early and going waaayyy over the odds. I've seen some machines (mostly laptops) going for more on the Ebay outlet than you could buy them for new on the retail site.

Anyone know if you can use the coupons when checking out on the outlet store? Or if their free delivery applies to the Ebay Outlet?

    Thanks

10% off all Inspiron and XPS systems with minimum order value over €899. Guess that means you can get a cheaper system, and top up the value with bags, printers, etc, if you need them.

    Expires 28.05.08

Dang - I knew I should have orderred my new XPS laptop last night!!

Anyone got anymore of these codes?

Yeah that's pretty good laptop for the money. When they ask put in aib or eircom. They don't check this (or at least not that I've seen).

I added another gig of ram there, for €30 extra, and am going to order it now. As for their delivery service, do they ring in advance to let you know its on the way? Cause i'm not sure if i should set the address to my apartment or my work address.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 35,196 Mod ✭✭✭✭AlmightyCushion

They've only ever rang me when they were having trouble finding the house.

And if your not there? Its just im on shift, so my schedule is all over the place at the moment. Can i specify a good day to deliver it?

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 10,040 ✭✭✭✭mik_da_man

You cannot specify a day, but they have rang me in advance to confirm if someone would be around. If not they may tell you a time the next day that they will be around.
They will not leave it in a neighbours or deliver to an address apart from the cardholders.
Dell are VERY strict on this according to my delivery guy

Just curious as to why people are saying they're working for Eircom or AIB if they're not?

Is this for the Vostro range, can you get them ex VAT if you're saying it's for a business like AIB or Eircom or something??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,088 ✭✭✭Soarer

It's because of the EPP, Employee Purchase Program.

Dell have a special arrangement with certain companies that if an employee of theirs purchase a computer from them, they'll reduce the price by up to 10% depending on the price of the unit.
Most of the big companies are affiliated, and you're supposed to be an employee to benefit.
So if asked, you say you work for Eircom or whatever. They don't ask for proof, AFAIK.

Nothing to do with getting VAT off I'm afraid.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 304 ✭✭boardsie08

Soarer, thanks for that! Never knew that.. that's handy to know!

And this Epp Discount - can that be used in conjunction with other offers/discount codes also?

The only thing about that is the 15.4" monitor. The one i posted has a 17" monitor (17.0" Widescreen WXGA+ (1440x900) TFT Display with TrueLife), which i didnt include in the post for some reason. I'll either take it as it is above, with 4gb of ram, or go back to 3gb and get a bigger hard drive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,088 ✭✭✭Soarer

    Yup!

Just click on http://www.dell.ie/epp, and when you get to your basket, apply the money-off coupon, and the whole lot gets deducted.

The EPP doesn't give you discounts on the Outlet prices though, but still....;)
