I just ordered one of those discounted Precision M90's and Dell are saying there is an issue with the GF Quadro FX3500m for it.

That was half the point in buying the system :/

This Toshiba looks very good to me. About €785 delivered.
Jeebus, that looks decent. What are they like for service... anyone bought from www.laptopsdirect.ie

I'm looking out for a decent dell at about 1200... the Dell XPS 1530's are tickling my fancy... but I wouldn't be married to them.

    Hey

anybody got a value code for a cheap laptop....one for a student so no need for anything high end cos it will just be used for assignments and student work. (XP would be fine also)
Something around e400 would be great!!!

    thanks

There is a new 10% discount code gone up on dmxdimension.com but I think it only works on dell.co.uk
    - BP?7GZPWD1TNF0

Has anyone been mailed a new one today for dell.ie?

a flyer came with the sunday paper quoting E-Value code NPIE5-N045208 for a inspiron 1525 for 649euro. core 2 duo processor,vista,2gb ram, 15.4 truelife, 160gb harddrive if thats any good to anyone.

i always thought that the deals on the flyers would be inferior to what you could get yourself online.

maybe someone could shed some light on this?

Sorry for sounding impatient about the discount vouchers, but could someone on Dells mailing list for these coupons, such as BostonB, confirm that they haven't received a new one. It could be that Dell are not doing one for dell.ie this time round. Thanks.

I'm on their mailing list and haven't got one since 31/03/08.
I got other promo mails from them but none with codes.

    Quick query on Vostro discounts...
I've been trying to spec out a decent 1500 for my purposes and I think I've done it - I'm just trying to find the cheapest way to do it.
My understanding is that you can;t buy the vostro through EPP because it's business, but will normal discount codes work? Are there any other ways I should be trying to leverage a discount? I think I can actually buy the thing through my brothers company so I will avoid VAT - any other ways to shave off a few euro?

    Cheers!

No, normally the discounts don't work with the business models. The best i've seen is the ocassional 5% discount off business models, but these are very rare. And ive never once seen a 10% discount that works with Vostros. For the most part, the deals you see on the website are as good as you're going to do.

i ordered a vostro laptop on 4th april, was supposed to get it tomorrow but i've just got an email from dell to say i won't get it till 12th may

do dell normally take this long to deliver their laptops? i thought it would only take a week tops when i first ordered, now it's going to be at least 5 weeks since ordering that i'll get it, so annoying.

I ordered a Vostro 1000 on Sunday night, arrived this morning. Delivery will depend on if you spec'ed anything different internally, then it could delay it a bit.. but 4th april until 12th May

it was a 1500 i ordered, and spec'd it with a 7200rpm 160gb hard drive, 3gb ram, 256mb graphics card. dunno how it could take so long to get these parts, as i'm sure they are selling these fairly regularly.

Have a look at the Dell Ireland/Laptops/Home/XPS 1330 page http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xpsnb_m1330?c=ie&l=en&s=dhs&cs=iedhs1
Look at the last one marked 'Big Savings'.
In the description it says "XPSTM M1330
Super lightweight, power - saving combination featuring an ultra bright WLED display combined with a 64GB solid state disk for best - in - class read & write speeds." for only €1299
I called the online ordering number to order this, but the guy from Dell said that the WLED and 64GB solid state disk would cost extra (€800 extra). Needless to say I didn't proceed with the purchase .

Thing is though, is this false advertising by Dell?

I remember when I was buying my laptop dell had an option to upgrade the hard drive from 120GB to 160GB and it dropped the price €80. Unfortunately when I was going to buy the laptop the next day it was gone. :(

10% off all Inspiron and XPS systems with minimum order value over €899. Guess that means you can get a cheaper system, and top up the value with bags, printers, etc, if you need them.
