From lookin at alot of peoples height on here, i'd say the average height of blokes in Ireland is closer to 6' rather than 5'9'' or whatever it is.
There's your problem. Here is on the internet.

Though naturally younger people are taller. Though it's not by all that much, maybe an inch. 5'10" is probably the average height of a man aged 25.

Also people from Dublin are taller seeing as with all the buildings they have to grow upward in order to get sunlight. :pac:

I'm a couple of milimetres under 5.11' so you're not that unique:)!

12St 5'8" and don't ask me what that is in metric.

The fact that most of the posts are imperial just shows you how stupid and confusing the metric system is despite being introduced 41 years ago into Ireland. Burma, Liberia, and the United States are correct to hold off on this imposed metric system. Long live lbs, ft and Ins.

I don't geddit. Why would anyone exaggerate their height? :/

As I said earlier, Im about 5ft 2. Im happy with it.

Since when is being not tall shameful? :(

there are a number of reasons, e.g. they don't know their true height or they call their height in shoes, high heels etc or they just want to be taller. My dad claimed 5'6 as far back as i can remember; he is really 5'3
Another one like me - I'm 5 11' and 135lbs, the rest of my family are over 6ft -6ft5' and in heels I'm unmissable. Any guy who thinks 5 8' is average is kidding himself btw.....

so in your opinion what is average male height???

I had a similar experience. I always thought I was around 5ft 4. I walked out of the doc's two inches shorter :/

6ft according to my medical report:)

5' 7''. Would rather be shorter tbh, guys tend to find that more attractive and easier for clothes, plus most of my friends are either quite short or quite busty, or both, feel so left out...:(

I'll join Rainbow in the midget club.
    Female and 5' zero.
I hate being small, you can't put on a few pounds without looking dumpy. There's just nowhere to hide it !
Shopping for groceries is a nightmare, nothing off the top shelf in my house.
I have been spotted in supermarkets knocking goodies off the top shelf by whacking them with a baguette or a roll of tin foil. I envy all you 6 footers, all those long legs and arms.....

Same here. Thought I was 5' 10" but i'm only 5' 8.5", that extra inch and a half made all the difference

Sounds similar to me. 6'5'' and trained a bit on the wing as well. Hopefully, I'll be ready for pre-season :).

Thank god I'm not the only one that has problems with the top shelves in supermarkets. All the top shelves in my kitchen are empty too or have stuff on them that gets used about once a year.

Abigayle meet Gettingold, Gettingold - Abigayle.:p
5"6' last time I was measured, but then I am getting on in years so could be down to 5"5'.:o

Have long arms though (not quite a knuckledragger thankfully) so top shelves are not much of an issue for me.:)
