You apply that code at the checkout Boston. Not at the begining/EPP stage. You use the 999 N01?????? at the start.

I need to get a laptop for my mam and hoped to spend under €500. I got a great deal on a Vostro in February (from this thread) for €468 delivered. The second from the left on this page has an almost identical spec but is €519 delivered - does anyone have any discount or EPP codes to get that price down a bit or know of other deals with similar specs I should look at?

This is a similar spec to the above (The only real difference is that it's a vostro 1000 and the processor). €480ish delivered.

Cheers AlmightyCushion, doesn't seem as good a deal as I got in February though....I'll hold out another few days and see if any more deals come along

They're out now, it's the T8000 series and T9000 series. The quad cores should be out in may.

XPS M1330 for €533.60 on Dell Outlet (www.dell.ie/outlet), with €80 discount and free shipping comes to €547 . Just bought one and another filled its place at the same price! Looks like they are moving stock for the new batch of CPUs.

The one I got has the following specs:

    Core2Duo T5450 cpu (1.66Ghz)
    1024MB DDR2-667 ram
    120GB 5400rpm hdd
1280x800 CCFL screen with 2.0mp webcam
    Integrated Intel X3100 graphics
    37watt/hr 4-cell battery
    Intel 3945 wireless (802.11 a/b/g)
    Slot-loading DVD-rw
    Tuxedo Black colour

The Service Tag was included in the order confirmation and when I checked
that (support.euro.dell.com) the original ship date was Feb 22, 2008. So I am thinking these are new machines, not returns, and the documentation is Irish.
Seems like a good deal, especially with the free shipping and discount.

There is a good review of the M1330 at www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3826

I can't find them :(. Also could I upgrade this to have a nine cell battery?

You can't upgrade things on the outlet. Systems on the outlet are systems that were returned so they don't stay long on there. For the real bargains on there you have to be very quick.

Sorry. I meant could I go to the dell site or ebay and buy a 9 cell battery separately?

No theres a link to a vostro e-value code in there. Its not a discount code as such but a good price for what you get.

Cheers guys, I upspecced the processor to a Core 2 Duo T5270 (1.40 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2-cache)

Coming out now at €664, good deal??

I would prefer a low end Vaio at that price such as this:

    http://www.laptopsdirect.ie/Sony_VAIO_NR21J-S_VGNNR21JS/version.asp

I think that vostro is at the best value when you dont add alot and keep it sub €400

This Toshiba looks very good to me. About €785 delivered.

I just noticed that there is 1k off the m90. This seems absolutely crazy good value. I can get a top of the line one for 1115 ex vat. They're a great machine right?
I'm looking at it for a friend. Main use is to work with AutoCad, and so needs powerful graphics (for the 3d module).
Other uses will be just the basic internet, movie watching, music listening etc etc.

in all honesty Autocad can run well on even a decent system and they probably wouldnt be using Autocad if they were doing serious rendering requiring huge graphics processing

Are there any 10% off coupons doing the rounds at the moment? The last one on here, GMDW091?GNR$FT, expired on the 2nd April. Anyone know how many days/weeks Dell leaves between these coupons? Thanks.
