    Hi Lads,

Have an AEG and kit coming from HK. Shipping via UPS, hopefully no issues, will keep you posted.

One thing to note, UPS use their own Aircraft and hub's, for all of the journey, the package dose not pass into 3rd party hands, cutting out possible issues. Under Irish regs only 33% on all "Account" shipments need to be opened for security checks, that is supposed to happen at source.

EMS and others will pass shipments through many many hands gettting from HK to Ire, all it will take is for 1 of them to get the message wrong and it will filter throught the chain, that is were the miss information could be coming from, as they said "Airlines" thease are most likely cargo compnies, eg Lufthansa, Delta cargo etc...

Will let you know if UPS still good to use.

    Steve

    Hi Steve,
I had a package delivered from UPS last week. It was a Meister Glock from RSOV and I paid an extra 31€ on it which included duty, VAT and UPS fees. It was delivered to me by a guy in a mini bus. The following day or so I had a box containg a number of masks, a chrono and 2 batteries delivered to me by TNT also from RSOV with out duty. So go figure.

    Martin.

not too sure has this been asked before here...and is a bit of a longshot

anyone here from Northern Ireland that knows of a change in the law there that might have kicked this off?

is this affecting players in the North as well?

Naturally enough I am getting weary of this.

Is anyone in contact with hk post since the blanket fob off e-mail they sent?

no they just keep sending the same copy and past, I've made request for the original source information and it origins but no replies for this

I think some of the retailers have been onto them too about this.

You see I don't know if I'm wasting my time contacting them again or if there are negotiations actually happening or what.

I received an AEG and pistol from WGC on Thursday. They originally shipped it via EMS the previous week, but it was returned and they re-sent it via TNT.

This was a couple of days ago though...perhaps they've just decided yesterday they cant be arsed with all the hassle.

that what im thinking as i put in a quote last week and it was fine adjusted the order a little today and i got a corrected invoice back without any airsoft devices on and the not about not shipping, although sometimes it depends who answers the mail im hopping this is only a temp thing like gunner.

Yeah, hopefully it'll be temporary. I like WGC a lot myself. I dont use any of the big couriers for my bulk orders, so this nonsense won't affect me too much, but I often get stuff from Redwolf and WGC when someone wants a special item, or I need stuff quickly. It'll be a pain in the rear if those avenues are cut off.

well i have found on occasion with wgc -- it depends on the sales person...

i like their custom ones...really good value as it happens. what has bugged me out is they offer a power mod to get it to 1j and it seems they are out of stock. so i was ordering yet another m4 variant...only to find i was 5 or 10 fps outside the limit, they could not mod it lower..so i waited...and what happens then..all this EMS debacle...maybe i was just not meant to have it i guess...

as of this morning i still have no rely from HK post...

some good news however, ehobby are posting, except that are using UPS.

Just received my package from UPS, not hassle and it also looks like i didn't get done for customs. There was a letter with the package stating that all items where airsoft toys and that they fired under 310fps, which from my experience of wgc is an accurate statement.

AEG arrived today from GlobalAirsoft HK via UPS. No Issues getting it to Ire even thought the airway bill said "unit lower than 2 joule". UPS are a nightmare tho, still 1 box missing, last reported sighting dublin 15.

PS. Its only .9 of a joule.

    Okay, got some bad news....

i got this from a very helful lady in the External Affairs Division in Hong Kong..

read it and weep (but it is as suspected)

    editted..

Since there is no direct flight between Hong Kong and the Republic of Ireland, EMS items destined for the Republic Ireland need to be sent in transit via London Heathrow. According to the advice of the Airport Police and the British Airport Authority, it is an offence to import realistic (imitation) firearms into the United Kingdom under the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006. Therefore, it is against the law for the realistic firearms, such as airsoft, to be transited via London Heathrow. We understand it may not be prohibited to import realistic firearms to the Republic of Ireland. However, we regret that due to the prohibition of the transit point, we cannot accept realistic firearms in the post to the Republic of Ireland .

    finish

    so it is the VCRA...
