Does anyone fancy predicting the winners of some of the groupings?
I'd fancy these in Dublin (South)
    Redmond (Old COunty)
    Frank Ryan (RGSC)
    Harkins(RGSC)

    Nothside

Liam Collins (CY) (tough opening game)
    Paul Nolan (EI)
    B Wdwards (CY)

    Southside

    P Lowry (Glenville)
    J Lawlor (RGSC)

Other groups look tough to call think I should get to the last night so fingers crosse, not sure who will come out with arron cuddihy, darren o reially and stephen murray

If you don't get to the last night I wouldn't bother posting here again to be honest.
Yes it is a good/bad draw. Good in that there are a few potentially great games. Bad in so far as there are a number of decent players who won't get through.

    Davey,
I think I've created a bit of confusion. I've no problem with Fermoy, its a fine course, always in immaculate condition and always extremely presented. Add to that the hospitality is good, considering its in Cork, it is one of the best exponents of everything that is good about pitch and Putt. I just don't like the place. I can never score there. I've played there twice in Nationals and both times have been horrible experiences for me where I didn't do myself justice.
I wouldn't advise to change anything. I prefer courses that have smaller greens, doesn't mean all courses have to be like that. Its just my opinion. :D
your opinions are fine by me, dont worry if you have created confusion as i didnt think there was any.I like to hear opinions on subjects of greens and just to make sure everyones happy with the courses in irelands P+P clubs.Im sure feedback is a good thing on the courses.
Played this weekend muliti card club competition 9 games played and no good as i was exhausted as it was very warm.
    hotter today!

Collins Pitch and Putt club is located in the North side of Cork City. Next to the Collins Army Barracks. Greens were in great condition and very fast. Touch putting the requirement here.

Heard that last night Ger, I was surprised to be honest. No offence to Graham he's a good player, just felt george was coming into form. Heard how it went too.
No draw up yet, I'll post them as soon as I hear anything.
No surprises in Offaly. All the main heads through to the next round. Good match between Willie Buckley and Larry Maher tonight.

    On the northside

    Trevor Heffernan won
    Greg Heffernan won
Paddy Rowe won (this game wasn't due to play until tonight so that makes me think that Kingdom's original call on Paddy was spot on).
Paul Nolan was 1 up with 3 to play and Dennis Monaghan was only gone through 25 holes when I left.

Was beaten well by greg.Still not striking the ball corectly, but no excuses he played very well on the night and deserved to win.

Hard luck Wiger. Are you serious about Paddy Rowe's match? If so, the person who told Paddy he had to play tonight should take a good luck at themselves. What was it like out there wiger~?

Yeah rang Paddy last night and told him.He was totally p****d off.Turns out there was no "official" in erin's isle last night anyway. He could have come down and played and nobody would have been put out in any way. There was only 5 matches on the course including Paddy Rowe's match.
Apparently members of Erin's Isle comittee were asked to oversee things !.

Anyway course was in fine condition.Greens were tight and had a good roll to them. They weren't really as firm as I'd expected considering the heat over the last few days.

Hey all just noticed this forum, geting good info off it, cheers, im playing in d clare rd club in ennis, qualified for the munster strokeplay finals in 2 weeks, just wonderin has anyone any tips on the Esb coarse? i wont get the chance to pratice on the coarse because of exams at d minute.

Hi Clare rd, The ESB course has a mixture od short/long holes. Most holes are around the 40m to 50m mark. There are two short holes (30 to 35m) and 5 holes 50m plus. The greens are normally fast and true so if you roll your putt correctly it should go in. The greens are normally receptive but accuracy is important as there are a few bowl shaped greens so an inaccurate pitch could spin/bounce off. The fringes around the greens are normally cut quite tight so if you were 2 feet off the green, putting is definitely an option rather than chipping. Best of luck in the finals and with your exams.

Yep, I am playing in the Junior section too. It is my first time playing in a Munster Strokeplay final so I do not know what sort of score normally would win. Going by the qualifying in Cork for the Junior section, 4 under was the leading score. I would say that if you could shoot 4 under for the 36 holes in ESB that you would be in with a great chance. As far as I know there are no local ESB players palying inthe Junior finals so that eliminates the home advantage factor.

Hi GerCPM, I have not heard any Cork results yet but will try to find out for you. I know there have been lots of no shows. There has been lots of contraversy about the National Matchplay. Apparently (opening a can of worms here) some of the top players have paid out of their own pockets for other senior players from their own clubs to enter the National Matchplay (who then will not show up) so as to boost the entry numbers. The idea being that the more that enter, the more that will qualify (1 in 7/8) for the finals. Never realized these competitions were treated so seriously. Have you heard of this being done in other counties?

If this is true, cork should have all representatives thrown out, what do people think of this
