Apologies for the poor quality pics..

I have a Wolseley 16/60 of the same colour, which the last pic seems to be. Wondered if it was me for a moment, but the reg no is too long. I got the wheel cylinders today, so I'm happy.

The Miafiore rusted like nothing else, my Dad's one did anyhow. This car is parked outside always, so it seems to be holding up better.

Well, it's a UK import I reckon (going by the 79-D plates). Give it a year or two, and rust will start to appear from everywhere on this car.

If its almost 30 years old then someone's done a good job on the rustproofing already me thinks...whats the red car in the garden ??

Its either a W114 or W115. They ran from 68 to 76, tho this particular one looks like the later model (73ish to 76). Also, by the looks of the headlights its not for the Euro market, most likely US. The W114s had 6 cyls, W115s were 4pots. Looks good Sids, where did you spot that?

With reference to the post of the white 131- the car in the driveway is a 124 coupe, with an Irish reg.
Drove past it today & had a peek but was on the phone so couldn't get a pic..

    Love them I do!

I doubt it was parked outside for 30 years,it must have been garaged, i doubt the owner is doing it any favours by parking it outside.

And the sealed beam headlights (what's the story with them, they were a big thing in North America back in the day?). The US-spec. W116 was a fine example of what these garish 'safety' additions can do to a car.

Anyway, back on topic, I spotted a Citroen Dyane in Rathfarnham only about an hour ago. It was orange and had RI (I think) old Irish plates. Forgot my feckin' phone so no picture unfortunately.

True, daily driving is much better than long periods parked up in a shed, its good to hear that theres at least one 131 doing the rounds anyway!!

Renault4 in everyday use in tralee, outside in all weathers!Maybe not everybodys idea of what a classic is, but its nice to see original irish regs around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 114 ✭✭Renotec

    Nice 4 (GTL)
I was in Tralee saturday last but did not see it. Where abouts is it parked?
Is there a dent in the roof or is it just the shadow?

Nice one richiet, seen a few of them around but the VW under the plastic is a new one to me!
There's a 124 spider under a tarp in a front garden in Ballyfermott for at least the last 15 years, tried to get a look at it many times but no joy. I hope that this VW doesn't suffer the same fate!
BTW that K20 coupe looks kinda cool..

Look in the garden.you can just see the butt of a fiat coupe (pinkey-red). I believe i met the owners at a show in staplestown last year. If it is the same car , it is immaculate inside and out. Mirafiori wasent a bad car in its day.Thirsty though.
My boss had one during the 77/78 fuel crisis, We were working in Rosslare, took just under half a tank to get there,(so we walked about all week), He traded for a Carina mk 1 (looked a bit like a Mustang) did the run just over a quarter tank...Happy Days.
