Okay since there is nearly 4000 posts here I cannot find any information on buying an iPhone up North or here.

Basically I just want to go into the shop and buy it without any contract.

If up North do I need to provide a postcode and ID and does similar apply down here.

    Thanks in advance :)

Go to installer and install app support 1.1.3

You may need install community sources first

Hi all, anyone hear from unlockthatiphone recently? I sent a few emails a couple of weeks back and haven't heard anything. I've tried Stephens mobile but it's disconnected and I tried the 021 number and it's engaged all the time.

I thought they had a fantastic service at the beginning. Their delays were always due to unlocking issues or delivery issues and thats life. Anyhow my iphone is now dead. I was happily chatting away and now the screen is blank and it doesn't ring but if you call it you think it is ringing on the other end. None of the buttons do anything and I've tried charging it and plugging it into a PC. You can access it from a PC but the screen stays dead.

Anyhow I figured I might as well send it back since it's still under warrenty and I haven't made any changes since I received it.

Has sent one back for repair yet? I have the Wilton address and the PAIRC NA GCAPALL address but I'd rather get a returns number before just sticking it in the post.

Has anyone had a successful repair yet?

    Thanks, JP

You're screwed basically. They are gone...and with everyones money!!

Apologies for being dense: I have community sources installed (I can see it in Uninstall), but I cannot find app support 1.1.3 in the All Packages area in the Install - am I looking in the wrong place?

    Did you upgrade or restore

This seems to crop up if you update to 1.1.4 rather than restore to it

or if you restore to it and then sync your backup from itunes

The solution is to restore then setup the phone as a new phone you lose all your messages etc

Yeah did a restore rather than an update, then did the backup from iTunes. Guess I do it from scratch as suggested, thank Cdebru.

I'm trying to restore my 1.1.4 phone to 1.1.3 cause those texts to 9011 are killing my credit, they are not stopping???

anyway, i downloaded the 1.1.3 firmware, and did a shift restore, it works away for about 5 minutes, but i keep getting an error "iphone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1015)"

i've downgraded the version of itunes to 7.5, as suggested by a google search, no joy....still the same error.

    any ideas???

I had the same question, and The Man locked my thread. Anyone able to help us out?

Do you have to get them off fraudBay or from the States if you want one without a contract?

I got the following from Stephen.

"Unfortunately Unlock That iPhone ceased trading on February 8th 2008 due to financial difficulties. Therefore, Unlock That iPhone is not in a position to refund anyone, or to provide products to those who did not receive them.

Id like to apologize for any inconvenience that has been caused in your dealings with Unlock That iPhone.

    Kind Regards,

I wonder is iphonesimsolutions.com the same person????

Cdebru, I used iplus 2 to bypass stealth sim on my iphone, after 2 atempts it worked but it was not the internaitonal edition, that seemed to hang, but the regular version worked.

My caller id is not working right, should I try to get international to work or do I need to edit the caller id file (phone number templates)????

    Btw

When you are done the phone won't work as you will still have the 1.1.4 baseband so you need to downgrade the baseband to get it to the 1.1.3 version which is 04.03.13G

    add http://www.appledailytimes.com/installer

to the installer sources then you will see the 1.1.4 to 1.1.3 baseband downgrader

Did a quick CRO check and there's a business name registered as "unlock that iphone" but there doesn't seem to be a limited company - those who got stung may be able to chase their refunds directly from the persons they traded with, just saying we're not trading anymore shouldn't wash when there is no protection by limited liability..... you can't just change trading names to wash your hands (well you can if you're corporate).

I had the same problem with the 9011 texts - As far as i know everytime you do a restore they send out another batch! As cdebru mentioned it seems that about 8 or so messages are sent everytime over the course of an hour. It really eats up your credit. I know a lot more than 8 have been sent on you tho. When I had the problem someone suggested switching off Edge by installing BossPrefs from installer. I did this & havent switched it back on yet & havent had any 9011 texts since but not sure if it was just coincidence (as in the 8 or however many msgs were sent by then) or whether or not it actually solved my problem. Might be worth a try tho!

Does it seem coincedence that the day unlockthatiphone go out of business is the day that the software unlock comes out of 4.6Bl iPhones?

To those who have had the random credit eating 9011 texts, what network are you on?

hopefully i won't have to switch off Edge, don't want to lose the data functions on the phone when i'm out and about...we'll see how the downgrade works..

I've upgraded to 1.1.3 firmware using the Installer method from jailbroken 1.1.2. All features working without problem.

However, Installer icon appears on the Home screen, but when launched goes to blank screen and returns to home after 10 secs. SSH reveals Installer.app is still in the Applications directory. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

hi, its simple to do yourself, just restore the phone to 1.1.4 in itunes when you get it and use iplus to unlock, you only have to type in 2 small commands , and thats it, its unlocked, jailbroken and has installer already on it, it really is that simple, give it a try yourself, you cant brick it

    Hi,

I'm running a 1.1.3 16GB iPhone with BL 3.9FB. I've noticed a problem lately which affects only SMS. Caller ID on phone calls is fine.

    The situation is as follows:

I send a text to someone that's in my phone book as 0851234567. They reply to my text (their number is sent as +353851234567 from the network) and their reply therefore shows up as a different conversation.

I've uninstalled the AppSupport patch, and even restored to 1.1.3 from scratch, but the problem persists.

I've checked out Tim Schuerewegen's forum (creater of patch) and it seems that this is a known 'feature' in MobileSMS.app. Has anyone got around this problem with 1.1.3? Will a restore to 1.1.4 help in any way, seeing as O2-IRL support was introduced in 1.1.4?

    Thanks in advance..

It's interesting to note that the mobile number listed by IPHONESIMSOLUTIONS.COM is the same as listed by unlockthatiphone.com and they use the same host so are they they same company running under a different name so are the same issues going to arrise?

you are supposed to install the app support patch for 1.1.3 and leave it installed, mine was working before i went up to 1.1.4(and still is with the 1.1.4 patch), have you got your country set to ireland in the settings? settings-general-international -region-ireland?
