I'm trying to jailbreak a new phone that I got yesterday (o2), keep getting the following message -
Looks like iPhone does not pretend to enter recovery mode. Access violation at address 10009350 in module 'ITUNESMOBILEDEVICE.DLL'. Read of address 00000021.

I tried reconnecting the phone, rebooting computer etc but still the same message. This is with liberty 1_1_2_15

    :confused::confused::confused:

Out of curiosity, does unlocked iPhone work with vodafone live! APN or should I expect some issues?

I walked into the Apple store in San Francisco on Wednesday and bought one. Came home yesterday and unlocked it within a couple of minutes.

    Nothing to it.

Now with the phone released over here, if I buy one from the states and something goes wrong and want to get it fixed what are my options?.. Will a hard restore work all the time to wipe it clean of a jailbreak? Will apple then fix this under warranty?

I don't think you have any options. Apple make it quite clear that if you modify it in any way, tough. You are on your own.

    Still, it's worth it. :D

I don't think I have ever been as smitten with a gadget.

Hi, i am asking this question on behalf of a friend. He wants to import an iPhone from the US and get it hacked or whatever. But as far as i know this invaliates the warranty and means that any firmware update turns the phone into a brick. Am i right or what?

    Thanks in advance.

Can't get that to work either... When i try to download windows version it just keeps directing me back to the haome page...

such false statements you're probably getting them from good old irish people who think they know everything about everything.

    1. "hacking" an iphone will invalidate your warranty only if you are stupid enough to send it to apple in a "hacked" state or ring them up and tell them. More times than not you can return the iphone to it's factory settings and then send it back.

    2. firmware updates will not turn the phone into a brick. updating the phone through itunes will get rid of the jailbreak and will make itunes want the phone to be activated ie. sign up to the O2 contract. you will lose all jailbreak settings and unlock on the phone.

to get your iphone up to date you need be fairly active on reading up on what's going on in the jailbreak community, listening to friends/so-called techies mouth off absolute garbage will get you no-where.

I know that but will they accept an american iphone for repair as if its an 02 one?

Of course if you have a US iphone here apple will not accept it for repair whether you have jailbroken or not

    Downloads fine for me

On iliberty you can put the phone into DFU mode yourself and then try it

It is possible that you are being stopped because the phone has an official activation you could try restore to 1.1.4 then dont let itunes activate the phone for you then try the jailbreak with iliberty

just shift and restore then direct it to the 1.1.4 if itunes downloaded it it should be in the itunes resources folder as far as i can remember

Best to use iplus2 if you read up on it you will see the way ziphone works with ram disks is a little riskier no point in taking risks you dont have to

Alternatively you could use iliberty to jailbreak and activate put installer ssh etc on then just use the 1.1.4 unlock in the installer
I can't find where itunes downloaded the 1.1.4 file, where exactly does it get downloaded to?

go to your c drive then progam files then itunes then itunes resources it should be in there

or do a search for *.ipsw

    NOT ziphone2.5 or 2.6

after that it depends on whether you want to downgrade your bootloader if you do then iplus is good

if not then use iliberty to jailbreak and activate then use Ziphone2.4 to unlock (just unlock in the advanced options then click perform actions)

or if on a mac use independence

IF you use iplus do not go back to 1.02 or 1.1.1 while on the 3.9 fakeblank there is no reason to and there are reports of it messing up the bootloader
