Takes ages and then comes up with same error...
It's just not recognising it.. i acutally then uninstalled itunes (backing up all my music files) and then downloaded latest version of itunes... but still with a blank canvas it wont detect my iphone.

Any ideas

Hi, I'm gonna take the plunge and update my iphone to 1.1.3 this weekend. Its currently running 1.1.2 with a stealth sim. I have downloaded ziphone 2.4 OSX and I was just wondering where do i download the 1.1.3 firmware? Is via itunes itself? i.e. do i just download the update? Sorry i'm a total techno retard & just want to make sure i have everything i need before i take the plunge. Last thing i wanna do is feck up my phone!

Hrm, text messages are coming in with international phone number rather than attached to correct contact. Is there an easier fix than SSHing into the phone??

possibly a dumb question but how do you tell what boot loader version you have?

Yeah thought about this one myself. Luckily I tried that Syphone app that was mentioned earlier so I have all the old messages on my Mac. But what I reckon would be possible is to save the 'sms.db' file to your computer before doing the unlock and then loading it back in afterwards. (via ssh-ing and Cyberduck or some other similar app)

Balls.. so I've got the iPhone.

Trying the unlock now so put it into recovery mode. And launched ZiPhone and it detected the iPhone (and iTunes reported it in recovery mode and cannot be activated) and got as far as the message 'Putting into recovery mode' and it stalled there. Nothing happened. So cancelled the ZiPhone process. And tried to use iJailbreak and that's saying 'Reading Device Information' to me and that's it. Sticks on that!

Now it's stuck in recovery mode.

Never mind... used the Windows version of ZiPhone to unlock it on girlfriends PC. All works fine now.. except LocateMe doesn't find me but not too bothered!

There is no need to put it into recovery mode using the GUI on mac as it does it for you

And if you install locateme from the installer it will semi work

Although apparently my iphone believes Iam in Banja Luka in Bosnia

Hey all, sorry for butting in on the conversation but I'm having some trouble with my iPhone...just got it today.

It was 1.12 OTB, I downloaded Ziphone and ran the unlock, jailbreak and activate...and it seemed to be working fine. However I then realised that it was 1.12 OTB and not 1.13 as I thought it would be since I bought it in an Apple shop in UK this week.

So I put it into restore mode again (with itunes and cable on screen) upgraded to 1.13 via itunes, then ran Ziphone again.

I have not done anything with installer yet.

The phone app is working fine however, Email, Maps, Safari, iTunes Store, YouTube & weather - basically all the apps that require internet access will not connect for me. Safari - "can't find the server". YouTube - "Cannot connect to YouTube" etc..

I have tried this in the University of Limerick Network and wifi is showing at full strength and connected. I am now trying it at home by sharing my laptops wifi connection.

Any ideas as to how I can get these apps working?

Sounds like you are not connected to the internet

Try resetting all network settings and then reconnecting to the wifi

I just reset all network settings, still not working, same messages as before, cannot connect?

There is over 1.43gig in my 'other' - might that have something to do with it?

Maybe I need to start again with restore, upgrade then ziphone?

hey guys got hold of an iphone the other day, just one thing iv noticed when playing music through the loudspeaker on the phone the sound only comes out of the left channel and nothing on the right? is this normal?

also iv tried search in this thread for vodafone data settings but cant find them in the mass of info! could someone repost settings please thanks

Errmmm... yeah the left holes are a very basic speaker and the right holes are the microphone!!

Phew.. lucky I found out that the iPhone's alarm doesn't function when it's switched off.

Would have definitely slept in tomorrow morning as I always switch off my phone at night.. into Airplane Mode it goes.

Bit of an oversight on Apple's part!

If you're sharing net connection from a Mac make sure you update to latest 10.5.2 as previous versions had issues with net sharing.

Hi CD,

I am sorry about this Question, I know you've answered it all ready, but i'm really worried about making the update to 1.1.3 because of all the issue which have been reported, However i'm going to make the upgrade today and want to confirm the following.

My Phone is working perfectly, its on 1.1.1 , with firmware 04.01.13.G
Question:
1 ) do I have to have to upgrade or downgrade the baseband ?. If so when / how,
2 ) I will use OK TO PREP to upgrade to 1.1.2, Is there anything additional i need to do at this stage ?.
3 ) I plan to use ZiPhone to move from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3, can you confirm what selection I need to run on ZiPhone 2.4 .
