Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ladies would you date a man that was shorter then you or do you believe in short man syndrome [ie bnoxious, chauvinistic, arrogant attitude]?

    On the flip side do any of the lads on here have issues with dating a woman who is taller then you?

    Im a guy and i have no major issues with a girl taller than me. My last ex was a good bit taller than me and in the majority i never felt wierd. But if she wore heels it was. She felt uncomfortab;e.

    Judging from your posts in the 'thin' thread on PI you seem to have this on your mind at the moment ztoical? What gives? Is a small man pursuing you right now?

    As a short guy I wouldn't have a problem dating a woman taller than me. I think average or tall guys would be more likely to have a problem with that.

    I prefer men to be at least my height. I really like tall men and I find nothing more unattractive than a short man with a bald head, hate it.

    I'm 5'10". Most of my boyfriends have been taller though but not really when I wear heels. I have had a smaller boyfriend, though not by much. I really didn't care. Unless we're talking midget sized then it doesn't really bother me. It's all the same when you're in bed!

    I suppose ye can't help who you fall in love with but in describing a perfect guy for me I'd prefer him to be taller than me! I actually think it looks funny seeing a couple where the guy is shorter!

    i wouldnt go out with a man shorter then me but thats because im only 5ft3 and i tend to go for people 6ft or taller

    I'm 6ft something; any woman taller than me is usually a bit freakish. I wouldn't mind a woman <= my height, just not taller. I prefer short wimminz. mmmmm, shortness.

    Seriously though I think tall women can be incredibly sexy. There isn't an automatic thing whereby them being tall makes them hot but it can really add to their allure. That said I've never dated a girl smaller than me. I'm only 6' so it;s still possible for me to find a girl taller.

    Although this has always puzzled me: short women (5ft or less) seem to have a huge thing about tall guys (6ft or above). Girls of more middling height don't seem to bothered but short women I've know have always gone for tall guys. Never ones below 5'11

    Nope no short men pursuing me [or they might be and I just don't see them] Just saw there was a 20+ thread on big girls ie fat and wanted to just counter that. Sorry if that comes across as a vendetta againist short people, I meant it very light hearted.

    I'm 5' 8 and have always preferred wimmens around the same size. One was a head above me and I felt intimidated at times.

    In fairness, ztoical, you can't control your height.

    I prefer guys being taller than me, it's something I find attractive, but I have gone out with guys smaller than me, so it really depends on the guy.

    I definitely prefer women who approach my height. I'm six foot five, so that's pretty rare. One woman I had a thing for is six foot three, and it certainly added a lot to her appeal.

    I wouldn't date a man who was shorter than me. I just don't find short men attractive, or men around the same height as me. I'm 5"3 my bf is 5"11 perfect height for me.

    I'm average height, around the 5'7" mark I think, my husband is about 2 inches taller than me when we're in our bare feet, but when I'm in my highest heels I'm a little bit taller than him. Doesn't bother me. I've dated much taller men in the past and they were assholes, so height is not so much of a requirement for me as a good personality is.

    I did know a couple where the girl was just barely hitting the 5 foot mark (according to her; in reality she was more like 4'10"), and her BF was 6'7". Poor fella had a stoop most of the time when they walked round town together, trying to hear what she was saying to him from waaay below the snowy heights he occupied.

    biologically speaking height in a man to women is like big breasts is to us. does it matter? no, but more often or not the person wont complain if they get it.

    personally ive historically always gone for girls my height or taller though ive been converted to the joys of petite girls. it just hits me on a very primal level, so its the norm for guys to be taller than the girls they date. (plus it doesnt hurt the views alot better from above :) )

    should that mean YOU shouldnt date a guy smaller than you? no. if you fancy him you fancy him. go for it, your the only one losing out caring what other people think

    Well being a 5'6" male I'd be on the short side, don't think I'd have any problems dating a girl taller/shorter thant me. Maybe if I were dating a taller girl and my face was at chest height I'd suggest that she be careful of how she hugs me in public just because it'd look a bit wrong:o, other than that though....:confused:

    I think attraction is about chemistry, pure and simple. I think people who can coldly base it on a shopping list of features such as height, weight, nationality, career etc are missing out big time.

    Well I don't really have a problem with an inch or 2 as I'm 5 9', and I'm usually taller than alot of guys in heels. My ex was the same height as me but I never though twice about him not being taller. Though it can be awkwrd if its an issue for the guy! Taller guys do make me feel more 'dainty' though:D

    it wouldn't really bother me all that much, as long as it wasn't a massive difference. couple of inches (weyoooo) is grand. I'm 5ft 7 btw.
    like a lot of women, i would prefer taller but really depends on the guy.

    I think 5'6/5'7 is an ideal height for girls compared to me.


    Not too small but still has the height I like on girls so it's comftorble all around.

    Although height isn't the most important thing to me.

    I'm 5'8".. a couple of inches smaller than me, I could handle, but I wouldn't want some lad at chest level.. It's difficult enough to get boys to look you in the eye when they're talking to you ;) Hubby is about 5' 11" and that's just perfick, I don't wear heals, ever. Evil things..

    THB I wouldn't have much of a problem with a guys height. I'm 5'4 and my bf is about 5'6. If he was way smaller than me I wouldn't be too keen on it, but it really depends on their personality;)

    I can only date taller men,im 6'1'. I once dated a guy the same height as me but Its just not for me.Its much more rosemantic when your reaching up to kiss a fella :)

    I'm 5 ft 11 in my bare feet. Had an ex who was 6 ft 5, another who was about 5 ft 5.

    The short guy was packing a huge Napoleon complex and was hugely arrogant and aggressive - it didn't last long. Generally speaking, I'd prefer men my own height or taller.

    my wife is exactly the same height for me, but i have never had a problem with going out with soeone who was taller than me in the past.

    sure, women are like pianos, when theyre not upright, theyre grand.

    and there was never any trouble climbing a fallen log :)

    My boyfriend is an inch or two taller than me at most, and if I wear heels I'm taller than him. I've never had a problem with it, nor has he. I rarely wear heels anyway. My boyfriend is overweight and I'm nearly underweight so it doesn't matter that we're around the same height because I still get the feeling of being with a big manly man if you get me? (Probably not!) Also, I've never been one to go for looks so height really doesn't matter.

    My Granny told me recently that it's ok if you're small as long as you're not fat. :p

    Oh God, I would definetly not like a shorter man, The whole logistics of sex standing up would not work, I am 5'10, I also like wearing heels, It would look ridiculous me with a shorter guy.

    I personally prefer taller men, although at 5'9 it's hard to find guys who are a lot taller.

    Guys around my height are great too, maybe an inch or two shorter, but I would possibly be put off by a guy who was 5'6 or less.

    i am just a smidge over 5'11 barefoot and in all my time travelling across the world i can easily count on two hands (and still have fingers left over) girls/women who were taller than me

    in 3rd year in college there were around 300 girls in my class and only one (she was 6'4 and a monster) was taller, one girl was the same height as me and the rest were shorter
