    This phone is breaking my heart! lol

    I virginised successfully. Restored to 1.1.1, now I cant jailbreak it for some reason............. When i go to apptapp on jailbreakme.com it goes back to the activate me screen but doesnt work! lol

    plug it back into itunes(the way it is now) till it recognises it and then take out the usb and then run the jailbreak again, worked for me

    Im up now on 1.1.1. :) Now im just gonna do some googling about how to mod the iphone and get themes etc, this whole ssh thing confuses me!

    I want to figure out the whole ringtones thing. Any good tutorials? I hate sticking with the standard ringtones. Also i have heard about video on the iphone.....

    Ive installed summerboard, working well, now i just need to figure out this whole ringtone thing. I see you can use send song for sending music to emails, is there any simple customize software (like smb) to edit the sounds? Use songs out of your ipod folder etc>

    When you sync your iphone the ringtones will be whipped, its just a matter of sending the ringtone over again thou so no biggy.

    Hi,

    I just got back from USA this morning with an unblocked iPhone. I put my music into the ipod but i really want to get new tones and cool stuff from installer but i am afraid if i have iPhone connected and internet on at the same time it will start updating and crash. Would this be the case if i tried to use installer or would it crash only if i physically pressed update buttons myself??

    You can only update the iphone via itunes just disable auto update, open itunes, edit, pref and uncheck auto check for updates.

    Installer keeps saying 'Failed, cant find host' or else 'you are not connected to EDGE'???

    I was getting wifi all week in New York but when i come home today all the connections seem to be locked or cant find server so i havnt been on wifi today.

    Your not making much sense what do you mean all the connections seem to be locked?You cant access installer without being connected to wifi, i assume your have a wireless router?

    No, i mean when i go into settings>wi-fi connections search, any search results need a code r else the ones without a padlock thing beside thenm it just says 'cant find server'. I have 02modem in my laptop for means of internet connection. In NY i was using my iPhone in my room and in cafes etc. Im assuming i have a total misunderstanding of how to get wi-fi connection on my meteor sim card. Thank you for all your help so far... reading over the pages is just mind boggling, getting confused so easily:o

    So answer is you dont have wifi so you cant access the installer.The only thing you can do is if you have wifi in your laptop you can set up a access point and let the iphone access that. But if your dont know what your doing with the iphone dont go messing it up.

    You can get a app to allow you copy your music from your ipod on iphone to ringtones. But yeah you can get all the "cool" stuff on there.

    Excellent, just one more question if i may. So basicly other than the laptop having a wi-fi let off point (which i dont think it has) the only way of having wi-fi on my iPhone would be by user a wireless router in the house...would this be correct. Many thanks

    Do you have o2 mobile broadband with the usb dongle thing? If so you can buy a wifi router for it;

    Oh top man rc28, i take it like hotels and that around the city(Dublin) would have wi-fi in their lobbies. Well i'd imagine so.... thanks guys
