This is something I did not know. I thought the STANAG agreement was to do with development rather than standardisation. Interesting.

It's not just car companies. Take a look at Samsung. Think they only make tv's? Everything from ic's to LPG transoceanic tankers to computers to aircraft components.

*** thinks of effective ways to utilise an AEG gearbox in a blender...

think of the possibilities if you could stick a systema turbo/magnum motor into a blender?

    willitblend.com anyone? :D

In other news... I noticed the other day i was approaching the 3000 post mark and meant to think of something meaningful and interesting to post to mark the occasion, but i seemed to have blinked and missed that milestone, ah well...

I've been thinking in work, how useful to you would a quick reference charge checker be? Think about it, you charge your batteries and you skirmish away. You stop for a break and you start to think "should I stick my batteries on fast charge or are they ok?". I'm thinking of building something small you can just quickly plug in and get a fast visual refernce of remaining battery

    sounds good

Think I'll put a prototype together for 8.4v batteries for the craic during my break tomorrow.

I'm always building these random parts that are perfectly useful but I end up just leaving them in a box when I get them working because the challenge is over! My mates always go rooting through it for things they might want when they come over. Maybe I should produce them and make some moolah out of them

    That would be excellent!

why cant some one make a high-cap that works propoerly,or one that doesnt vanish into thin air

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

Speaking of hicaps, i was just thinking about them today and using air pressure to load the mags, i have this flexible piping stuff that fits a BB perfectly and i was thinking if there was pressure on one end and the other leading into the mag, its not perfect yet but i think its a good idea., could fill about 2 foot of it with bbs and then have some sort of method for airpressure on the end, maybe one of those little Co2 cartridges.,

which means you have a complicated hi-cap thats will have more problems thans its worth, just need to rework the spring and winding system, oh almost forgot

    GooooooooooooooooooodMorning SKIRMISHNAMMMMMMMM'

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

i think it would be a lot less complicated, theres less moving parts in it, im just playing around with it at the moment, i converted the little fellas TM AEP to fire full auto and no im just trying to rig it to take a lot more ammo, its empties in seconds.,lol.,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,291 ✭✭✭✭Gatling

    little fellas aep .
see the problem with the gas is you have to carry cartridges ,if you run out no winding and more cash outlay ,basicly more gear to carry more money to spend ,its down to the spring it that can be adjusted to just the right tension hi-caps will work perfectly, just need to stop the rattle then

lol., he has an M9 aep, hes only 4 and hes airsoft mad, he wanted to come in to hrta the other day when he saw all the people with camo.,lol.,
im doing a few little airsoft projects at the mo., have to see if anyone has a damaged aeg i can get my hands on aswell now that i remember., dont need to function at all just have a usable frame., :)

thats a bit young for airsofts ,exactly why the media go into overdrive about the sport ,when i get some mags im going try an idea out that just might solve the hi-cap feedind problem,il leave the windind to someone else

Get in line! I need frames and bodies for this film project. All the experiments I'm doing on my G36 while I wait for confirmation on these XM8 bodies is starting to take it's toll on my rifle. I've already broken my hop unit (again, I've to order number 4 now).

I need bodies like a victorian surgeon needs bodies

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

speaking of surgeons needing bodies, i was just watching a short film about body snatching .,lol.,
@Gatling, hes only 4 but i dont let him run riot with it, hes actually more responsible with it than some of the kids at hrta the other day, he wont use it until hes wearing his motorbike goggles and never shoots anyone unless its me and i tell him to., :) then he loves it.,lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

I still need bodies. I feel like a zombie. Bring me bodies. I saw those Cx4 Storm rifles in springer form, I'm thinking of getting one, gutting it and converting it into a flechette rifle for this little project.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,291 ✭✭✭✭Gatling

the only problem with them is they only take pistol mags, the springers would have been grand for the movie project your doing ,they look alot better with a silencer on them, when thats done project 11 can get started

what sort of bodies you after nakedDex? im after something along the lines or a g36 or similar with a kinda large body, dont have to function at all.,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

The flechette weapon I'm gonna modify it into won't need any visible loading points. I'm gonna build that into a seperate point using a light system I'm working on. I only want it for it's body, kind of like my feelings toward Tara Reid. I may use a Type 95 either. I want something slightly raked but still something less known to the average movie watcher.

I wouldn't say no to a G36 body but I think that may be a little too familiar with the general movie viewing populace for me to modify without some heavy rebuild work. I would however like a G36c to try to build my OICW for myself, but thats further down the pipeline. Maybe in 6 months or so. I'm still trying to figure out a way to get a working 20mm element so the OICW would be worth lugging around.

I want any body that's not the type you'd normally see in a movie, hence why I want some XM8s and maybe some Cx4s
