Should I call in sick?

Even if your not callin sick why not just quit the job and live off the land like an animal.

Call in sick - there is a bit of a bug that is going around...And if you feel slightly unwell anyway, then you are better off. Work on the presentation and go back to work feeling better.

Only thing is, you shouldn't do it too often or they wil either cop it or get tired of hearing it and demand doctor's certs and things like that...If you leave the job you will need a reference or it might be handy to step back into the job some Summer if you are between jobs...

The fact that you've posted the question up here would lead Pighead to conclude that you are in fact NOT SICK. If you were sick you would have called in already without hesitation. You have started imagining symptons at this stage. You're mind is trying to fool you're body that you are sick.

People have been doing this since the beginning of time. If you were to see a doctor right now he would say "Faith in my professional opinion you are NOT SICK. However if you suck my todger, I will consider giving you a sick note"

It really is up to you Faith but if you want Pigheads advice, GO TO WORK.

I agree with Tazz. If you're sick, don't work with food. The boss can shag off.

I think that time management is really something you should be examining as opposed to making up excuses for your procrastination over your college work.

Maybe if you didn't post on internet forums you might be able to free up enough time to do both your college stuff and make it to your part time job.

Just some thoughts for you.

The important question is do you get paid when you're sick ..if so then yes call in sick if not then start brushin your teeth your late

I'm very happy indeed and no, I'm not faith's boss....

Her thread seemed to be focusing on the wrong areas - instead of seeking validation for pulling a sickie because she's that needy it might be a better idea to examine the issues that have led her to this decision in the first place. i.e. Can't be arsed going to work

If you can't be arsed going to work and you have a reasonable attendance record pull a sickie FFS! It's not like she's a linchpin in a major investment bank or anything

feck him . there is a weird bug doing the rounds and half the people i know are down with it. not quite the flu but elements of it. if you work with food its a hygene issue to boot.

but even if its not, feck him again! we've got the lowest number of day's off in western europe. its your patriotic duty to bunk off at least 5 times a year to bring up the average

havent pulled a sickie myself in ages but then again im working now so you can guess how hard my job is ! best advise to bunking off is dont do it on a monday or a friday. they cop pretty quick your either going on or recovering from the beer (so being wednesday your boss, while pissed, probably belives your on the level). and put at least 2 months between bunks.

TBH it really comes down to what your working policy is. my place will allow 3 days off before demanding a doctor cert and pay for the time off. in contrast my brother gets feck all for the first 2 WEEKS but then gets 70% of his wages for up to 13 after that. more if he's got a doctors note.

best excuses is the scutters. no one wants to admit theyve got em and no boss wants to push the issue.

if your pissed off with your employer and just want out by being a bitch ya can claim "mental fatigue/exaustion" its so vague it can mean anyting from a mental breakdown to just not being arsed turning up. but the single best on is "nerves" . do the acting well and the doctors will give you certs for as long as you like and theres not an employer in the country that wants to look like its attacking the afflicted
