yeah i'm guessing most women convince themselves they have more bone than they do. did you not read my post? i thought i couldn't lose the 'bone' either

Oh no, I understand, but it is true, very true in fact, that some women simply couldn't be anything smaller (let's be reasonable here) than a size 10 or 12 because of their bone structure. A petite woman (under 5ft tall lets say) may have the same bmi and fat percentage (and yes, I do know what they are) as someone who's 5' 6'' and someone who is 6ft' tall, however they would be completely different sizes. Obvious, isn't it? To say anything to the differ is simply not true; if you have a wide birth canal you'll have big hips and I really doubt there's any exercise which will reduce that.
I'm sorry, but the women with ACTUAL medical conditions are minimal, and as Dragan said, it just makes things a little harder, not impossible.

I really agree with you to the extent that I think you shouldn't make excuses but instead at least try to lose the weight. And tbh I really like your 'can-do' attitude and try to have it myself in all aspects of my life.

But could you not accept that losing weight is not necessarily possible for everyone. The medical condition thing; true, it'd mainly make things harder, not impossible (and I'm not preaching as if I'm expert on this, might I add) but you don't have the same experiences as GENUINE PEOPLE WITH GENUINE MEDICAL PROBLEMS WHO'VE GENUINELY BEEN TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT. Would you not accept that judging from their experiences (assuming they are true) that it really is not always possible to lose weight?
as far as i can see this thread is just full over overweight women trying to justify it to themselves.

    The clear insight you have......

I'm not overweight in the least thank you dearie.

And I was not justifying myself either, just pointing out the obvious; you can't lose bone.

Its all about proportion really, if you're quite short you're obviously not going to look as good at a size 16 as you would at a size 10. Your height will decide what weight is healthy for you. I don't think women should go by size though because there are different shapes. For example I'm a size ten but i have big boobs so i have to buy tops with lycra in them that stretch.

Being overweight to me is the same as being extremely skinny, just as unhealthy. You're just funnelling junk into yourself like, my body has to last me till i'm old i'm not going to mess around with it. You hear of obese people having heart attacks at twenty six or scrawny people having heart failure, i think i'd rather be a normal weight wouldn't you?

Seraphina, just because you lost the weight you wanted to lose (and well done for that) doesn't mean everybody can. I agree, a lot of people make excuses, but some genuinely can't! And I know it's only a tiny minority, but they still count!

no, the minority is so small, it doesn't count. are you trying to tell me all the overweight women on this thread are in that tiny minority?

ahh forget it. fat women in denial, there's no point in even TRYING

Beats looking at the world and seeing no one. ;)

Now then, out of interest, since when was being a size 10 or 12 a bad thing?

It's just that i see that come up a few times...."some woman will never be less than a size 10 or 12".

Is this supposed to be bad or something?

    What's the big deal,

When you turn them upside down they're all the same, maybe different colors and I'm not a racist.

Naw I know there's a huge amount of excuses on this thread but....

I hate exercising. I hate everything about it. It just sucks. And you will never understand that because clearly, you're a gym bunny! Gym Bunny's hardly ever comprehend the sheer phobia people like me have of the gym....

Woah. That was kinda off-topic. Sorry! Brain is mush after a long, busy week!

eh.. whats your point exactly and what does it have to do with this thread?
much as i realise you seem to like making smarmy comments about people, you're supposed to attack the POST, not the poster.

Hmmm.....if you could construct that in some kind of way that makes sense in this thread that would be a real treat. ;)

Also, why is it cool to call people "Fitness Nazi's" and "Gym Bunnies" but if sit here and tell folk they are lazy ( just another label, right? ) thats a bad thing?

    Come on to ****.

well at least you've admitted to yourself what the ACTUAL problem is, and aren't trying to pretend that you exercise loads and eat healthily when clearly you dont (i dont mean you specifically, just people in general)

    I'll "bleedin" tap it!

I'm not a gym bunny, i just joined a couple weeks ago cuz i wanted to tone up or that. Beforehand i thought I'd probably never join a gym cuz i thought exercise was boring etc but i love it now, I feel healthier, fitter more active etc and it makes for a lean figure so its win-win all the way!

Oh no, I don't! I'm practically ANTI-exercise! Only moving round I do is walking my dog and dancing when I go out! :D

I do eat relatively healthily... I eat my junk but I don't feel like it has a huge impact on my figure.

I have no excuses for not exercising, I just don't like it (and don't think it's URGENT either. As I said before I like my size!)

EDIT: 'Gym Bunny' isn't an insult! Gym Bunnies are hot!

My God, someone who doesn't exercise and who is happy! Never in my life!

(And yes, dancing is a good way of getting it done!)

Relax Seraphina. I'm healthy, I'm a size six and I'm (relatively) sure my cholesterol levels are normal... It was a joke.

Shush you, any more of that talk and you might actually have people leaving that cosy little state of denial they're so happily inhabiting. At least wait until the New Year (PP?!??) before you do that ;)

just because you're skinny doesn't mean you're healthy. your cholesterol could still be through the roof. i'm aware it was a joke, but you know there are alot of people out there who aren't joking when they say **** like that.

Hmmm....maybe we should develop a "Fitness Swastika"? We can just bend a load of barbells into the right shape.....with our teeth.

Actually, based on the last few posts, i really do think it's VITAL for EVERYONE to get full check ups and blood work done a minimum of once yearly.

while we are at it my cholesterol level was a 4.1 which is frigging perfect even surprised my self! yep skinny people can have high cholesterol levels so weight has nothing to do with it!

It is that type of smug attitude that keeps alot of people away from gyms.
I am surprised at the pair of you.

are you kidding? have you SEEN the belly on Dragan?!?! :p

G'em wasn't always the hottie with the abs either. they have a reason to be smug. while everyone else is making excuses, they're both in the gym, working their asses off and getting the results other people only dream of.

they are perfectly entitled to be smug if you ask me. you would be too if you lost a couple of stone and dropped many many many inches from hours of hard work.

    Bingo! :D

Thae.....we get called Fitness Nazi's for pointing out that maybe, just maybe folk can try a little harder having spent the guts of two years on this board documenting out own efforts and we can't have a little fun with that?

Zealots come in many shapes and sizes and are converted to many types of causes.
What is one person's dream or aspiration is not the dreams of others.
Just because I gave up smoking I don't lord that over others and tell them they are in denial about thier nicotine addiction.

If you both achieved goals you set for yourself for your own reason then great but that does not mean others want or or can achieve what you have.

yeah but considering the amount of women on this thread complaining they cant lose weight for some reason or another, it seems most of them would aspire (and claim to be trying very hard) to lose weight.
