we must start up a mushroom picking of ireland group and only pick native species and if by accident we pick illegal ones we will despose of them but they will be in with our basket of other legal mushrooms :P

Don't all go blaming Mary Harney though! Why not blame Joe Duffy who was behind the show that highlighted the situation as regards the open selling of them in certain shops around de country... Check out the link to Mondays show when it all started and some well to do mother came on saying her daughter was going to kill herself and wanted to walk out in front of traffic cos she thought the cars would just drive through her... Great show tbh and it starts from the beginning so no need to stream through it at all and then he gets on to the same guy who was selling them on the Tuesday show (linky http://www.rte.ie/radio1/liveline/) and asks him if he's sad that they've been banned :eek: Good for an hours listen I feel.

it was made by diddler so all the credit for it goes to him ... you can see how much liberty caps change so picking them is impossible without a bita research and basically if in doubt **** em out ... dont pick or eat anything your not sure ... its not worth the hastle and if you pick something and arnt with someone experianced then take 6-7 pictures from different angles and post it to any of the mushroom forums and the lads/lassies there will tell you if its ok

Now i DONT think i broke the rules there cause i didnt really say anything illegal or tell them where to go ... if i did im sorry and ill edit all the stuff out i respect boards.ie policy on drugs ... its stern but fair haha (wrote that before the you posted giblet)

haha mountain lips i was only joking and pointing out what this law will mean to anyone who has them naturally growing ... the most ive seen a libery cap is about 3inches tall and the stem the width of a pencil led ... if that sounds right then your my new best friend and can i come visit you around september haha

Giblet i read the new charter and i still think the link should be allowed because it doesnt tell you where to pick them and how to pick them its just the charateristics of them its like ....

oak trees ... grows to a hieght of blah... has certain colour leaves, the trees shape is like blah, and heres some pictures of oak trees ... its scientific facts not a hunting guide ... i wouldnt dare post a hunting guide here but my biggest fear is that people arnt educated what ones not to pick and could die. If you still think i shouldnt post it then i wont bring this up again

why not just go picking them with some1 who knows what they look like.

personally im not into walking around fields picking mushrooms, it takes to long to get the quantities required to get a serious trip off em.

i have enough there for 5 quality sessions anyways after that ill just by a growing kit and make my own bad boys!

the mexican truffles are like little balls of chocolate they arent really like shrooms at all

and its not a guide on how to pick them its litterally just a sientific identification of a species

But i do take on board your point and if you think that it shouldnt be posted then people will just have to go without or search for older posts or on different forums or google or what ever. I just cant stress enough thath people should spend about 2days of constant reading before picking or if possible go with someone experianced the first time.

And rick truffles are manky tasting

ive actually only tried them once and spent about 2 hours trying not to puke and then in the end gave in and puked

i never even get nausia on mushrooms never mind puke

think it was the texture tho

yeah the truffles taste pretty manky but they give u a good old trip on one punnet.

they taste kinda metally when u chew them, but there are grand if u wash em down with a bottle of wine or spirits of some sort!

beer and truffles dont go well together

Heard that theres not many visuals on truffles, but i think its time to give them another shot while theres still some kicking around... and you said you had 5 punnets but your not going to trip on your own so youve only 2 n half trips left

I heard that the TV3 poll ended up that only 45% of the public are happy with the ban ... yet again the poeple we apointed to represent our views make another mistake. Cant wait to see what **** up the guards new penilty points system thing will bring .. and how many million we will spend to either try fix it or store the useless machines

Where did you hear this? I have not heard the actual law yet, but the only thing I heard in reports was that it was illegal to sell and consume

Sorry but that statement makes about as much sense as the law change. The djvu file shows about 10 photographic images of the most common psilocybin containing indigenous species (P. semilanceata) + a written physical description. It does not at any point encourage ANYONE to ingest them!! I hope you're not suggesting it does! (that would be libelous.) It's purpose is to provide a description of a species of fungus. It is intended to be educational. Just like PTL has already said.

The charter now reads:

EDIT: Magic Mushrooms have now been made illegal. Again, talking about them will not get you banned. Giving advice about how to take, grow, store or process them will get you banned. Mature discussion is allowed and encouraged.

The document breaks NONE of those rules.

btw even a google image search with strict SafeSearch filtering allows images of shrooms to be seen.

Mushroom kits are most definitely ILLEGAL according to the letter of the law. They contain mycelium which contain the psilocybin etc.

SPORES are NOT illegal because they do not contain psilocin or its phosphate esters. They are in the same sort of legal area as cannabis seeds I suppose, would be the best comparison.

There are no psilocybin containing plants other than fungi. There are a number of non-psilocybin containing hallucinogenic fungi like fly agaric (legal). Really for anyone that wants to trip there are still many ways to legally do so.

There are more issues regarding such guides that you may have taken into account. I've asked an admin what the stance is. This is not a boards.ie crackdown, more-so protecting itself from more crazyness with regards to the laws. Who knows what could happen if someone said they got that guide from here and used it to pick mushrooms. No matter how frivilous it may be, it may bring down unwanted attention.

As i've said, I've brought up the issue with an admin, and they have the final word.

Just to point out, I do not agree with the new law. Nor was I suggesting this document in anyway gave details on how to cultivate mushrooms or suggest you take them.

It should be noted that may people do not enjoy the effects of Fly Agaric mushrooms and it should in no way be considered an alternative to Psilocybe mushrooms. Head Shops in the UK started selling these as an alternative and I sincerely hope this does not happen here. Anybody considering experimenting with these should educate themselves on its risks effects etc.

fly agaric mushrooms I found to be in no way fun or enjoyable, they are nothing like a psilocybe high and users can experience extreme nausau on them, I have seen people become serouisly delerouis on them, not something to be used recreationally.

Unless a species or plant/animal or fungus is specifically mentioned in law then it is legal, no grey areas, no loopholes, LEGAL. If not then vast majority of drugs in health food shops are also "in a state of limbo", as would most foods in the supermarket. But they are not in limbo they are legal unless specifically mentioned or in a rounded up way like how the UK have said "all psilocybin containing fungus".

Amanitas are toxic in high does, they are easily spotted. You can go down to woodies and pick up items that produces a similar enough high to shrooms or LSD. There are 100's of legal species still out there.
