IMHO, the nicest thing you can do to a figroll is roll a slice of calvita (or any other processed cheese-slice, even real cheddar cheese will do) and wrap it around said fig-roll.

Seriously it's one of those ugh wtf things. Yet it tastes heavenly, I swear it's frickin delicious! Cross my heart

Handed in an essay, did a good presentation in a tutorial, did a fun (though not necessarily any good) show on BelfieldFM, and just had a great big Fry-up.

Seems good. You get a box about the size of a thin book, which you connect to a power outlet and (via Ethernet cable) to your computer (PC/Mac). You then point the magic box at a window - the website has a tool for checking your address, it said I was OK, but in fact it only worked at one window, not the other.

Then you're online; you pay e40 a month for 1MBps or e50 for 2MBps, although it's e30 for either package for the first 6 months. You need to sign up for a year, and pay e40 to connect.

Did various pinging tests, and seems to be very reliable; although the Broadband boards say it's not great for serious gaming or P2P, and that you should use a fixed connection if that's what you need.

I don't have broadband at all at my address (i.e. through the tell a phony line) so going wireless/satellite was my only option. But it seems good enough. Also, I'm ditching my phone line and dial-up ISP, so it's basically the same cost, but with much greater speed.

hrmm - kinda torn between that and ntl - but if we get in ntl cable then we might actually have to start paying for cable - as they have a ground box on our land we have a bit of a makeshift wired connection :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,203 ✭✭✭✭Crash

They aint paying us jack **** for the box on our land so... - Serenity - dont think its really possible.

what legal basis do they have for keeping it there? is it like the telephone poles where ye can normally request/force them to get it moved?
