Probably order it while off your face too. :D

I'll have you know, I am never off my.... never mind :D

I wouldn't bother with those tbh. If I had ridiculous amounts of time, I'd buy myself a decent woodworking workshop and teach myself how to build them.

Yeah, if you had ridiculous amounts of time that might be an idea... But if you had ridiculous amounts of money and were too busy ****ing hot chicks or playing stadiums, it would be far better to pay someone else to do all the work for you.

TBH, it's more likely I'd be rich from the lotto rather than music.

That's a very defeatist attitude! Why not whore yourself out as a session guitarist?

I prefer to call it a realistic attitude...

Nah, until I stopped drinking too much I could never afford any nice gear. Now that I've listened to my liver I find getting good stuff is a much more realistic proposition and much more fun too. Aim high.

    Give... up ... drinking?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Not entirely, but a night out consists of about two pints now, whereas it used to be a half bottle of vodka and half a trip before I'd even get the bus into town. I can remember stuff now :)

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Meh, I'm on 4 pints these nights.

    Getting old :(

Karl, take a look see at that. Russian custom shop. By all accounts, fantastic work.

Nice. Something very Ibanez-esque about that one on the home page.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Yeah. I just priced up my one (basically a KH-2 copy). $2201 with case and that's if I get stung for import which 90% don't apparently...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

Nice. What's the deal with these? Something about the fact that they're built to order or something that they're escaping the import crap?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

They're just a Russian custom shop. Ask about them on guitar.com if you've any worries. One of the employees posts as rockandroller and a few people have bought Shamray guitars.

Hmm... The more I think of it, the more I think I'll be going with a fixed bridge.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    Good idea.

You getting a 7 or 8 string now?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

I'll definetly be getting the Stealth 7 string, but I'm sure another year I can get the 8.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Yeah... How can you afford all this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

He gets a lot of money from his endorsements

    I've got sponsors too...

Like I said, all I'd need to do is pop into the credit union and tell 'em I need the money for a new laptop, and there's the money for the Stealth right there. Not like I have a few thousand in big lump sums, but if I get a loan, and pay it off, it's not exactly that significant.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Meh, I suppose people take loans for laptops and holidays, why not guitars?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Yeah but going into debt for a guitar called "Shamray"? Nah.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

That's why you get them to put Gibson on the headstock which is quite legal seeing as it isn't a trademark outside the US.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Really? Ha ha ha, I've got a few "Gibson"s at home if you want. Going very cheap ;)

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Are these the ones with "Gubson" written on the head with permanent marker?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

    Permanent?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    Yes...
