Erm, it's pretty much perfect now. Maybe it'll get another EMG, maybe not.
Hopefully I'll get addicted to 8-string or quarter tone 7-string and the poor thing can retire.
My girlfriend calls it my 'slut'. Not sure what to think of that...

Why did you do that to that poor Universe :(

The acoustic looks out of proportion or something...

Yeah, and one of his Stealths only had a single coil in the neck position - strange, IMO.

I'm pretty sure his stealths were just humbucker in bridge position layout.

Personally, I wouldn't lose the trem, or the neck humbucker, but that's just me.

Feylya you're not serious are you? That Universe is now part of me lol :D
It's taken almost 10 years to get to that stage. A process of evolution if you will :p

The first acoustic is a seven too, the second is a nylon with a larger lower bout and narrow waist. I'd say they were nicely proportioned, have you been conditioned by dreadnought dis-proportion :D Those photos are pretty ordinary. Don't have any others here at home :(
The cutaway goes right to the centre of the body btw

A seven string acoustic? Now there's something I've never really considered before!

    What tuning is it in?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21 dpmasunder

Good question, I had it in standard B-e to test everything, it was bought by a Scot who tunes it ADADGAD, and a couple of other tunings

    Hey. newbie here

I read that you live in Ireland. Do you know how much your import taxes will be? I live in Scotland and am interested in getting one of these guitars but i am unsure.
    Thanks
    Jamie

Not sure. I suppose I can tell you when and if I ever get the guitar.
Could be quite a while. :D

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,365 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Jam, Scottish import taxes are different to Irish ones. LGM is based in Canada.

    How so?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

    How so?

As in they might charge different rates.

I think the Irish tax might be 8.5% from what I can find on google. Probably not the same as you'll get in scotland, but it can be used as a rough guideline.

Scottish VAT is less than Irish VAT afaik. 19% compared to 21% I think. Not 100% though.

Well, I found that the bloke over on the extended range guitar forum got his 8 string at last. So I'll probably get loads of feedback from him now! So far he's got nothing but good things to say, which is very encouraging.

    Check the attachments.

Yeah, i was looking at his guitar on that forum to. it's a beast!!!. it looks very comfy as well, not to difficult to play. I am swaying towards an 8-string now aswell.God help us all!! were all going to be playing them soon. :D

The controls are too close together...

I'd probably ask for the controls to be in the same position as on my Virgin (And provide pics, of course) as they're what I'm used to. Volume - Switch - Tone, all in line, no mucking about. :D

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,365 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Vol - Vol - Tone, 3 way slotted parellal to them.

    The only way.

Well that sounds like a wager if I've ever heard one.
    Ok, you're on!

No, YOU don't make any sense!! :p

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,365 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    I know.

Hmmm, this 8 string malarkey is getting me interested but tbh, I don't really use the 7th string on my 7.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

    Well then snip it. :D

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,365 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Well, I use it occasionally. Must learn some 7 string runs and chords.

The thoughts of 8 string runs and chords get me really quite excited.

wow, i just came across this thread now. That is such a cool idea. Hope it works out for you. A 7 string is hard enough for me to play, god only knows how i would cope with 8!
