Anyone ever do one near Manchester Airport.

Flight at 6:30 on Saturday for a match at 12:45 be nice to get a parkrun in at 9am.
Preferably not mucky.

Appreciate the enthusiasm, have done Tourmakeady, nice and challenging 2 lap course, but posts like that, especially when posted twice by accident, come accross as spammy. Personal antidotes or introducing yourself as part of the core team, would be more likely to garner a positive response.

Meanwhile in Berlin, there was an interesting take off in Templehoff as a new parkrun was set up in the former airport starting this morning. Certainly a flat course and the event director, an English guy, told a podcast recently he hopes that it can stay open on marathon weekends as other Berlin parkruns have a cancel as they can't handle big crowds.

Thank you everyone for the clarification. I always assumed Marlay was the only one in the country that would push above 500 regularly so consider me educated. 🙂

Meanwhile we welcomed two new courses today, both on the North coast, one each side of the border. In Northern Ireland we have Riverside, Ballymoney and in Donegal we got Ards Forest Park in Creeslough.

some people just love something to complain about. I recall about 10 years ago (maybe more 😩) a woman in St Annes sticking her shoulder into me as I ran past her. She was coming towards me on the footpath so I moved onto the grass to go around her and she stuck the shoulder out. She then went to run director and complained about it.
Some people think that their entitlement trumps everyone else and resent anyone else using ‘their park’.

That said earlier this year I was being lapped in St Annes and saw a guy bang into a dog walker and continue without stopping which is really not on. Reported it when I finished first lap but damage is done at that point.

The RDs are at pains every week to tell parkrunners to give way to other park users but not everyone will listen unfortunately. Entitlement on both sides

I wouldn't imagine so. Two weeks ago the 'another way 5k' course route was changed due to the park being unusable.

I'm fairly close to the park and havn't heard anything about works/repairs etc.

Seems the North is getting loads of new parkruns (there is another one coming AFAIK). Down here, and especially south of Dublin there seems to be absolutely nothing, with loads of possible places for one. Not even small community ones are starting.
