Empty case / Used ammo

    What is the legal way of disposing of empty cases I know one empty case is equivalent to one round of live ammo is there guidelines for this

    I guess you mean brass ammo?

    Plenty lads melt them down for machining. I have kept mine for this exact reason.

    Two recommended methods are scrap yard and/or RFD/Range. Nothing in law, AFAIK, just recommendations.

    The scrap yard should have an RFD license ro accept them which ive yet to see. IOW ive never known any scrap yard to hold such a license simply to take empty casings.

    The most common would be your local range. Even if you are not a member they usually have collection buckets and there shouldn't be a problem dropping off any empties there.

    Leave em at a range , usually a scrap person collects them from the range

    The way it worked at one range was the scrap man came with a portable furnace and melted them down at the range an brought that with them
