    IDF under grave pressure

    Israel's opposition leader, Yair Lapid, has accused the government of sending the army into a war without a strategy and with too few soldiers.

    In a video statement delivered in Hebrew, Lapid says: "The IDF is stretched to the limit and beyond. The government is leaving the army wounded out on the battlefield."

    Lapid says the government is sending the army into a "multi-theat war without a strategy, without the necessary means, and with far too few soldiers". He adds that reservists are "worn out and exhausted and can no longer meet our security challenges".

    He calls on the government to draft men from the ultra-Orthodox Haredi community - those who devote themselves full-time to the study of sacred Jewish texts and who since the creation of Israel in 1948 are often exempt from mandatory military service in Israel.

    His statement follows military chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir warning the security cabinet yesterday that "the IDF is on the verge of collapse", according to Israeli media reports.

    @threeball “No Israeli troops heading over to Iran”, how exactly do you expect them to get there? They obviously arent neighbouring countries.

    But you have to admit that their intelligence about a lot of things within Iran is top notch, but what amuses me is the Apple TV show Tehran now on season 3, has always shown Mossad following internal Iranian traffic cameras and cctv, didnt any Iranians watch it?

    Doesnt the concept of a dome mean coverage? Havent you seen the rockets launched at Israel even prior to this war? The houthis for example, they were at war with Saudi Arabia but decided to launch ballistic missiles into Israel, why?

    Will be interesting to see how far these two get in the next 12 hours.

    Israel shut down Al Jazeera from reporting in Israel and Gaza. And now Met Police Special Constable David Soffer thinks he can stop Al Jazeera journos from doing their job in UK.

    Al Jazeera left the scene, possibly to de-escalate…

    https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/mar/26/volunteer-met-officer-sought-to-intimidate-al-jazeera-journalists
    “Soffer, 34, was identified by the investigative journalism organisation Declassified UK on Thursday – after footage had emerged on social media. The outlet reported that the footage showed a group of men surrounding the Al Jazeera film crew, shouting “go home”.

    “It said Soffer approached one of the Al Jazeera journalists, who is Palestinian, calling him a “dog” and a “donkey” in Arabic. “Go back to Qatar,” he was heard to say. “Get out of here, you donkey.” [Qatari government partially funds Al Jazeera]

    STARRY: ^^^ The Met doesn’t have much to investigate, as abusive David Soffer and the mob are captured on video.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c9d45ejxz5qo

    “A female reporter told Soffer "shame on you" after she believed he suggested that she was an antisemite. He told her he could define his own racism.

    “Soffer then told them no Jewish person was going to hurt the team but no one was going to talk to them.

    STARRY: ^^^ Soffer saying no Jewish person was going to hurt the team might have sounded like a veiled threat when he’s standing at the helm of the mob... Off-duty volunteer police officer Soffer approaching a Palestinian journalist and calling him a dog and a donkey is dehumanising and discriminatory language. It’s not exemplary conduct by Soffer and the MET should have zero tolerance.

    Further, Soffer was trying to stifle the freedom of the press when he called the Al Jazeera female reporter an anti semitic.

    Finally, his continual use of racist language makes him unfit for the role of Met Police Special Constable. E.G., Soffer supported far right Islamphobic Tommy Robinson’s stance in 2024: ~

    Below is supporing evidence of Soffer's continual hatred of Palestinians: ~
    https://www.declassifieduk.org/revealed-man-filmed-in-al-jazeera-intimidation-mob-is-met-police-officer/

    “In 2024, the far-right activist Tommy Robinson posted an image on Twitter saying “**** Palestine”, adding: “The shithole is full of inbred Islamist parasites and terrorists.”

    Soffer responded, saying that Robinson “is telling the truth” and that Israel will “justly finish” the war in Gaza.

    Well, no they will simply hide and refuse to address it but appear later to argue semantics with their usual pedantry until the actual story is buried pages back.

    Bought and paid for by the Americans. They're entire existence depends on US and British aid. And thats fading quickly. Its going to be an election issue at the midterms. Israel as a state is about to fail. Brought entirely on themselves. The only downside is a bunch of psychopaths are about to be dispersed around the world.

    US considering sending more troops to the region in case Iran has the temerity to resist Nero's conditions to end the conflict.

    The same old playbook, diplomacy theatrics, military build up, negotiations collapse meaning military action is now totally justified. Then in the coming months, when things start to break in economies around the world he can just blame Iran for causing it, and many will.

    Oh, dear! You say a dome is for coverage! The Dome of the Rock, Haggia Sophia, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Capitol in D.C.! Is it just something to keep the rain and bird sh1t out?

    Of course, Israel has reinvented the concept of a dome for military purposes which is why I must thank you for continuing to mention it.

    A long time ago, Israel realised that it needed to protect itself from retaliation after they attacked neighbouring countries. This is why they are investing so much in the Iron Dome. It hasn’t worked in this war. Iranian bombs and drone debris are dropping through it. So now they want to develop a better dome as they know the realisation of a Greater Israel will result in a need for even more protection. It is in chapter 1, page 1 of the Zionist Handbook … Protecting Israel against Retaliation.

    It is easy to be disingenuous. The dome is a purely defensive measure. Wednesday will be the start of the third month of the war. Back in February, very few would have expected Iran to hold out against the might of the US and Israel into a third month.

    The war started on the 28th February. 3 months???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,214 ✭✭✭wildgreen

    1 = February

    2 = March

    3 = April

    Probably no one, except themselves, would have expected Iran to hold out so long!

    https://financialpost.com/commodities/energy/oil-gas/iran-oil-revenue-soars-hormuz

    Based on export estimates from Tankertrackers.com and prices for the country’s flagship grade Iranian Light, Tehran would have earned about US$139 million a day from sales of its main Iranian Light crude blend so far in March, up from US$115 million in February.

    From the bits of it I've seen quoted Tankertracker is fascinating but there really isn't anyway to view it without a subscription.

    Oil continues it's march north. Good to see nobody fell for Trump's 10 day extension this time.

    It took me about 20 seconds on Google to discover that the Pakistani media had denied the claim and that none of the other main sites were reporting it. In general, if it's posted on Twitshow by someone few people have ever heard of, it's automatically suspect. All sides in this and every conflict are spewing out propaganda 24/7.

    Another problem with seizing Kharg island is that any damage will only add to output delay which is estimated to keep oil elevated well into next year as is. So the more Trump tinkers with trying to fix the mess he created the worse it will get for his voters at the pump, but hey, they'll still blame Obama/Biden/trans gender toilets and windfarms.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,359 ✭✭✭Tazz T

    The war for Kharg island will lead to its complete destruction. And the US will no doubt blame Iran for not 'surrendering'. It will be an existentialist war for Iran. What would the US do if one of it's island was invaded?

    Iranian media on Iran's missile and kamikaze drone production. Currently are producing 400 / day and used only 8 days worth of capacity in this conflict.

    Considering they have been making these things for years in preparation for this, who knows how many they have made in the last 5 years or so. They hardly used any in last years conflict.

    I guess this is Israel laying the groundwork for its chosen people to not actually fight their wars against countries that can fight back. America can do that and America will then sanction Europe for not joining.

    Either that or their military straight-up falls apart when asked to kill soldiers instead of women and children. Those guys from Brooklyn didn't sign up for war against Iran, they signed up for shooting starving people at aid stations.
