My daughter is looking for a car, possibly a Zoe. Must be cheap. Now there are very cheap battery lease ones in the UK, for under £1k

No VRT importing one and VAT and duty are based on the invoice price, so just a few hundred quid. Making this a very attractive proposition

    My 2 questions:

    1. How much have you paid Renault and when was that in the last few years to buy out the lease on your Zoe?
    2. Anyone buy a battery lease Zoe in the UK - what was the process of transferring the lease over, or did you even bother?

    Holy thread revival Batman!

Anyone got a trick to check if a 2015 Zoe is battery lease or battery owned?

    Seller has claimed it’s owned.
    Just want to double check.

If the seller has no written proof, then the only answer is that you will have to check with Renault Finance

BTW my daughter did get a Zoe soon after my previous post. Paid €2000 for it. I got another one for her best friend a few months later for €1700. Our Zoe did need a bit of work over the 6-7 months we had it like a couple of tyres, shocks and a new subframe but I found one in Kilcock dismantlers for €50. Passed the NCT again then no bother. Sold it on for a profit because we found her a bargain eGolf. She is 19 and her car is newer than mine 😅

    Cheers.
Renault Finance confirmed no battery lease.

I was thinking it was very early Zoes that had battery lease bundled, and it was much less popular after 2014?

My thoughts too but there's a few in the UK with battery leases. So they could have made the swim across the water!
