It's printed inside the drivers door on the B pillar. 2.6 bar front, 2.5 bar back.

Depends on wheel size also 18" are 1psi lower.

If you have 20" make sure you keep pressure correct. I dented two passenger side ones on a pothole. Was meeting a car on country road I didn't know in the dark and couldn't avoid it. Front lost pressure instantly and back was only slowly losing pressure. Had to get tow truck home. Good 5 year breakdown cover with renault warranty though. I could have got a hire car for week for free also if I needed but didn't bother as wife was off work and could use her car.

I've had them repaired thankfully but it has me considering my options. New alloys would have been €700 each. The 20" are definetly vunerable. I'll get a spare wheel anyway to keep at home but might even pick up full set of 18s with all season or winter tyres. At least I wont end up with car on stands for a week over christmas again while I wait for tyre shop to reopen!

Only kerbed one last night, thankfully no tyre damage. Coming from a much bigger car the tight turning circle on the Meg means you have two be super careful when near kerbs, very easy to catch them, and the rim protection does nothing.

They are easily enough damaged alright being so low profile. Thankfully I haven't damaged or kerbed the outside face. Dents were on inner edge. The 360 and wing mirror cameras on Iconic spec are excelent for lining up when you need to get tight to the kerb.

Is the Android Dash Cam app working for anyone with new MY26 cars? It became available back in September for some people but stopped working.quickly. I could load it at time but it never worked. Doesn't load now even though I can see it installed tstal.

Service due in March hopefully some updates then get it working. Will get one pedal driving upgrade also, supposed to be available for my car. I haven't had OTA updates since I got the the car. I know some cars with smaller screen have got one recently that improved sound quality.

Probably a silly question but I can't seem to view tyre pressure on either screen in the new Megane !

Newer cars don't come with individual tyre pressure sensors. They monitor wheel speed to dectect loss of pressure. You set when you've checked tyre pressure on each wheel and will have to reset if it comes on after you pump tyres. Strangly doesn't say which wheel when you lose pressure, just a warning to check wheel pressures. VAG using same system will tell you which wheel to check.

Not seeing the dashcam app, guessing it would be in the Android Auto interface?

Had a look but could not see any way to install

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 219 ✭✭dsandson

I havent seen it in the Automotive Google store. I think its only working on the Scenic, so must've been a mistake to be available for the Megane.

Still appearing as installed if I search play store but no way of opening it. Hoping it get's upgraded to it soon. I've been putting of buying a new dash cam waiting for it.

Has anyone noticed a very loud electric motor whine noise inside the car on the new Megane?

I had a 2023 model before and never noticed it. It is noticeable above 60kmh but when you go above 110kmh it is nearly uncomfortable

Buying out first EV. Looking at 2023 Meganes. Seem good value at €23-25000 compared to MG4, Kona, Niro which are the other options we're looking at.

Would anyone here recommend coming up a year or two. I believe newer models have heatpump, v2l and better range.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 219 ✭✭dsandson

Models with a + on the end of the trim name have the larger screen and the heat pump as standard. Only the very new Alpine trims have the V2L, but it loses 22kW AC charging, downgrading to 11kW.

Depends how many longer trips you do in the winter ref the heat pump. Maybe have a look at A Better Route Planner app or website and try some routes to see how they compare.

I wouldnt pay money for a heatpump at all to be honest. Not a penny. From experience having EVs with and without them.

Will you ever use V2L? I have V2L myself and apart from trying it to see if it works, have never used it. Its cool technology though in fairness.

Newer models wont have better range in real world unless battery size is different. Efficiency will be the same.

I wouldn't bother paying extra for a newer car that has a heat pump. I went for a 2024 + model to get one that has a heat pump, but I have no idea if I have ever used it as I charge from hone 90% of the time. Larger screen was introduced in mid 2024, but the car also lost a couple of features such as individual tire pressure monitoring and alcantara door trim. Also the new infotainment graphics that were introduced at the same time are generally disliked compared to the previous display with digital analogue dials.

I think late 23, early 24 is the sweet spot. Absolutely love the car BTW.

Test drove one recently. Drove is being generous, it was a few hundred metres. Quite liked it.

Hi all! I’m interested in going for a Megane, and with an upcoming sale seems like a good time! The range etc looks good with around 300 in winter it seems? I’m looking at this one from 2024, however would I be right that these don’t have android automotive which has built in maps showing how much battery you’ll have when you reach a destination etc, like the new r5/4 or the continental meganes? Thanks!

I believe they do have android automotive. R LInk with built in google i think they call it. The scenic from 2024 I helped a work colleague buy has it anyway. Megane and Scenic are very closely related apart from size

Megane is 100% Android Automotive! It's a really lovely car and you won't regret it!

Evolution Spec doesn't have built in Nav, you can just use Android Auto. They are very rare though. Most cars around are Launch Edition which is equivalent to Iconic Spec and Techno which have Google Maps built in. Works very well.

Had to crop as I was doxing myself! Best winter distance I've got. 335kn N52 up to Banbridge and back. 98% down to 3%! 14 degrees on way up helped though I did have do a few over takes which did cost range. 4 degrees on way home. All in Eco mode driving at speed limit. Lot of it is 80 kph which helps but n52 is a very twisty rolly rolly road which doesn't! Long term average was 19.1 all in sports mode. I'm at 18.9 long term after that drive. It was around 17 last summer. I did do closer to 400 mark one day last summer but can't remember exact figures and wouldn't have chanced running it aso tight then. Car has a good buffer at 0% Bojrn managed 26k at 0%!

Yes as long as its not a base model trim it'll have Android Automotive. And yes that does charge planning - just make sure you use the inbuilt satnav. On my car the Automotive interface looks almost identical to the Android Auto interface so its easy to forget!

The difference between Ireland / UK Maeganes and the continental ones was the screen size, which was introduced in 2024 with the + trim (ie Techno+ etc) and that brought a heat pump as standard too.

thanks for all the responses! Really interesting re: range etc, looking forward to the test drive this weekend

also interesting about the heat pump, I had thought that 2024 models and up all had them from techno upwards, haven’t seen a techno+ model advertised anywhere yet so will be asking that question

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 219 ✭✭dsandson

Perhaps the + models are a UK thing, I'm Belfast based.

sent an enquiry anyway so I’ll let you know for the other people on this thread too! :)

test drove it today, brilliant car so smooth, totally different then my focus, bouncier! But it is a lovely drive. The rear window is tiny but is something you’d get used too I’d think. Rear camera is… interesting. It’s the techno so not on thr windscreen mirror itself , but was fairly dirty in the test drive.

Interested in the software, some meganes seem to have the software like the Renault 5 type UI, others have the dual digital clocks etc? Presume most Irish ones will have the dual digital clocks?

deposit going down on a 2024 red with silver roof tomorrow anyway! ~40k on the clock, heat pump, in good nick, may ask to check out the tires but seems like a good enough deal! Any other tips before buying?

Renaults do suffer badly with the rear camera lense getting cloudy or hazy, replaced plenty of them under warranty. Sometimes you might away with using some polishing compound on the lense

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,411 ✭✭✭Stallingrad

The changes in the UI graphics came about when the larger screen was introduced. Congratulations, they are fantastic cars.

unfortunately didn’t actually take the one they offered! Initially went to view a model with 22k on the clock, just missed it! They said they had one with 44k, but when I went in it was nearer to 70k on the clock. Higher then what’s on my car at the moment, and no price difference then the one with 22k, so just couldn’t make myself do it! Had a good few more dents etc also.

I did test drive two over the weekend though, including that one with nearly 70k, stunning cars to drive. I drove an id3 also and just no comparison, the interior styling is hundreds of times better.

Enquired about another two models and expecting calls today though so hopefully! Thanks again everybody for your help, really appreciate it and I’ll keep you updated :)
