Thinking of switching to Pinergy in the next few weeks.

I see the consensus is to state one person in the household to reduce initial monthly payments. I presume this can't be done if 3-4 names are going on the account, or are people adding the names after a few months?

Yes you can't add them initially but as soon as you get past the three month level pay where payments reduce you can then email/phone them and they will add the names without any questions.

I would have thought that the level pay was the same for everyone for the first 3 months

No, it is slightly lower for smaller households. Not that it matters much as you will get any access back quickly if you overpay in the first few months

Moved from Bord Gas to Pinergy Sunday night. Got phone call Monday to go through T&Cs (got confirmation it was in fact a 12 month contract) and today got call that all is setup & good to go. Pretty seemless so far.
One thing I forgot to ask is do I need to do anything to avail of microgen/export or does that just follow your ESB account? I had export/microgen set up with Bord Gas for example.

It just follows your ESB account. That is where the utility providers like Pinergy get their data from. Provided of course your NC6 is registered with the ESB, which is the case if you got FIT payments from Bord Gas when you were with them.

At renewal I was offered 12mths, but asked and got 24mths. First one was 24mths

Don't know if they have changed policy but I was able to all the credit refunded from my account this week, was asked if I wanted to leave a buffer or take it all..just said all please

You were always able to take everything out, but were warned it might screw up your monthly payment until you're back in credit again.

Maybe in very recent times. I have been with them for 2.5 years now and you always needed to leave a €200 credit balance in the account. I will try to get everything out the next time and report back 😁

Yep same as that asked every time before and was told needed to leave a buffer of 200 on the account..either way it's one less annoyance now

Is it possible to see how much was exported in the pinergy app? I know I defo sent a small bit back last week or so but dont see it reflected on app. Maybe it will only show in bill?

They send an email every month before the bill appears telling you how much they have paid you for export. You will see the units on the bill. It's not visible in the app.

If you have an esb networks account you can see the daily export figures there.

    No.
You need to register with ESB Networks as that’s who Pinergy get their information from.
Or the app you got from your installer should tell you.

I’ve signed up with Pinergy ev rate on the 10th of Jan. so far Ive had 298.68 taken out in Feb and March .
Yet there is no statement or information confirming this on my app. When I look into statements on the app there is nothing .
is this the case for the first 2 months of level pay ?

Have you spoken to them? I had the same, and they claimed that ESBN refused the transfer, but their system still billed me, and they never notified me. It took a few weeks to sort out. Is your old provider account still active? Mine was.

    thanks ,

Just off the phone with them now . I’ll update when I get something back. As for now they are unsure why .
I hope I haven’t lost all the gains since Jan.

I checked previous provider electric Ireland and the account statement from Jan was a closing account statement . Hopefully it is a small error .

My contract with energia is up on the 12th (Thursday). I'm going to switch to pinergy. Am I better off waiting until the 12th to submit my details online to make the switch or should I do it sooner as it will take time to be processed? I don't want to get caught for the €50 exit fee at this stage. I'll then be going from a 4 hour ev window to a 3 hour ev window. Is there any way of knowing exactly when that change over will happen once I have signed up?

Realistically the changeover is after the 14 day cooloff period

still no update . They escalated it but nothing done yet . A week tomorrow, very frustrating .
