Anyone else having difficulty with Dublin marriage records for 1950? Every record I’ve clicked in the index so far comes up with Not Found.

Just searched Dublin marriages 1950 now and the first three results worked fine - maybe it was just a bit of maintenance.

Not working correctly for me, put in Dublin, Dublin North or Dublin South and it insists on giving all of County Dublin districts.

Choosing Dublin from the list at the side doesn't help. I've hear of this happening with other places as well.

This sort of behaviour seems intermittent, I seem to remember it working better re counties and districts named the same as counties. A search just now for later births 1880-1911 selecting 'Dublin' as district gives results for all districts in, or partially in, County Dublin, I seem to be getting the same or similar results if I pick 'Dublin North'.

If I select county Dublin district e.g. Balrothery in the initial search it seems to behave better only showing results for that district

It's been doing that for a while now - it's really poor form to miss something so basic.

I have a similar problem when searching Carrick on Shannon I also get results for Carrick on Suir!

Today Limerick was giving all the Limerick districts rather than just that one. But mostly I thought they had fixed it so you had to select Co. Limerick to get them all.

Maybe a typo. I have my grandmother's birth cert. I looked it up - no record online. Tried several times to no avail. I entered first name only and date of birth, location & got the record. The surname had been transcribed incorrectly. I corrected the record, checked there just now, record hasn't been corrected yet and that was some time ago.

I probably explained the position wrongly. The birth record is there alright but it's the link to document that's "not found".

On misspellings, my grandmother's name was Keane but like in many parts of the country they pronounced it like sugar cane. The registrars clearly took the phonetic route and I found it written as Kane, Cain or Caine more often that Keane. Similarly, she married an O'Meara and that often appeared as O'Mara or sometimes just Mara. Great fun tracking them down.

I did this for my grandmother and it wasn’t corrected and a nearly a year ago.

For quite some time, and as late as yesterday, I've been unable to look at the images for burials in the Church Records section of irishcenealogy.ie Also records for St. Georges seemed to have just disappeared.

Pleasantly surprised today to find both records and images! for St. Georges back on the site…

Morning, I was reading WDYTYA magazine April edition last evening. According to an article on page 11 re the missing GRO death records, a spokesperson for Dept of Social Protection told the magazine that there is computer system upgrade at the GRO at present. And it is "hoped" to complete the digitisation of the deaths registered from 1864 to 1870 and make the records available "later in 2026". I know it is only a "hope" but maybe good news.

The site is a little temperamental this morning, I've seen a critical Wordpress error, but yesterday evening the district/county filter was working better, even the Dublin North/South Co. Dublin and later 'Dublin' district records.. maybe it's being worked on at the moment ?

It's not working at all for me this morning. Just getting the critical wordpress error. I sent them an email about 930 but no response.

It seems to be back up, and the county/reg. district filter seems to be working much better - e.g. selecting County Dublin rather than Dublin North district shows results for all the districts at least partially in Co. Dublin. Selecting 'Dublin south' shows the correct Dublin south results only etc
