The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

A disturbing number of Americans and like-minded individuals elsewhere seem to think that offering money for Greenland is the reasonable option compared to invasion, ignoring the fact that’s it an outrageous relic of the colonial age. Ask them what part of America they’d be willing to sell to pay their massive debts and see the conversation change.

Nice idea till you realise that next to the US fire the rest of the world is just a flickering match. There's a reason why everyone is so afraid of upsetting this moron, and that reason is power. Which is why I said I really hope behind the scenes European countries are actually taking meaningful action to at least establish independence a few years from now

    He didn't.

You've yet to present any kind of cogent argument.

Saudi are already taking payment in Yuan from China and Gold from India. Theres no doubt they'd take the euro. China have stopped listing all prices in dollars and now prefer Euros except from the US.

The world is moving away from the dollar and the faster the better. The US will see inflation of 30% when that day comes. In the short term, no country should buy US debt. Once their bonds mature, invest in euros or gold or infrastructure but do not roll over US debt.

We've been paying for their military toys and lifestyle indirectly since WW2. Its time to stop the supplement.

Most of the american economic gains is down to 7 companies. At least 3 of which are the American version of Leprechaun economics. Tesla, the most leveraged company in the world, never turned a profit. Circular deals between AI companies that on paper amount to trillions and inflate the share price, in real terms, just a mixture of a ponzi scheme and pass the parcel.

A huge part of the american economy is based on smoke and mirrors. Hugely indepted companies that will not only crash the stockmarket when they fall, they'll take some American banks with them.

Europe needs to make some changes so European companies stay here rather than moving there but that's happening. I'd take being European over being American any day of the week.

Minneapolis Mayor today was a brave man telling it like it is and ICE to fxxx off out of their city .

I think the US is a rougue state by now under Trump. The disturbing thing is that in this shooting and killing in Minneapolis ICE agents are getting clean away with murder under the so called guise of fighting terrorism. More and more it seems like Trump is chasing his own tail here. It's him who is terrorizing the US, not the other way around.

The whole country seems to be run by terrorists now killing at will and getting away with it. And if that isn't enough they are making another claim at Greenland.

Denmark a loyal NATO country, Denmark a country which came to assistance as the twin towers were attacked is now to hand over Greenland to the US?

Europe isn't doing enough for economics and military and defence.

For instance there is only one big European IT business which is SAP, the US has many more of companies of this size.

Also for military and defence too little is done in Europe in general, even though there are a very good number of military and defence companies around, in France, the UK, Germany, etc… Same as the Irish insistance on the so called neutrality is a problem, an air force without any fighter jets, a navy without any surface to air capabilities.

The whole of Europe is still looking backwards too much living in history. Ireland is a similar scenario when the Irish are blaming the English constantly for their misery and support Palestinians.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

I posted this in the DT thread- not sure how much more evidence we need that America is a rogue nation- if it walks like a duck…etc

“The president earlier boasted of his massive foreign policy powers when asked what the limits were on what the US military could do in the region.

'My own morality. My own mind. It’s the only thing that can stop me,' he told The New York Times. ””

I’ve hopefully suspected this since Trumps visit to NATO last year. Rutte’s behaviour was bizarre.

Most of that US rise is due to an inflated tech sector and huge amounts of stock manipulation.

And the super wealthy go to the US for the individual tax breaks, which are massive. Elon Musk is on his way to becoming the world first trillionaire, there's no-one in Europe with that level of wealth. Take his wealth away alone and the US GDP would take a hit.

Apparently if you take away the top 10% wealthiest people in the EU and the US, it's pretty much even in terms of spending power. And I'd say that's probably the truth of it.

Using the dollar less for international transactions is the smart option.

Do you see the AI bubble bursting and what do you mean about stock manipulation? Do you mean rumours and insider trading to impact share prices or something more sinister?

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Yeah, the AI bubble will burst eventually.

China looks like it will eventually crack it, and that will burst it, Deepseek for example has nowhere near the creative side (photo/video creation, image quality) of the American AI's, but apparently outperforms many of them in terms of data manipulation and collation. In other words, miles off the Americans AI's at the flash and presentation, but as good or often better at the nuts and bolts. But as much as the presentation is impressive (in so far as distorting reality), it's the nuts and bolts where it really matters, and the Chinese are at least as good in that regard.

It was also made very cheaply compared to the American AI's, it cost about a billion for the hardware and about 10-20m to train DeepSeek. By comparison, by all accounts it cost the Silicon Valley companies well over a trillion to get their AI's in play. That's a huge difference monetarily.

Another thing that might burst it a bit is that other areas are investing in AI development. The EU, for example, is investing currently in a bespoke AI platform for business's to register patents/trademarks/copyright across Europe. The AI planned for it is nowhere near what Chat GPT or the likes are capable of, but more than capable of making it far easier for businesses and government departments to co-operate and work. Smaller bespoke AI's don't need trillions to work, can be tailored for an individual company or department independent of Silicon Valley.

And that's where the AI bubble will burst in the end. It'll be done somewhere (likely China) for far cheaper, not as good but just about as good, but cheaper, and people will choose the cheaper option, or done on a small scale where it'll be tailored for specific use.

The AI Bubble can be directly compared to the Dot Com bubble: a handful of companies will survive and make billions (the Amazons, Googles, eBays etc.), the majority will fail and, as such, are wildly over-valued.

The morality of someone who boasts about sexually assaulting women, has been found liable for sexual assault (or rape depending on the technical definition), slept with (possibly sexually assaulted if stories are true) an ex-porn worker while his wife was in hospital giving birth to one of their children, paid (or bribed) same ex-porn star to stay quiet, has passed sexual comments about his own daughter, was a long time close associate of one of the worst, known child traffickers and abusers, has defrauded banks, dodged taxes, filed false tax returns, repeatedly short changed suppliers and contractors, ... the list goes on....

    That sort of morality ???

Also, of the big AI companies, only one will emerge victorious. As you say there will be niche requirements but only one big player will survive. My money is on Google. OpenAI have no revenues, massive debt and spending like its going out of fashion. If they fall, they'll take Nvidia, Oracle and at least one bank with them. Google also make their own chips in the main. Thats another exposure for Nvidia. They could crash as quickly as they rose.

Of course it's a rogue state. It's always been, no matter who's in charge, the people have a weird fixation on their military "thank you for your service" type nonsense, not thinking about the fact that the "service" is invading other countries, they literally are a terrorist state.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,658 ✭✭✭MayoSalmon

All Invasions have been fully supported by the UN and our friendly neighbors. UK gone rogue too I suppose.

I'm only referring to the US. It's always been a rogue terrorist state. And besides, the UN didn't support the Iraqi terrorist attack by the US

    “That sort of morality ???”

Yep- we can go on- but look we knew this from day 1- and even throughout the election - but America had to do what America did- I don’t blame America per se- they were hoodwinked by the Biden administration - he should have stepped down and a proper nomination process happened - and we wouldn’t have a Trump now- but we are where we are - watching CH4 news this evening - a lot of angry Americans out there - march on the capitol then, just as your esteemed leader urged you should do - remember- your mortality is your presidents morality - no matter how bad a person you are, you can’t be worse than the sex offender scammer morally corrupt president 😀😀😀😂😛

The UK, like us are too worried about their economy to go against the States. Its not even a relationship, closer to a hooker and their pimp.

They won't be allowed operate in the US, just like Tiktok and Huawei. They'll certainly cut the American market share though.

I think Meloni was the only European leader at Trump's inauguration. Maybe she has seen sense since.

I am going to have to stop watching and reading because I am getting horrified and upset over what that buffoon says every day now and it will take years off all of us !

That was the worst yet .

Is there nobody who can pull him up and say to his face " No Mr President that just isn't right " ?

If that isn't the sign of a rogue ,( dictator ) running the nation

.and not a lovable one .
