You wount know I believe after the station interview your file goes back to GNVB for final checks and a final Decision will then be made under the authority of the Commissioner .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32 Hopeful32

    Thats exactly what happens.

Your file cannot be complete without the results of that interview.

So is my field complete now bar the final GNVB check and sign off by the commissioner?

It's wild that you can spend 2 years going through all the stages and still get rejected.

i see a lot of the full timers don't get in first time .

and of course they will be looking for more diversity and looking for more different nationalities to join .

I stand corrected! apologies to Hopeful32 and RonnieDrew911.

I was clearly wrong in what I said, and thank you to the both above for tagging the link for the MOJ's comments

    Two questions:

    1. Do you get a call from Phoenix Park re station interview or is it from the local station? I.e the area/location that you have choosen? Is it a mobile or land line and if you miss the call will they leave a message? (with all the scam calls around I personally don't answer a call from an unknown number).
    2. Does everyone have to undergo a 'station interview' or it it only required if there are specific queries and or inconsistencies that need to be addressed?

    Thanks in advance folks

The main purpose of the interview is "suitability" so it is not just on your background it is to see if you as a person are suitable for AGS, but background is also a major factor.

Normally the person who will do the interview will make contact so , if you live in tip you most lightly will get a call from Tip, or Dublin will most lightly get a call from Dublin.

The scam numbers generally will be international numbers which AGS would never use.

If you missed a call I'm certain a voice message would be left for you.

Everyone without exception must do the interview.

Everyone stay the course its a long process but the call will come just be patient.

yes exactly. i missed a call and had a voice note from the inspector called him back and did arrange a interview. it was a local phone number and local station to my area .

he did say that if successful that it would not just be that station but a wider area if and when required.

ovs might be different in a big city etc

it used to be a call from 666 number, but a few months ago I got a call from a mobile number, which I didn't answer and, they left a voicemail. I called the HR team and they were able to verify that it was 'their team' calling from a mobile number!!

As for station interviews! Yes, you need to go through it, expect to be called for one

Most Garda members & many Garda Staff are issued with state mobiles, especially if their section entails moving around their Division, so a call from a mobile number would not be unusual.

Happy new year. I think it will all work out over the next few months. It will be worth the wait. 🙏

    Many happy returns pal.

Think Jan will go one of two ways for people still in this competition. Hopefully, recruitment by AGS will be ramped up significantly for 2026 and we will all start receiving offers all going well. 🤞

Great to hear this! Moving operations to Dublin would simply kill the economy in Templemore! I hope the town can breath a sigh of relief over this news.

I emailed Hr this week for an update on vetting, the usual response was received - 'vetting ongoing'

Has anyone gotten any other updates on their vetting?
