Booked this in for NCT this morning.

Got the option of several slots on Saturday morning to evening.

A quick wash and hopefully sails through as I doubt I've 1000 miles done in it since last one.

Suppose it's better to actually put up the work, but along with pads I relocated my battery to the boot and put a huge one in instead of the piddly Micra one that was in it. With all the mods, the smaller batteries don't have enough power to start it especially with the VW 180A alternator on it too

Needed to brighten it up. Today I added some light to my Model Y frunk. Turned out alright I think. .

That's nice - and useful - what did you do exactly?

Added a frunk light strip. The Vjoy one from Ali.

They are going to have to emissions test the hybrids surely. But of a joke as is.

You're right about the joke part.

A test where you can put an additive in and give the car a good hard run to beat the test.

    No bearing on roadworthiness.

    Like the driving test.

Just be on your best behaviour for an hour or so during test and free to drive like a moron for the rest of your life.

Finally got around to changing the front discs and pads and a left front Calliper on the Mondy after the whole wheel nut debacle.

Nice TRW discs and ceramic pads, think they're called Dtec, and an Apec Calliper.

Excuse the filth of the wheel

The old one had a completely torn and missing boot cover. A disaster waiting to happen. First noticed the car veering to the right when braking and the caliper was difficult enough to get off so probably seized.

Everything went well and bled the new calliper and the other side just because, nice and firm pedal and she's ready for the NCT now.

Those ford wheel nuts are a disaster.

A 19.5 socket exists that fits them when they swell.

I know, that's what I use. Still tough to get off. I think they're even gone beyond that point, have new ones there I'll throw them on soon enough

Going back a few years now, but I used to the commercial testing.
If something failed the smoke test it often had an underlying issue. Modern diesels would barely even register on the opacity test.

The worst offenders were old turbo diesels that pootered around all year and the carbon would fall off with the first hard rev it had in 12 months
