    Not Your Ornery Onager

That happened to me once. Ground was wet. Just as I was coming to a halt, both cars either side of me started reversing. There was a wall in front of me, and I almost pulled the steering wheel off and put the brake pedal through the floor as a result!

That reminds of making toast in the dark at the fire..used to burn the hands off ourselves but it was the nicest tasting toast ever..lashings of real butter of course.

Those poxy Lidl orange stickers with ~30% off the marked price in their clearance section. If you buy something as a gift, good luck trying to peel them off, they come off in bits and make a right mess.

Sticking with retail, and Tesco this time. When using the DRS receipts at the self service tills, after scanning, it says to put them in the coupon slot below. But it never ever registers and asks to "call for assistance". Why do you even have to do any of this? It's an unnecessary nonsense, on an already annoying scam.

Double parked at the school pickup. Car on the inside of me started moving forward. I thought it was me that was slipping back so I slammed on the brakes until I realised.

Irish youngsters, who have never been outside their county, speaking with an American accent.

I think Australia have the right idea with social media and children.

What in the name of the holy Jedi Master have they done to Jacobs Kimberly? Got a Christmas box today and was very disappointed. A pale imitation of what they once were.

Royalty free supermarket music. It's so shít.

Bought a small packet of Kimberly recently, first time in years. They were totally tasteless. The nice ginger flavour I was used to, was absent.

    Horrible.

Does anyone else use the phrase "wallpaper music" anymore?

I like muzak… well some of it! I should probably be TA'd about that… but am more usually TA'd by hearing a song I like and not knowing what it is \ who is singing it.

A lingering cold/illness that I've now had for 10 days. Stomach ache, sore throat, slight cough. Just get it over with ffs.

The storm did a number on a chimney cowl, wouldn't be a tragedy except the lid part seems to be stuck between two chimney pots and I can hear the rattling down below. I'll have to employ someone to remove it or maybe a storm in a different direction 😀

Shazam is your friend there. Very handy app.

Today's TA: A "not mandatory but really it kind of is" global work meeting taking place from 1-2pm 🙄

I am a Shazam user, however it struggles with muzak given the obscurity of some of the recordings and noisy environment :)

My black Diesel puffer jacket that seems to have disappeared into the total ether.

My old man literally hounds / harasses people looking for clothes, especially coats / jackets at the start of winter to give to a homeless charity he’s connected to. Unless he was annoying me and I just gave it, don’t imagine / recall me doing that, its beyond nice, so warm, and hardly worn. Loved it..

Won’t have left it anywhere, as I only ever wore it in the depths of winter, 🤔 being annoying me since and I’ve been looking everywhere it could be…I’m not short of coats / jackets but it’s a mystery, fûck I liked that jacket 🫤

You must have kissed me, I've had that dose for a few weeks and only getting over it now . Be careful about what you eat . My ' healthy 'diet of fruit and juice just tore the lining of my stomach leading to vomiting from both side . A diet of roast beef and peptobismol have made it better . Sorry if its TMI

People who expect you to stand aside on an escalator when there is a stairs right beside it.

So did I and completely agree. They taste of nothing now.

People who park in disabled bays….trivial but very annoying imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 17,771 ✭✭✭✭cj maxx

Not as annoying as old people who wag their finger at you because they think they have dibs on disabled spaces . Disabled doesn't necessarily mean OAP parking . I 've had OAPs walk to my car sans stick to give out to me . Look at my badge in the window ya gimp

First speeding ticket in over 25 years of driving - was driving on local road. Straight stretch. Known for parking Garda speed van just after speed limit changes from 60kph to 50 kph zone.
Got done for 63kph in a 50kph. Torn between paying it taking my medicine, or brazening it out waiting for summons. And then hope no guard shows, and I avoid more points and a bigger fine.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

People who take up all the space on an escalator by standing in the middle, or blocking it with their bags.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 15,395 ✭✭✭✭Dial Hard

You will literally be pushed out of the way (and cursed at, more often than not) in London tube stations if you don't stand to one side, and the correct side at that. There is very strict etiquette around it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,947 ✭✭✭✭kneemos

Kinda baffled as to why people stand on escalators. I mean it's a stairs. Not like it's going to the top of the Eiger.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,243 ✭✭✭The Continental Op

Some escalators have warnings stating that you shouldn't walk up them. Dungarvan shopping center has a flat moving escalator (the sort you can take trolleys up) its says not to walk on it. Needless to say I get pissed if people with trolleys don't keep to one side to let me walk past.

Wake me up when it's all over.

looked at my phone there. Message on the screen says I have a voicemail. Weird, check my call log, no missed calls and I’ve had the phone with me on my person all day and it didn’t ring…. Dialled 171…. No voicemails…… very peculiar 👀

You are probably best advised to pay up promptly and accept the three points. The sooner you get them the sooner the three years are up. You will be hyper aware of your speed for a while.

No use arguing in court and doubling the number of points
