Gonna be a lot of SNW redressed sets in this show.

It's happened all the way through the current run and 23rd century Discovery and SNW had inexplicably similar corridors to 25th century Picard ships and 32nd century ships. They seem to have dropped the reactive material 32nd century controls and having 3D consoles all over the place seems to be gone too.

In keeping with later seasons of Disco the ship is utterly fuking ugly.

Hate to nitpick (well, maybe I enjoy it a little), but the Jem'Hadar / Klingon officer with a very contemporary London accent seems a bit silly.

And Holly Hunter wearing glasses. Which she then just hands to the Jem'Hadar and walks away. ??

And everyone on the bridge spinning around on their seat to shout their findings directly at the captain.

    Ugly, lazy, work. :-/

Yeah, the glasses made me go WTF, not getting my hopes up

Whatever about her needing glasses, the fact she hands them to someone else is stupid.

    Ms

That looks crap. Like JJ Trek. At least its not just all about one person though. I thought this was supposed to be in the Acedemy so why are they all on a ship? I guess we will just have to wait and see.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Well that might be the very best example ever put together of people making Star Trek who don't understand Star Trek. Genuinely terrible.

The way the ship appeared, with tachyons hinting at time travel, it made me think they were doing a verion of Abrams' Trek with Paul Giamatti in the role of Eric Bana's character but redesigned by the guys who did the Discovery Klingons.

When I said it doesnt look too bad, I mean't, there's a ship, and the ship doesn't have those stupid floating/un-attached nacelles, and there's some action.

I've been preparing myself for a mixture of Dawson's Creek, ST:90210 and Clueless in Space.

So I suppose the best part of that trailer is it didn't include any actual annoying cadets.

    Funny you should say that

This is the official poster which I've already seen with its name updated

That captains uniform just looks too much like a standard TOS uniform.

I consider that a good thing.

    The ship is the academy.

Saw that poster a few days ago and thought it was so bad I didn't bother sharing it because I felt I would be making things too negative.

Ah. We'll all find out in January.

That can't be the real poster. Do Paramount need a tax write off?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,805 ✭✭✭✭LambshankRedemption

If you mean the top one, that is indeed a real poster.

In a way fair play to them. They have been making this very clear from the start this is for teens and will be a teen drama heavy show.

No point having posters that fool people into thinking it's something it's not.
