Could someone please let me know the answer to this from experience as getting mixed answers. Am with Energia and in contract aswell as mid billing cycle. If I move to another provider will I still get the discounted for the partial bill I get? I know I'll get the €50 charge, but keep on getting the run around when asking if I'll get mu usual unit rate since breaking contract.

Yes. No issues with my final bill issued (I was only 5 months into Energia contract).

Any one signed up with Yuno using other than Mastercard?
I've encountered a strange problem: app confirmation goes through, then comes up as failed on their side. This is after 4 different cards.

What bank? Many of the energy, utility companies have legacy systems that only accept traditional Irish bank accounts, IBAN

No, no account or IBAN at play in this case, no direct debit at all! You have to pay by a card first to sign up with Yuno, and after that they will get everything paid by your card. EBS, BOI to name few and 1 more fintech card(all Mastercard), all have failed, after been approved by app SCA.

It's a huge PITA, DD is much easier to set up.

Don't know if this is the place but can anyone tell me where is best place to get solar panels for the best price?

If this is not the place to ask is there a forum to ask this?

Look for the renewable energy forum

Strange, I signed up with N26 MasterCard on Friday with no payment issues

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,225 ✭✭✭padyjoe

How did you do it? I'm going through Switcher.ie. This might be the problem.
I've tried 4 different MasterCards, nothing works.

    Thanks!

    Went through switcher.ie as well.

Got a missed phone call, called them back, gave them the card number, got a push notification, approved it and that was that

It's been solved somehow, there is a glitch on their side.

Airtricity sales rep called to the door. Offer was:
24hr rate, fixed price for 12 months, DD, eBill
elec = 22.6c (24.63c incl VAT) per kWh, standing charge €230+VAT
gas = 6.79c (7.4 inc VAT) per kWh, standing charge €135+VAT
    FIT rate 19.5c

It's better than my Black Friday 2024 Energia rates… (even before the recent ~11% elec price hike).
    What do people think?

    I'm on a non-activated smart meter.

floras similar for gas and 22.56c for electric inc vat

Has anyone on the Flogas BWG plan managed to switch to the Flogas new customer fixed dual fuel plan?

Paying 23.22 for electricity & 7.61 for gas (ex VAT) vs 22.10 & 6.80 on offer for 12 months fixed.

I know I'm fixed and in a contract until September next year so no benefit to them to allow it.

Based on my usage would save the guts of €80.

flogas website upgrade seems to be taking longer than expected, I can’t log into my account to top it up

I feel a bit miffed compared to other Energia customers on here 🙂.

I left mid contract a few days due to their price increase and went to the fixed (not BWG) Flogas tariff.

I had half-expected a call or email from the Energia retention team like others on here had reported getting but not a sausage. I'm a heavy user of electricity with a heatpump and two EVs but also have a large solar array and export about 5 MWh every year.

I have definitely been ported to Flogas as my MPRN has been moved on ESBN.

All I got was a 'why did you leave?' survey email, which I obviously didn't fill out

Does Flogas offer the best rate for electricity use only? We wouldn't be heavy users. Bill currently averages between 80-90 every 2 months.

use energypal.ie and other price comparison websites to see what the best option for you, some companies are offering cash back offers for new customers

I don't know what to think.
I asked Yuno about MCC codes. I wanted to stay on MCC01, and did both the chat and the phone agent to not to alter the number.
ESB mail came to my door and the meter number has been changed to MCC12. Just speechless. Given the problems I had to go through and asking them for clear information, I deserve this. Not happy.

Yuno are very clear that they will activate your smart meter

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,864 ✭✭✭ongarite

Yuno are very clear that they are smart meter only provider and will change your meter if needed. It’s been mentioned here so many times the same thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,210 ✭✭✭Escapees

It doesn't sound like you specifically stated that you did not want a new smart meter installed, which goes against the contract agreed to with Yuno in any case.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,277 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

you can say what you want to yuno it won’t change their process

Ask for a recording of the call but I think you’re goosed

    Good luck winning that one.

The poster agreed to Yunos T&Cs when they signed up. That includes smart meter activation. Yunos entire model is based on an activated smart meter, I assume they're doing something with the data.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,277 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

they must be selling the data to keep the cost down

We're saying the same thing. Was replying to OP but the quote didn't appear.

Apologies, we are saying the same thing!
