“Anyone coming forward with their tales of sexual encounters with Andrew would still possibly face a large legal backlash.”

I’m not sure that legal beast is as big as it once was- and I’m not sure there’s the appetite or indeed the motivation to do those battles, no less the money involved to fund them -Andy is now a private citizen - let the legal games begin.

Anyone hard done by sexually by Andy - not a better time to get your rightfully owed compensation

In fairness Andrew has never been charged with any crimes related to his sexual proclivities. So he hasn't been hung or convicted in a legal sense. He's being hung drawn and quartered though in the court of public opinion and rightfully so.

He is clearly a deviant man who was preying on young vulnerable women for sex. Lest we forget he settled out of court in a civil case for sexual assault brought by Virginia Giuffre. An innocent man of his financial means would hardly have done so if he was completely innocent. He had plenty of money and access to the best lawyers to contest that case and he chose to pay up and make it go away.

The Thai girls were most likely modern day sex slaves with zero independence or agency. They were mostly likely used to being abused. I can't see how they would have the means to share their stories when their experience with Andrew was most likely a daily occurrence for them.

Note that most of Epstein's girls were preyed upon by Gislane Maxwell because of poor socioeconomic status or coming from broken or abused homes. They knew exactly what they were at and that the women they were abusing were not likely to call them out.

This sounds awfully like downplaying an old man raping trafficked minors.

They were kids who were targeted, groomed, trafficked, coerced, abused, threatened, raped and exploited. Real people who were seriously harmed for life, assuming they don't cut their lives short because the suffering their trauma caused doesn't make it worth living.

Don't downplay that by complaining about the language used, when you know very well what people mean. FFS.

You need evidence is the problem or it's her word against his. At this stage unless there's video or photographs it's just not going to happen.

I’d actually disagree- his name is mud- not convicted of anything I hasten to say, which I know would be significant in a civil court of law- but in a civil case, the cumulative effect of the accusations and the pre-court settlement of Virginias case would still have an impact- he’d also be funding any fight himself - this is slam dunk stuff here- a class action - that is, if there are “100s” of “victims” out there - or even dozens or even a handful- would be in prime position to extract a very large monetary compensation -

I’m surprised a solicitor hasn’t come forward yet encouraging past victims of Mr. Sandringham to come forward - why might that be?

Judging by the way they celebrate the Bloody Sunday, Ballymurphy massacre murderers, etc, probably not

“Fell out with a historian I used to admire on Twitter over it. She said an elected President would have no issue decorating murderers or hosting despots. She struggled to answer when I asked her how many murderers had been decorated by President Higgins. She blanked and called it there.”

    Out of interest, who?

    Well:

    https://www.lbc.co.uk/article/andrew-prostitutes-thailand-trip-5HjdGCQ_2/

Royal historian Andrew Lownie has alleged the disgraced former prince went on a string of taxpayer-funded trips which doubled up as holidays amid his “midlife crisis" in the early 2000s.

It came after his brother, then-Prince Charles, reportedly advised against giving Andrew the Trade Envoy role in 2001 as he would just “chase women and play golf”.

“In 2001, Andrew is 41, he's having his midlife crisis and he basically starts chasing lots and lots of women," Mr Lonie told the Daily Mail’s Deep Dive: The Fall of the House of York podcast.

“He uses the excuse of his role as Trade Envoy, paid for by the taxpayer, to go off on these trips."

I don't usually watch the Queens/Kings speech at Christmas but this one may be interesting.

I think the minute he got his mother to pay out millions he admitted his guilt. What a revolting excuse of a man.

Spitting Image have been producing very cutting sketches (Diary of a P E D O) involving Andrew for months. There is no sign of them being sued over them or YouTube taking them down.

That must be Nigel with the brie...

They had a fly-on-the-wall show inside Buckingham Palace way back showing the RF going about their daily business.

Could you imagine if they did it again this last few years, with all the drama that has taken place. It would be better than any soap or reality show.

It would make The Osbournes look tame by comparison.

The " spares" certainly seems to go off the reservation. Harry and Andy.

Why pay such a large settlement then if theres nothing to it?

This looks like a both sides argument.

The former wanted to escape the institution that destroyed his mother and the latter may be a properly evil human being. There's a world of difference.

The “reason” was to make it go away given the Queens 70th.

Personally I’d have preferred to see it play out in the courts but- given it was down to a she said/he said argument and taking into account the picture (photo) and the flights log- and it was an American court - I think the outcome would have been 50:50 at best

    - hence the settlement- the amount involved was simply a reflection on how wealthy they were (The RF) and how much they wanted “done” with the legalities - telling that Virginia had agreed to a 1 year gag order- so that no news broke throughout the queens 70th - after that she was free to do and say what she wanted - that must have cost the RF a pretty penny - so 12 million for a temporary stay on the inevitable

While Andy didn’t have to admit fault per se, he did have to state in a statement something about victims of sexual abuse - on balance of probabilities at least, he was pretty much “responsible” for this - but it’s shaded in nuance - Did he have sex with Virginia Guiffre ?
It’s a civil case so make your own mind up but the evidence is strong that he did.

That would be up to the CPS but a skilled prosecution team could very easily put together a case against Andrew that could push a jury beyond reasonable doubt. Her allegations combined with the photos, the emails, the friends he kept and their testimonies should they decide to do so. It's not impossible.

What are the chances of a “Fergie” tell -all book? Does she have something to lose?
Yep- her daughters support would be my guess- I don’t see it happening

“Because an unleashed Fergie could wreak carnage on the Royals. The terrifying truth is that she could choose to write another memoir, this time revealing everything and she would be paid millions for it.After all she has had a front-row seat at the Royal family circus for decades. A bestie of Princess Diana, a confidante during the torture of Diana’s divorce. Oh the secrets she must hold that could be divulged in another Oprah interview.A multi-million-pound Fergie Netflix show about the horrid Royals could make Harry & Meghan’s devastating six-part series, the highest rated show for the streamer in 2022, look like a walk in the park on a sunny day.I fear the King’s very public humiliation of Fergie could come back to haunt Charles. As much as it may choke him to provide her with the millions she expects and the home she feels is her due, it might be the only way to keep her silence. The only way to save the monarchy from another full-frontal, tell-all assault.“

He said that while there has been speculation that Ms Ferguson, or indeed Andrew, could write a tell-all memoir, "I think the publishers would be wary of taking on the ex Duchess of York's story."

She's a shameless grifter, I don't think many would believe her account tbh.

    Does that matter?
Surely his guilt is determined by whether he did it, not what can be proven in court.

I’m perfectly calm - it is you that’s getting worked up about the Royal Family - if they illicit such a reaction you’re probably better off ignoring the thread completely

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,948 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

    You are deflecting.

You admire the Royal Family for whatever reason so you are upset others don't.

It's why you say things like you are on the fence over the allegations against the nonce.

Maybe you need to take your own advice.

    “You admire the Royal Family”

Clearly I don’t given my posts here and on the H&M threads - you’re posting absolute rubbish to try and get a rise from me.

    Go away.

Still one title left- I wonder what the difficulty is with this particular one - likely to hurt Andy more given it’s a military based title

    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c8675l25591o.amp

“The Ministry of Defence is working to remove Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's last honorary military rank under the guidance of the King, the defence secretary has said.

John Healey said King Charles had "indicated that's what he wishes".

Andrew, who was stripped of his title as a prince on Thursday, retained his rank as a Vice Admiral in the Royal Navy after giving up his other military positions in 2022.

Healey told the BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg: "This is a move that's right, it's a move the King has indicated we should take and we're working on that at the moment."

1.4 mill paid to Fergie by failed crypto company - that’s some serious cash - obviously used her PR to generate high roller investors - in the absence of further sexual abuse claims, it’s the money trails and dodgy payments from unscrupulous “business” people that will likely fill the pages over the coming months
