Apparently he insisted on his staff calling him "your royal Highness ". Loss of titles is going to smart a bit.

Still one title left- I wonder what the difficulty is with this particular one - likely to hurt Andy more given it’s a military based title

Apparently in the Royal Navy officers are never truly retired — they are placed on the "retired list", but they still hold a commision and can in theory be recalled to service.

Because they are still commissioned officers they can still qualify for notional promotions. These don't affect their pension and allowances — they're honorary — but they are still regarded as significant by navy pensioners. There's a system or a set of conventions in place for awarding these honorary promotions to retired officers.

Apparently Andrew's post-retirement promotions to Captain, then Rear-Admiral and then Vice-Admiral were awarded under this system. So my guess is that they are looking for a way to revoke these honorary promotions without disrupting or delegitimizing the system under which they were granted.

1.4 mill paid to Fergie by failed crypto company - that’s some serious cash - obviously used her PR to generate high roller investors

I'm flabberghasted. Who in God's name would invest in crypto on the recommendation or introduction of Sarah Ferguson? It's not as though she was ever noted for her financial acumen — she has a long history of having to be repeatedly baled out of the debts she has run up in a lifestyle she cannot afford.

Its an incredible story. They were all untouchable. Maxwell, Epstein. It really hits home when you see the photo at Naomi Campbell's party and how young Guiffre looked. Surely everyone knew these girls were 'his' and what the story was?

I looked back to see when the thread was started, 10 years ago. I can't believe talk of Andrew has been going on that long and he held on, even after that interview.

Andrew losing his title means Sarah Ferguson also loses hers. However, Beatrice and Eugenie remain princesses because of being daughters of a son of a monarch.

That's the thing. He's had some titles removed and will have to move house.

He's still going to be ridiculously wealthy and living in luxury. He'll still have staff. It's not like he'll be cooking his own meals or doing his own laundry.

He'll never see a day inside prison or be convicted.

And it's only happening because of public opinion. It didn't happen before. the royal family have known about this for ages. They probably know more than us. And they did nothing. This is just a PR exercise to save the rest of them because he's too much of a liability.

    Nothing about this is justice.

What's he going to do all day? Can't really appear in public or be invited to any social events.

That must be Nigel with the brie...

He will probably be sneaking abroad for prostitutes on a regular basis.

Where he’s going to be living in Norfolk isn’t exactly renowned for its nightlife either- warm cups of cocoa and a good book might be the highlight of the day.

It’s likely he’ll just use that as a base when in England but spend most of his time in the likes of the UAE with his Arab school chum- especially the winters which apparently are extra depressing in Norfolk
