Wings, there are different wings for different things. Sames as L plates you have different ones for flight school. You have different wings for jump school with parachutes.

Dont be so harsh on the military, the great thing is there is a place to hide everyone. Remember you have avionics, nuclear technicans and engineers, meterologists, electricans, and loads of interesting stuff. Many young men join up on the exuberance of youth and patriotism.
