Loads more today. Guess it depends on when you look. I can't believe it's now £68 for Stretford end tier 2.

Especially when you consider if he went there and flopped massively the club gets their€50M still because Napoli are always going to qualify for the CL. Hopefully the money can be put to good use to bring in a decent back up no.9 before the start of next season.

Thanks for that. Picked up the one for £1000 in the dugout.

I narrowed the search down to the cheapest option for Brighton i.e. £63 Sterling per seat per Adult.

    Over 66 £47.25

    18-20 £47.25

    16-17 £31.50

    Under 16 £31.50

Yes there there are loads of other seats available but all are above the "cheapest" seat of £63 Sterling.

Yup. Hope Andy has some new stories as I was there last November too.

Do we know if there's a get out clause?

Chelsea were obligated to buy Sancho if they finished above 14th... until they weren't.

Wouldn't be surprised if there's something similar with Hojlund / Napoli if he was to flop and they qualified for CL.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,049 ✭✭✭✭johnnyryan89

Sancho was also on triple the wages that Hojlund was on and the clause was inserted because the deal was going to fall apart because of Sancho's wage demands. I don't see that issue with Hojlund and negotiating the deal.

There's reports that his salary will be €5M a year with a contract until 2030 and that there's a release clause worth €85M that becomes active in 2027. There's no chance of a Sancho situation IMO.

the athletic surveyed 20 agents today, and 6 (the most) said sesko was worst signing of the summer. this to me is bizarre. 2 goals + setup the red card vs chelsea, leading to the win.

i didnt think the athletic were into this clickbait nonsense journalism. like, there is a clear and obvious #1 worst signing.

    not pay-walled.

The athletic want that sweet sweet pessimistic united news money.

So if Chelsea has a break clause on the Sancho deal that was all allowed and above normal could we say have one the other way hojund does really good so we pay them say 10 mil to bring him back.

Not saying it's in any way plausible but could it be a thing in theory

The club really do need to start bringing the ban hammer down on these media outlets.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Unbelievably, Michael Oliver has been appointed to ref the game this weekend. After the MDL peno last season and the Dalot red the year before he shouldn't be let anywhere near this fixture. I'd love to see the club kick up a fuss amd put presser on him before the game.

You probably could but I don't Napoli would agree to it. Hojlund himself probably wouldn't agree to it either.

The break clause in Sancho's loan was basically a loan fee. Chelsea couldn't agree wages with Sancho which normally have to be agreed before a loan with an obligation happens.

So rather than letting the deal fall apart United likely agreed to take a £5M fee from Chelsea in the future if they couldn't agree on a deal with Sancho by the end of June.

They think they're some kind of enlightened philosophers writing gossip columns about football.

Simon Harris is monitoring the situation...

Thomas Tuchel has warned that Marcus Rashford must deliver on his talent or risk ending his career wondering “what could have been”.

Rashford is currently on loan at Barcelona, hoping to get his career back on track after being frozen out at Manchester United by Ruben Amorim, who took issue with his poor work rate in training.

He was called up to Tuchel’s first England squad in the spring despite not playing for the Three Lions since March 2024 and made a cameo appearance against Wales last week.

The German has now warned, though, that he must deliver on his talent or risk missing his ceiling.

"It's not a question of talent, it's a question of whether he can prove the point at club and international level,” Tuchel explained, speaking from Riga ahead of England’s World Cup qualifier against Latvia.

“Otherwise, he will be disappointed in 10 years at what could have been and what he made of it.

"I think the limit for him is very, very high. Maybe higher than for others.

"He has the potential - but potential is a dangerous word with high-level sports.

"You have to reach your personal best on a regular basis - that is what is demanded on this kind of level, and that is the challenge for him.”

Tuchel continued, adding Rashford has “no limits”, but that his output did not match his talent.

"He can be one of the best in the world because the quality I see in training, the finishing with both legs and with the head.

There was an error displaying this embed.

"He is explosive, he is fast, he is strong in the air, so where are the limits?

"There are no limits - but the numbers don't reach the potential, it is as easy as that."

Speaking to ITV ahead of the Latvia clash, Rashford put his struggles at United down to managerial turnover, saying: “When people talk about consistency, in order to be consistent in anything, not just sport, you need consistent variables in your life and the way you train.

“We have just had so many changes so far in my career but I have to look forward and that it definitely one of the things I want to put right and improve on to be at my best more often.”

A frequent change in managers is par for the course for a footballer, no? Rashford is making excuses again, when he should be looking at no-one but himself. Tuchel is bang on, really.

Besides, who coached Rashford to arse around the pitch, not track back, not being available for a pass or not running the channels. Did his manager say it was ok to miss training and team meetings? He's 27. He's supposed to be at his peak yet he is still being criticised for not doing enough to reach his 'potential' by his current and almost all of his previous managers. I think this is his make or break season, and his stock will be drastically reduced if he doesn't impress. I just doubt he is mentally strong enough for that challenge, unfortunately.

The Athletic has taken nose dive in quality.

I would pay little attention to this tripe now.

Did anyone make it to Vicar Street last night for the Talk of the Devils live show? I’m curious to hear thoughts on it and if they shared any insights, news, or stories that might not have made it onto the regular podcast?

Gonna ask what I would have thought to be the obvious question but why exactly would we care what an agent thinks will be the worst signing?

Agents aren't in their job because of their football knowledge so why would we care what a glorified sales man thinks?

I cancelled mine this week after being a sub for a long time. It's turning into to a rag.

They're good lads and journalists, and I like listening to it. But I've never seen the appeal of going to see these live podcast things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,602 ✭✭✭SteM

Exactly, it's another excuse. How many managers did Harry Kane play under while he was at Spurs? Must have been 6 or 7 but he was professional and got on with it.

Rashford's head was turned by the PL lifestyle imho, that is the real issue.

    Utd fan?

That's a funny choice of username for a Utd fan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 576 ✭✭✭Seattle

I don't actually find them that good at all, they're massively overrated imo.

There really isn't that much quality in the Utd specific media space though.

Anka is ok but gets hyper fixated on weird details sometimes. Whitwell has good sources but sits on the fence so he doesn't piss any of them off. Mitten is the worst - offers very little beyond extremely basic analysis that you'd hear in a pub, and constantly name drops without realising it. Have to fast forward any time he appears. Funnily enough, I actually find the guy who hosts it and asks the questions to be the most interesting!

It's a podcast that generally tries to reflect the mood of the fan base, to piss off the least amount of people and maximise listeners rather than prioritising real insight or interesting views. I suppose a lot of people are into their style.

I agree with you. I was just curious about the format and the discussions, and it seems like they get a get a good turnout at the venues the last two years they have done this mini tour. I enjoy the weekly podcast, but not enough to go see them live. Carl Anka tends to pause a lot when he’s speaking during the discussion in the weekly pod, which annoys me.

I agree re Mitten he's not great but think he does fancy himself as a journalist as he likes to remind us all the time. I do like the Ian guy though I di think he's pretty good on the podcast

Was at TOTD live last night and back in November too. I’d rarely go to live events that aren’t live sport and it’s a novelty these days heading into town on a Monday and having a few drinks and a laugh.

Think someone in here posted before that the podcast is as much about vibes and entertainment as anything else and that’s what the show is like. Andy telling stories Is a chunk of the show and in fairness, I don’t think he repeated any from last November. Laurie & Andy had the crowd singing a version of Zombie for Zirkzee a couple of times.

I enjoy some of the athletic’s podcasts although I don’t listen to them all the time as TOTD can get a bit samey as the results fluctuate. Totally football show and TIFO (again vibes) can be good. The athletic FC on YouTube has some good tactics videos too. Athletic subscription was €12 the first year and €10 this year so it’s reasonably priced on offers. Adam Cleary has a YouTube channel which does some good tactics vids for PL teams.

Based on your last two posts, you should probably move to North Korea. You'd be happier there.

This is an awful Liverpool fan post…

Oliver is what he is. Most of the refs are the same - they are all capable of making poor calls.

But I don't think he's out to get us
