Well when you say Israel are only bombing the people who caused October 7th, you are incorrect - they are bombing far more than that (mostly women and children).

I thought it was one of those comments like "none are innocent in Gaza" that some headbangers use to justify kids being sniped and starved.

But tbh It is very difficult for you to argue that Israel are trying not to bomb and kill civilians, only combatants, when the other side of their tactic is to starve them all, civilians and combatants alike.

Unless you are arguing Hamas are holding their hands on top of everyone's mouths to stop them eating aswell, your original argument doesn't make sense. Why would Israel try not to kill Gazans via bombs, when trying to via starvation?

Smotrich is back to being Smotrich, no news yet from his partner in crime. No talk of collapsing the government yet though.

He is only doing it for the Nobel Prize. It is great news nonetheless if it leads to peace. Hopefully though Israel will be held to account for their war crimes in the future. Such as murder of the five year old girl in the car . How dare anyone criticise your precious Israel for things like that!

People don't hate israel. They hate the current administration because they hate seeing tens of thousands of children getting killed.

It seems this is just a convenient excuse for him and others to absolve Israel of accountability for committing a litany of war crimes in Gaza. They wouldn't of course blame Israel if another state was killing civilians in Tel Aviv and blamed Israel by saying they effectively used civilians as human shields by having military bases in residental areas and close to a major hospital. This is before we get into them deliberately withholding aid for three months and destroying the bulk of the means to produce food. Palestinians also risked death by trying to catch fish in the sea- I know what excuse will be offered for that one

No need to project hatred and bile onto others with a post that tacitly excuses/ denies what virtually all major international humanitarian and legal institutions have declared as a genocide. Why else would you defend such a place, you surely have a fair amount of bile and hatred for the victims? Or maybe it's apathy.

Great news for the Israeli and Palestinian people

Another one suddenly concerned about Palestinians now, whilst simultaneously defending the country who killed so many of them. Fair play to you.

Anyway, enough sneer, I do agree somewhat. If peace is achieved, great. Hopefully justice will also prevail.

Yes - it is being officially signed by both sides this morning, so everything has been agreed (I believe the bombing of Gaza has already ceased).

First seven points are agreed - possibly the 8th. These are the initial stages - lots more work to be done.

Israeli govt to approve (or not) today. Dangerous period for Netanyahu - govt could fall.

Hatred and bile are reserved for the Israeli govt.

Great to see you here contributing.

It's well documented that Hamas are intercepting food supplies just like they always did

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,637 ✭✭✭dmcdona

A timely reminder of a point made numerous times here over two years. Posts here are not criticism of normal Israelis who also despise their warmongering govt. and only want the hostages back and peace and security. That's their right. Their Govt. has abandoned them - their Govt. will pay the price.

Now turn over the Israeli cabinet and all those who enabled and facilitated the genocide to the International Criminal Court

They killed 1200 people after raping and torturing them? No they didn’t.
The people being bombed didn’t kill all the people killed on October 7th and certainly didn’t rape or torture them all. There is no need to exaggerate an already horrific event.

How does one invade a country with no defined borders?

I don't think it's been well documented. The US government, for example, said themselves there isn't widespread evidence of this.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2025/07/25/politics/us-government-review-no-evidence-widespread-theft-gaza-aid

Even if we were to believe they got this wrong, which is possible, the accepted number of food and aid trucks needed to enter Gaza are in the 500 a day region (per the UN, to cover the basic nutrition and wellbeing of 2 million people)

Are you saying Israel has been allowing in or around this number of trucks to enter, and Hamas (despite Gaza being bombed daily / infested with drones, military on the ground) are capable of stealing enough of them for the ICP to declare a famine in Gaza? How many are they stealing - 200/300 trucks a day? More? Less?

Where are Hamas storing all this food? How are they keeping it from starving people? What is happening to all the trucks? Why would drivers risk their life everyday driving 500 trucks into Gaza if that many of them are being hijacked? Why haven't we heard of this black hole of disappearing trucks and drivers before? Why are all aid agencies saying Israel are not letting them in to deliver aid?

    Great if it works out.

The cynic in me suggests otherwise, but we can hope

By Whom? Is it Israeli Radar?

We know Bibi admitted a couple of months ago that his government is funding an isis linked gang, who are stealing aid systematically and bringing it to their warehouses. Sky News recently had another report on this recently. What is it with Bibi thinking he can fund islamists without their being blow back. You would think he has learned his lesson by now,but obviously not.

Upskuttling the World Economy - to be fair, the world economic function cannot continue as is. It's only serving large corporations and the already uber-wealthy. It needs to be reigned in. I hope Trump continues what he's at.

Illegal immigration is a crime. There are proper channels to become a legal immigrant in the USA and most properly run countries in the world, that process needs to be restored. Take the UK as an example, why are illegals paying vast sums to smugglers to make precarious journeys when a €20 Ryanair flight will drop you in multiple UK airports and then claim asylum the proper way.

Siding with Russia - sometimes it's worth listening to both sides of the argument and give them time to play ball. Russia has disrespected this in recent months, I suspect once this Gaza process is underway and if it goes well, Trump's focus will go to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He has already given plenty of indications he's going to intervene against Russia, see his warning to countries dealing with Russian oil.

Arming Israel to the teeth - to be fair, pretty much all of Israels neighbours want them wiped from the map, some moreso than others. That is an alarming threat to their very existence. If Ireland was in a similar situation where England, Scotland and Wales were determined to wipe us all from this fair island, we'd pray and hope for US intervention - or someone like them to 'have our back'.

Trump deserves credit - people might not like the non-PC way he goes about his business, but overall he gets the job done or at least tries in a meaningful way which is much more than our crowd here achieve. Look at the occupied territories bill, no move there. The pitiful 'protests' blocking Dublin Port Tunnel last week, all pathetic and virtue signalling just to be 'seen to be doing something' that actually achieves nothing but hold up traffic for hours on end irritating people who they should be trying to win over.

So, well done Trump - he deserves some credit for applying pressure to get this conflict to the stage where peace looks really promising now.

We should all simply praise a country supported by the US and EU in committing genocide.

You may find that the criticism of Israel decreases in proportion to the number of children it kills. Funny that, it’s almost like there is a connection or something.

You went through a fair sprinkling of gymnastics there, my friend, like assuming that anyone who dares to query figures provided by a unit attached to Hamas,is automatically a supporter of “genocide”?

Forgive me if I disregard your disgusting insinuations.

So you admit food is being stolen systematically. Thanks for confirming what I said.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,969 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

You stated it was being stolen by Hamas, poster corrected you that it's not Hamas stealing food and aid.

Not quite the gotcha you think it is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,637 ✭✭✭dmcdona

It's not well documented because it didn't happen on a widespread basis. The IDF reported this.

How does the poster know that it’s not Hamas “stealing food and aid”?

You're not even worth my time with your nonsense questions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,229 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Excellent, all these arguments seem to break down when someone asks a simple question?

Good summary of the current state of play.

Seems the final straw for the US was the Israeli attack on Qatar.

And there appears to be some noses out of joint in the Israeli Govt. I wonder who…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,560 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

I don't know i am only going on what Bibi has said and the UN

So is it your position that Bibi is lying ,Brendan . We know you are rightly suspicious of the Hamas Ministry, but surely not The Israeli Government.

Although this is twice now you have sought to ignore what Israel has said - first it was with the Flotilla, now you are ignoring Bibi's own admission. Perhaps then you trust the view of the UN, who said there was no evidence Hamas was systematically stealing aid?
