Ballybrown have had enough good performances now that in hindsight they were not shocks. Definitely the 3rd best team and best placed to cause an upset and make the final.

I don't see an upset in the QFs but Kilmallock have looked vulnerable at times so Monaleen have a chance.

Hard not to see a clear path to the final for NaP and Doon though.

No Ballybrown v Adare is in Askeaton at 2 and Kilmallock v Monaleen is in Bruff at 4.30.

In an unusual move for myself I won't see them live as I'll be at a cricket match.

Ye Monaleen a definite chance against Kilmallock who have been very poor in the last couple of games.

Adare did well to get to a quarter final....wouldn't see them going any further.

Probably not a good idea to risk a double header on any pitch except PnG in this weather.

Ballybrown should have too much for Adare you would think, Monaleen/Kilmallock should be closer but Kilmallock should have too much experience for them, would be a great shot in the arm for the senior championship though to see 2 young teams in BB and Monaleen get through to the semis, hopefully they're too competitive games.

i haven't watched much of the limerick championship but monaleens performances have stood out , unlucky today too , who is the favorites , doon and NAP i suppose

It's 50/50 between the 2 for the title and it's looked that way from very early on. A shock isn't impossible but it would be exactly that a shock in the true sense of the word.

thats what i was thinking ,a load of people particular in east clare want us to copy the limerick format because it gives club players more meaningful games , basically in the clare format if you finished 3rd in your group you only played 3 games wheres in limerick its nearly double than that

i wouldnt be a fan of it because i think it takes away the jeopardy of the early rounds , as a neutral i would like to see doon win it again and back up the under age sucess and rid themselves of the nearly men tag that has haunted them for years , last year will only be seen as a flash in the pan otherwise , i worked with a friend of darragh O'Donovan last year apparently the oola man enjoyed the celebrations better then anyone else a gas card by the sound of things 😂

There is too much copying "what sucessful people do" in sport.

The Limerick system works well for Limerick because it suits the numbers and skill levels of the clubs.

Clare might need change (I don't know) but it needs to be a change that suits Clare.

from what i have seen and heard daragh doesn't do copy and paste 😂 he done an excellent interview after the munster final in 23 where he got man of the match it was completely the opposite to what you would expect from a modderan gaa player

i think what suits clare hurling is the underage development squads from under 14/15 upwards , we have had some excellent club hurlers like gudgie o'connell or paudi fitzpatrick or shane goldan that won several county championships with ballyea or sixmilebridge but never really could do it at intercounty level consistently

one of the best players in this years club championship has been brian mcnamara the clare footballer midfielder , he will not be on the hurling panel next year because they are seen as two different competitions up here (club and intercounty) , maybe we do need to merge the two together

Na Piarsiagh have been excellent defensively. Smothering the opposition and very hard to play against. A few former Limerick players have starred, Adrian Breen, David Dempsey and Kevin Downes.

Doon haven't fully clicked into top gear. Lucky tp win a couple of games v Ballybrown and Ahane, but no surprise if they have timed their run and up their game for the semis.

Hard to see Kilmallock winning it out. Went the distance today v Monaleen, Shane O Brien class the difference. Monaleen keep making forward strides. Ballybrown underperformed v Adare but its all about winning and they got over the line. Very good year for them regardless of semi final result.

    I'd fancy Na Piarsiagh.

Whoever wins goes in against Ballygunner in the Munster club. I probably thought the same last year, but having watched the Waterford final, they will not be beaten by anyone in Munster or elsewhere.

I know it's probably a personal question but us Byrne's playing with the well at the moment given what happened his father

Munster is going to be seriously tough I have the cork championship as the best In the Provence after Tipperary

They were finished for the year before that incident happened. Lost all 5 matches and relegated to group 2 for next year.

Ok surprised to hear that , Byrne's is a gentleman above anything else and well known for it off the field you would only wish him the best

That is surprising that they got relegated with the players they have

I was hoping monaleen would win but didn't expect them to but they put up a great battle. Someone told me I'm sure this Yr that castletroy colleges harty team had 13 starters from monaleen and they were competitive so that's very positive from their perspective.

It'll be a doon v nap final if you asked me in early season I'd have went for doon but nap now.
