ok thanks. I'll probably have to hit the post office then. Was hoping I could do it from home.

I sometimes get stuff from the UK with only internal UK postage paid and it arrives eventually but often takes 4 weeks. So probably worth paying the right money.

Wake me up when it's all over.

It actually ended up costing me €4.20. WTF? It's only a tiny package.

Is it An Post policy to leave a parcel at the doorstep if no one at home ?

My wife ordered a Christmas gift for me, it's being sent from Dublin. The tracking only says:

Your item has been handed to An Post

and has been stuck there since Wednesday morning, the 3rd. I presume this means that An Post have it?

I think there's a delay at the moment due to all the Black Friday packages. I sent something recently and it showed with the same tracking status as yours for a week until it finally changed to "being sorted for delivery". I'd say give it time and your tracking status will update.

Ive had a few items on the "item being sorted for delivery" status the last week. One small item posted within Ireland still hasn't arrived after a week. I'd say it's just the large volume of items and everything back to normal in January.

Storm Bram will add another day to some deliveries from the UK. Postman said he had very few parcels today because of trucks that didn't make it over on the Ferry yesterday.

Why did an post recently remove the location of items from the tracking information? I.e until a couple of months ago, the tracking information would say "Your item is being sorted for delivery at Athlone Mails centre" "Your item has arrived at Galway G.P.0" and so on but not anymore, i wonder why ?🤔🤔🤔

Hi all, are An Post delivering Fastway parcels now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 306 ✭✭ShayNanigan

Very frustrating having to wait for a delivery when usually it would've arrived by now and especially if it's something you need for Christmas. I think they've conveniently removed the location info from tracking to avoid having to explain possible mistakes. Just be happy for the service you get when you get it and stop asking us, that's sort of the feeling it gives you.

I checked on X and it's just filled with disgruntled An Post customers asking about their parcel that is either not moving at all, sorted but never in a van or being routed to a wrong delivery office. Or, the worst case scenario, being sent back to the sender. Doesn't exactly make you feel relieved but all we can do is wait.

I am wondering though if it makes sense to order anything more before Christmas if chances are it won't arrive on time.

No further updates on my item since the one on Tuesday. Unprompted, the seller contacted me to apologise for the delay and said they’ve contacted An Post.

My package arrived yesterday afternoon. Relieved.

I'm one of many who are anxiously awaiting for their orders that were supposed to arrive by Christmas… I only have one more arriving but it seems to take forever. It was sorted on Saturday so I was sure it would be here today. Nope. An Post tracking won't tell me much but since it came from Germany, DHL tracking tells me it is stuck at Portlaoise mail centre which I hear is a chaos right now. I really hope it will arrive tomorrow but there's really no telling it will.

It can still arrive by Christmas if it doesn't turn up tomorrow.

I have it on good authority that they are currently in absolute chaos and a lot of stuff is not going to be delivered before Xmas.

This is the tracking history of an important item, An Post have it since December 12th and have made a complete mess of the delivery. It has not been updated since the 19th and I am not expecting it to be delivered before Christmas.

Sent an item Express Post to the UK. Does anyone know why they'd be so many scans? It's still in the DMC

Recently left something behind in a London hotel which they have kindly posted to me, however An Post are looking for me to pay them €22 in customs fees for the parcel. I had to send a prepaid Royal mail label to the hotel for the parcel and (probably foolishly) filled in the details of what it was accurately (earpods, value €50). I found an email address for queries regarding customs charges which I emailed the email correspondence between hotel & I and the original receipt for the earpods which I still had (it's from 2022), however I have heard nothing back yet. I have to pay before 11 March or the parcel will be returned, so I have some time. Has anyone else any experience like this? Am I better off paying the customs and then trying to claim them back from Revenue? It's €15 VAT plus a €6.95 admin charge from AP.

    Hi ,

Can anyone tell me if its possible to post a device , a vape (commercial return) that has an integrated lithium iron batery inisde it with An post to Northern Ireland?

Item is new unopened in its box and battery would have zero charge . Battery is not removeable.

    What havent you seen before?

Your item has been handed to An Post?

I have seen that before. Think it just means someone went into a post office to send it
