there won’t be a cow milked in the area until at least Wednesday 🤣🤣

Great win for traditional ‘big ball’ club….the Fitzgeralds the backbone of the team…!

Those two final plays by Aussie were immense. Reminiscent of his fielding and scoring when he was HOTY. A reminder of the talent within. Please god he keeps going and shows us more of it at intercounty level next year. We need it!

Positive enough update by Peter Queally after the game

Have a list of players they'll be looking at and says a few of the current panel raring to go

agreed, we saw the genius of the man in full flow today

The reality is it’s still a long way back for him at senior intercounty level. If I was Queally you’d be having a ‘s**t or bust’ conversation with him ahead of the new season. he needs to commit to a proper training program over the winter and he needs to be ready to go from the start of the league to get him up to the pitch of championship. If he’s not willing to commit to that I think the game is up unfortunately. It clearly didn’t work this year as he wasn’t fit enough

anyway I’m sure the club is the sole focus at the moment and I’d love to see him get a county medal with mount sion

where was the De la salle marking for the first goal??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,809 ✭✭✭thesultan

as good as Gleesons hurling is , he looks heavy and his legs seemed gone from inter county this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 928 ✭✭✭Deskjockey

I think he was injured pretty much all year for the intercounty season and what we saw of him was him at 60%- if even. I'd still think that if he can get fit and injury free that he might still have a role to play with Waterford. Now maybe it is because he is overweight and has lots of miles on the clock that he keeps breaking down. But I'd be hopeful.

    Fingers crossed

Can anyone see Ozzie and Co doing what de la salle almost did next Sunday….?

A weeks supply of Crusty blaas with red lead and ketchup for the closest score prediction….to kick it off…..

Not a chance, any ounce of complacency that might have crept in when your after wining 60 odd games on the trot was flushed out of the system last Sunday.

    Ballygunner 2-23 Mount Sion 0-17

I thought the refereeing was shocking for the mount sion game. All manner of dangerous and loose tackling. You'd wonder why Walsh bothered bringing a whistle at all. I'm all for letting the game flow, but the refs job is to keep control.

    Are TG4 showing the final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 81 ✭✭cbwfd

With all the backroom teams being shaken up around the counties I wonder is there an opportunity to get Donal O'Rourke involved in the senior set-up. Queallys call I suppose.

Two attacked minded a coach. Their philosophies wouldn't align.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,681 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Didnt seem any hint of backroom changes when he was interviewed on TG4 after the Mount Sion game

Suppose it can be done in the background not needing CB approval or something

I still think Gleeson can contribute to Waterford, he is a superb hurler but bottom line is he needs to get the diet reeled in for the next 4/5 months. He is not in good enough shape. I know injuries haven’t helped but he has to take some blame there. Tbh if I was Waterford manager I would have him on a strict meal plan for the next while and if its not working then time to part ways because he doesnt want it enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,889 ✭✭✭Asdfgh2020

Alan Kissane is ref for the county final, if that’s what you were asking.

Official press release from county board, Eoin Kelly out as selector and Donal O'Rourke in to replace him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭DiscoStew

Hopefully it works out, will be interesting to see the dynamic. Didn’t feel like Kelly was offering a whole pile, certainly on match days anyway.

    Very happy with that tbh

Wow my conspiracy theory came to fruition. My next theory is that we are about to hit a golden age and will be the first team to complete the five in a row!
