    car looks great. Enjoy it.

Nice mark up on your Taycan. You paid 24k so theoretically you got 64k for it and now asking 75k.

Beautiful! Let me know if you have any glitches with your screen freezing up. Think I might have to bring mine back in to get looked at. It reboots but today it rebooted and sound didn't work untill I pulled in and restarted the car. First time it hasn't managed to reset itself within 20 secs or so. Have the car over a month and a half now and getting at least one reboot a week.

How are you finding the Macan now you have it a few weeks Mun1?

absolutely delighted with it . It doesn’t have the whiplash acceleration of the taycan, but way smoother with the acceleration (taycan has a second gear on back motor which gave a kick) the GUI is brilliant compared to the first gen taycan. The map function is very good and i find im not using CarPlay. Close enough to tesla IMO.

Interior quality is excellent , as expected, very modern compared to 1st gen taycan.

I took it for a few late night “spirited” drives on back roads and it has really impressive handling once you get to know the “tipping point”. The handling is almost as good as the taycan.

The rear wheel steering takes getting used to and I’ve parked in a couple of tight parking spaces, so far so good.

Consumption is running at 24kwh/100km at motorway speeds. Around town seems to hover around 18-19. Enjoying the opening sunroof in this weather around town.

That’s quite decent efficiency figures for a big lump of a car.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,179 ✭✭✭carsfan2

that’s all very positive. The efficiency sounds really good.
Porsche must be running a good few themselves as they have plenty of 251 cars with mileage on them for sale.
I think you did well on the trade in deal you got too.

Padraic in Flawless Detailing PPF’d a Turbo version recently. Every time I’m in there, there’s at least one Porsche getting done!

    That white looks very well.

Is it an all-over PPF wrap?

That looks fantastic, is there a non sportback version coming? I rather the shape of the Audi Q6 at the back

Looks amazing in turbo spec saw one up close last weekend!

I'd be surprised, it's quite like the previous macan body shape wise.

Turbo, on an EV, yes we’ve been here before Porsche, but I’d still happily take one 😀

Good review, it ticks a lot of boxes and looks great in that colour I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,179 ✭✭✭carsfan2

that very car is up for 130k on Carzone.

Very good review by Joe Achilles on YouTube too where he compares the turbo with a base Macan. Conclusion is base is all you need, with a few options obviously. It is a Porsche.

Seems to be a lot of used Macan EVs for sale only 7 months after release (relative to other models)?

Maybe they bought a lot of UK models in?

I am keeping an eye on the 251 Mac and for sale from Porsche Ireland and they seem to have a few cars up for sale for a while with the prices slowly being reduced. I am tempted that at the right money they make a reasonable buying choice?

How are the current owners getting on ? What sort of range are you getting and how has the ownership experience been?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 258 ✭✭Frankie19

Absolutely love mine. So much fun to drive. I'm getting about 430KM at an 80% charge.

Still have the odd screen freeze but not as frequent as it was. No issues other than that.

Renewed my insurance couple of months ago and shopped around. Found most of the sites didn't have the new Macan as a registered model and if they did they wouldn't quote me online. Had to ring them to get a quote which was annoying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,179 ✭✭✭carsfan2

that would imply a full range of about 520km?

I thought it would be closer to 600km.

They aren’t selling as well as I had expected at all new given the badge and the price.

I wonder has the Taycan depreciation made people wary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭joe1303l

I suspect the market here for €100K EV’s is very small no matter how good a Macan might be. New Taycan sales were never massive here either. A lot of Taycans here are UK imports. The Macan EV will probably be a popular import here too in 2-3 years. They’ll be half price and with minimal VRT to pay.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,179 ✭✭✭carsfan2

    you’re probably correct.

I thought however the badge might tempt a few out of Range Rover, Audi, BMW etc for similar outlay.

If the UK market shows massive depreciation then they will be good value here in time.

They get good reviews and look well too.
now at 75/80 k they are not a huge leap from a high spec VW etc.

cheapest Macan is currently €75k for a 251 demo in PCD. And it’s been for sale over 3 months.

They need further reducing to sell IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,387 ✭✭✭✭Cyrus

Has to have, don't see the Q6 Etron in great numbers either and thats a cheaper similar option.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,337 ✭✭✭✭User1998

Funnily enough they seem to be more expensive in the UK? This is the cheapest Macan available on Autotrader, it equates to over €76,000

When they will be clobbered over there is in 2 years time when they come off lease. I see a lot of ads for them on business leases here at lowish enough rates I'll try dig one out.
