Is it just me or is july looking worse than June which was worse than may? Make it make sense!

  • Moderators, Home & Garden Moderators Posts: 7,154 Mod ✭✭✭✭graememk

Yes it's been an extremely cloudy 2 months.

I've been out in it trying to get weather windows to get silage etc done,

    And may was extraordinary good.

i've had the full set of panels up and running since the 2nd of this month; 18 panels, currently at 826kWh for the month.

I'm about 10% up on last July in Cork, on course to overtake June too.

Just broke 1MWh for the month, previous 2 July's were in the 800's. Definitely didn't "feel" like a sunny July. Based in the NW.

First full proper month for me.

21 panel array. 13 south facing, 8 north facing. 9.66kWp. Cork City.

1.09MWh produced and still pulling 3.8kW at 18:10 in the evening.

7.79kWp South facing, Co. Waterford, no battery.

Ground mount has 12 panels, 7 on the shed.

A strange month for me. Only the shed panels were working from 1st to 4th. Issue resolved on 4th. In or around the 10th I subsequently adjusted for the first time the ground mount from 50 degrees to the optimal 14 degrees for July.

As a result I smashed last year's July generated figure despite output being limited for the first 4 days. If I pro rata the missing production the generated figure would be 950kWh, close to 175kWh more than July 2024 or the equivalent of an extra €35 in FIT.

A net value of €85 in FIT generated this month.

    July 2025

    Screenshot_20250731-231342~2.png

    July 2024

    Screenshot_20250731-231429~2.png

A record month and a record day when I generated 49.8kWh on one particular day.

I reckon I could have generated 1MWh if I had all 19 panels working for the full month at the optimal angle.

Decent enough month for me in South Dublin City with 6.5kWp split East/West.

    image.png

6% up on last year and 6% over PVGIS. What's not to like!

Month was going great guns for the 1st half, and then it's sort of tapered off. Still, it set an all time high for July.

The Shed (2.3Kwp south) chipped in 261kwh, so a total of 905Kwh for the month. I'll take it, esp when I consider I get ~150kwh or so in December!

    542 kWh on south south-east 4.4kWp.

Not a bad month overall but May was so good that I was expecting a bit more in June and July.

Still, €55 credit which should cover the next two month’s gas bills so can’t complain.

    For July:

799kWh generated - 6.72kW system facing ESE in South Dublin.

    304kWh consumed.

Generation similar to July 2024 (789kWh) and up a bit on June 2023 (756kWh).

In July, self-used 26% of electricity generated and fed in the other 592kWh (no battery).

Since initial installation on March 7 2023, a total of 19.71MWh generated, 13.75MWh fed to grid, with a self-use ratio of approximately 30.3%.

You seem to have had problems with the South string for some time, the 3.9kWp string outputted 2.41MWh in 2020 which is only 63% of the PVGIS number of 3.824Mwh but you did get 3.26MWh in 2022, 85.3% of the PVGIS number.

Your year 2024, North 4.0kWp string performed very well at 2.24MWh, 8.5%better than the PVGIS number of 2.064MWh. In general it seems that most installations here seem to exceed the PVGIS outputs by ~ 10%.

Solid month. An additional 70kWh produced over and above August 2024's figure, somewhat offset by higher consumption this year. €51 net credit generated.

PVGIS predicted 820kWh so slightly off that.
