Did you get a granny charger with yours?

I only got a type 2 cable and emergency kit.

No granny charger, no tyre repair kit etc. it doesn't even have a jack. At least I can't find it. Only took in the whole thing is in the tow hook in the frunk.

I definitely didn’t get a Jack and this my second Tesla. Is the granny charger a 3 pin plug ? If so I didn’t get that either.

That's correct, what you got .No point in giving a jack when you've no spare wheel.

You don't get a jack, or granny charger. You only get the emergency kit and public charge cable…a blue one 🤮.

I have a granny charger anyway and I keep a plug kit and compressor in my boot.

Used to be included for free but not any more

These are not items that come with the car. If you want a granny charger it’s an optional extra (€200) although I doubt whether many will justify that expenditure. I am on 3rd Tesla and have never once used granny charger

No granny charger. It was removed during one of the price cut rounds. It’s the best way to twice the cost and if one in 10 need it, let them pay for it while keeping the cost down for everyone else. #ryanair!

No jack either. I haven’t got one with any car since 2008. The bmw removed them in the E60 and you had to buy it as part of the spare wheel kit. Then for the F10, they removed that option altogether.

Is there a known way to get rid of the cabin camera blocked message without unblocking the camera? I didn't have that message in my Model 3 and the camera was covered for almost all of my ownership of 3 years. It can't be a recent SW update, because I've only been out of the M3 for a couple of weeks. Or is it just a Highland/Juniper thing?

Following up on this. Autosteer was disabled today for a good half hour. Car doesn't like the cabin cam blocked, but this was the first instance of being locked out of AP. The Model 3 had no issue with the cam covered, but this Autosteer Beta is a real PITA that wants to see not just the road, but my ugly mush and where my eyeballs are pointed.

Putting the car into park and rebooting did nothing. It started working again after a while and after a supercharge session, but disabled again for the last 15 minutes of an hour long drive later this evening. I'm only guessing it was because I was wearing sunglasses, but I'm not sure. I hope to see improvements here soon and ideally I would like to be able to keep the cam covered, like I always have in the M3. One observation was that when the cam is not blocked, the steering wheel is much more sensitive and requires less force to keep the blue flashing away.

No issue with sunglasses today. I don't know why it side-lined me the second time yesterday. I probably wouldn't mind the occasional beep when I take my eyes off the road to adjust the aircon for a few seconds while in AP, but the risk of strikes is what makes it unpalatable. I got 2 strikes the first day they upgraded the SW for the M3. After that, I closed the cabin cover and left it that way. Juniper doesn't like cabin camera being blocked.

Has anyone seen any Magsafe mounts that fit in to the stock wireless charger?

iPhone 16 Pro Max user here, and had similar issues in my 3 where the phone won't charge in any orientation on the stock chargers, and the odd time it does make a bit of a connection, all it does it heat the phone up.

Had a MagBack charger for the screen, but didn't like the phone constantly being in my FOV, so removed it in the M3.

Ive an iPhone 16 Pro Max, in a relatively slim case, and it wont charge in the old MY. I was in the new shape last week and it charged no problem, so obviously some differences there. I'm assuming its to do with the camera projection and then the case which adds a mm or 2.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,887 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

the only way it will charge in the MY or the wifes M3, is to take the case off and turn the phone upside down, and that's a bit of a rigmarole, just to get a few % charge every time :(

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 40,983 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

Yeah, a nuisance. I don't actually charge mine now but if I had to, that's what id have to do.

not really a fan of wireless charging pads any, no need to be constantly charging phones, easier have a usb c cable in the storage area if you really need a charge.

Same issue here. My iPhone would rarely charge with the case on in the Model 3, but in the new MY, it charges no issue.

Same with me on an android, charges no problem even with case in Tavascan but very finicky in R5.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 162 ✭✭reaction238

It's poor that you cannot disable wireless charging so you can still use the pad to hold your phone.

Bur happily i have no issues with a large Samsung s24 Ultra in its case.

Putting the phone face down does the job if you don’t want it to charge on the wireless charger. The car screen shows the time. You can take calls and messages from the screen.

I ordered the Tesla mattress. I had looked around at a few other options but they were more expensive and didn't really fit properly. I liked that the Telsa one is a bit thinner. Will see how I get on with it. Just need some window shades now and I can sleep in the car out in the driveway 😂

I couldn't justify buying one. I would get too used to sleeping in the car after lunch.

Strictly a 1-person, or 1-person and their dog operation, definitely not enough room for 2 adults.

    Still have the scars.

Decathlon single air mattress works fine for an individual and you only have to drop the 60 split in the rear seat. The Y has decent head room and it can all be set up from within after giving Fido his evening walk and jumping in quickly to avoid the mozzies. Blackout window screens are essential. I usually leave the parcel shelf where it is; it's a handy place to leave my phone and a few other bits and pieces.

I'm waiting on SC credits from a referral. I can see it was delivered and it's been escalated. I got my loyalty credit and my wall charger has been shipped and sold to a boardsie.
