I'm trying to understand how people can be so biased. It has to be either ideology by choice or a deep lack of understanding of the situation.

Not likely, unless they want to be the star of "Team America 2: Axis of Assholes" they will likely keep provoking, get their shít slapped then eventually relent and throw in the towel once they realise they gotta take the L's in order to just stay alive.

Hey, come on. You'd have to be a real moron to have fallen for a trick like that by Netanyahu. I mean, you'd have to be a real "spell your own name wrong" moron.

    Oh....

How do you know Trump didn't want to do this? Sure he made one of his kids Jewish and the Israeli's probably strongly backed his election campaign. As far as I'm concerned he's team Israel from day 1 and doesn't need any convincing.

As of now it's ballistic program covers Israel but there were plans I believe to develop missile's with an 8k range.

I'm not sure continuing to pursue a nuke is a good idea. Israel and the US have wiped out a nuclear program that took decades to get to this point. Air defences badly compromised and their air force crippled. Their allies (Russia) not helping. Drone and ballistic facilities damaged or destroyed. Multiple top army commanders and scientists kaput. They have them by the balls. The regime must feel like they've awoken from their worst nightmare.

Mossad and other intelligent agencies will know if they try to rebuild the program in persuit of the bomb. Why would they let it happen and reach this point again.

Iran has a few options but nuclear fantasies shouldn't be one of them.

Watch what happens now. Iran will go after Saudi Arabia and Qatar and all other USA friendly nations in the area. We could have a full on Gulf war in six months time.

China and Russia will back Iran.

Trump makes decisions based on money. He doesn't care about anything else.

I'd get banned for saying what I really think of him.

Yeah, Netanyahu fairly got behind Trump in the last few months of the election after Harris tried to take a position on Israel that tried to please everyone and ended up pleasing no one.

People forget that the son in law still has Trump's ear and he's got to be one of the most pro-Israel individuals in Trump's royal court.

    https://www.reuters.com/world/china/us-urges-china-dissuade-iran-closing-strait-hormuz-2025-06-22/

The US asking China to talk to Iran to persuade them not to close the Strait of Hormuz. I can't imagine China would be too willing to help the US after the tariff war!

The nuclear threat is a Israeli fantasy to keep the US interested. The US thinks it's Tom Cruise saving the world.

More likely Israel is running low on arms with it's genocide campaign in Gaza so needed to create a way to suck the US back in, hence their attack on Iran.

Explain this to me. Why do they have such high enrichment levels and don't cooperate with the IAEA?

Why does Ukraine only have enrichment levels from 3-5% and fully cooperative with the IAEA?

Iran may still have most of the fissile material they've been able to manufacture. We can be fairly sure they got it out of Fordow. I have to think they did the same at their other facilities as well. They may be set back but not quite to square one.

I'm sure the Iranian regime would like to rethink their stance on Israel and just get on with things, but it's a central tenet of their platform.

Good point and it looks like the Americans waited until they'd potentially cleared the uranium from Fordow? Potentially to stop nuclear material leaking out. Next lost the means to develop it for now but what's next. Will the US/Israel demand it be handed over or will they track it and try take it by force?

The new railway link between China and Iran started last month. Alternative routes would be through Afghanistan / Pakistan.

China buys 90% of Iran's oil exports in spite of US sanctions.

No I can't see China doing Trump's masters bidding.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,893 ✭✭✭Wolf359f

Well China is lucky no county is bombing Iran right now…. Israel can easily put an end to that railway.

But that 90% from Iran is only 16% of their total imports. 1.8 mil out of 11.8 mil barrels. China also have a strategic reserve of 400 mil barrels, so they can go without Iranian oil for quite some time.

You're the one that brought "tHe lEfT" into the conversation and you speak of ideologies.

Check your own house first, before you try and comment on others.

    DONAKD

Anyone that can't spell his own name or, at the very least, spell check it shouldn't be in the position that he's in.

Christ, I'm more careful when I make decisions in a computer game.

Looks like Tulsi Gabbard might be pushed overboard:

“As we stand here today, closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before,” she says in the video.

The clip continues, with Gabbard warning that "political elites and warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear and tension between nuclear powers."

Trump reportedly had a problem with her comments. According to sources who spoke to the Times, Trump took Gabbard's video as a sign she was only using her time in his White House as a stepping stone. He reportedly told her if she wanted to run for president then she shouldn't be in his administration.

His issues with Gabbard — who according to CBS was among the officials in the Situation Room Saturday — became more obvious after Trump was forced to respond to testimony she gave in March in which she said Iran was not pursuing nuclear weapons through its refinement efforts.

Feel free to counter rather than get side tracked over the world Left.

The discussion about the abortion and divorce referendum was quickly dropped. You can't make an argument about progressive rights of that Islamic regime and ignore all the brutality. It's at a point like that I start questioning are people on the far left. Because it's so obvious wrong and ridiculous to say. Anyway, no counter arguments have been made you'll hear from me if someone can formulate one not based off feelings but fact.

Take a wild guess where most of the oil from gulf goes to?

    That’s right, China

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,927 ✭✭✭✭Tony EH

They're not arguments that I made and I'm not about to start defending talking points I didn't even bring up.

The point I made was about Mossadegh, the Shah and the outside actors (US/UK) that were at play with regards to the internal politics of Iran…

…and you replied with "tHe lEfT".

You don't even know which poster you're talking to, so we really are done at this point.

Pete Hegseth made a BIG DEAL about all the planning that went into the B52s / bunker busting bombs and attacking IRAN. We all knew that something was up over a week ago - that The US was preparing.
so why was it necessary to fly some bombers over the pacific for decoy reasons m turn off responders, etc, etc, etc, when Israel and the US declared some time ago that Israel had achieved complete control over the Iran skies and knocked out all of its air defence setups. I was reminded of the concept of breaking a nut with a sledgehammer but a steamroller was used here by the US. The US said that it used 75 planes in the operation and NONE of them were were shot down - hard to believe this and is it because it is true that Israel had completely neutralised IRANS air defence capabilities

Also BiBi needs war to stay out of Jail. He has put off his cross exam in his trial for as long as possible. Got out of his last 2 appearances by suddenly being sick and having to take a important diplomatic call.

I asked the enrichment question a while ago & no one answered because there isn't an answer. They have enriched way above the level needed unless you are trying to build a bomb.

"Iran is the place it is today precisely because of interference by outside actors. The same outside actors that are banging on about "regime change" once again."

The biggest outside actors who created regime change for the Persians were the Islamic arabs which is still effecting them till today , thanks to the 1979 revolution which was assisted by left wing activists.

You ignored this point and focused on left wingers because you know it's true. We're done here because you've nothing to say.

At the same time @yagan acting like it's been a good thing because Sharia and Islam allow abortions and divorce.
