For perhaps not the first time in the last two years Kinnerk and Kiely were out thought by the opposition. Every time a Dublin player got the ball they took their man on and ran the legs off him. Finally puts to bed the notion the Dubs can't hurl under pressure. Next day out will be a huge test for them in every department. Just brilliant for the game Leinster and Munster. Limerick have been unbelievable champions over the past seven years and not the first to pay the penalty for sticking with the same. Bringing on Declan Hannon ,one of their greatest really cost them as the legs are gone and Dublin exploited the lack of pace down the middle. Removing Aidan O'Connor was a strange one also as the "Bull" didn't look fit. Was surprised Colin Coughlan wasn't introduced. Lots for them to ponder but certainly wouldn't write them off for next year.

VVery Poor support in the park today.hopefully the crowd will come in early in croker to support them in the quarter final.like to see Claire Doheny given a run in the forwards and she scored 3pts in croker last year in the inter final. Got to start creating goal chances and add pace up frontt

ticket prices were outrageous for a standalone fixture to be honest. The fans voted with their feet.

Great point re Limericks bench. All the sh!te about the depth of their panel and they taking hammerings in the league with those players, it just didn't add up. Then the 'oh they're in a heavy block of training' excuses came out. The writing was on the wall for Limerick, I saw someone say 4 wins in 14 games this year. Was yesterday that big a shock? Definitely the end of an era, and an aura.

it was telling that despite their struggles all over the field, O'Brien was only introduced late, no sign of Coughlan, and Byrnes was left to struggle on yet again. Flanagan ignored again also. Lynch and Morrissey both did the same disappearing trick as they did against Cork. Hayes the same although he was never in it really. The final desperate act by Kiely/Kinnerk was trying to replicate the 4 in a row team by moving a clearly Hannon to 6, and Hayes to 7.

Hard Road back for that team, might see a few retirements. Tipp and Cork look the future in Munster, Clare as well when these underage teams come through.

Incredible, super human energetic performance by Dublin today in front of a huge Dublin crowd. Makes you wonder about the role of large fan support in teams delivering peak performance. Kilkenny's peak performances despite relatively poor fan support speaks to other factors. If we had the same support as Munster teams or Dublin today, I suspect we would see much higher levels of performance.

This great Limerick team were lower energy than expected today. That's 3 losses in a row after their blowout peak performance v Cork a few weeks ago. Reminds me of the great Kilkenny 72-76 team. Injuries robbed them of 4 in a row. Blowout performance v Clare in the league final was followed by very low energy performances and an early exit from the Leinster championship.

Two other issues/ questions from comparing this great Limerick team 2024-2025 performances vs the great Kilkenny 2005-2015 teams. Does early development result in earlier burnout? Is the running game too attritional on legs, knees, hips, energy etc. vs direct ball and touch, aerial ability and alertness, great speed off the mark, etc? Time will tell with this great Limerick team. But Cody's Kilkenny team's performance from 1999 to 2022 are now looking extraordinary. No money, just a calm, intelligent, passionate back room team who coaxed a great cohort of skillful players to play into their mid-thirties, overcome serious injuries ( Shefflin had 4 serious injuries; extraordinary resilience, determination and on field leadership) and win 11 all irelands, 7 ? League-AI doubles, and deliver so many superlative performances.

They ve used the same 8 players in the back 6 since 2018 give or take

Players have been converted into backs and shuffled around back there

There has been no fresh young exciting defender to fill a corner or wingback slot like cork tipp or Waterford have had in resent times

They looked like a team that had been on the road a long time very reminiscent of when Dublin beat kk in 13 or when Galway beat us in 12 it’s like stepping back in time when things were starting to slip with kk

They could play brilliantly for spells but not on a consistent basis anymore

13 in the park v Tipp was the best atmosphere I have ever been at.despite all the injuries leading up to game.tjecrowd came out and roared the team on.we need that passionately support to come out in 2 weeks time. Its Tipp in camogie and hurling let's get behind the teams and help make a difference.

Kilkenny have waited for this game since 2019. Revenge surely is on their minds after the battering they took

Only 6 of the starting team plus Billy Ryan as a sub are involved today who took part that day. It looks like Tipp only have 7 as well including Jake Morris and Willie Connors who were subs on the day. For the players that game should be irrelevant, whatever about supporters

Did we have a League Final in Nowlan Park against Tipp in 2013 too? I seem to remember we did, 2 super games in terms of atmosphere and what was on the line.

We did ,JJ sent off in the second half.…great times, although 14 beating them in extra time in league final in Thurles and replay in All Ireland was special.

Absolutely not, it was an electric kk crowd, so much so that Nicky English changed his prediction from tipp to kilkenny just before throw in simply because the atmosphere in the ground was so energized. It was a remarkable day, as much craic as some of the all Irelands the previous few years, partly because I think we knew we were unlikely to win it all that year. We finally showed that team we appreciated what they did. The nore bar after it was one of the best times I ever had with my father, he still talks about the lads playing the trumpet outside the door if the pub at the tipp fans going home.

If all our matches were like that we would be a force to be reckoned with.

Couldn't agree more, the fans really rallied to the team that day and showed what they meant to kilkenny supporters. Have to try and recreate that connection between team and fans.

I think the Tipp match up might hopefully ignite a bit of excitement amongst Kilkenny supporters at last. We will definitely be outnumbered but that's par for the course down the years.

Limericks dominance over the past 5 years has been a bit of a shadow over the Championship. It seemed a little irrelevant how well teams played, because Limerick always lurked in the background, and if they performed, they'd inevitably win. That's gone now for good. Cork are very decent, but they have their demons, and they're certainly no Limerick. Every team left will really fancy their chances now.

Lads you're very hard on the Co Board, please remember that they're all volunteers doing their best. As regards to the supporters there are certain ones that can't go me included. In regards to the stewards around the ground they've taken a hit in their numbers also, they've lost some long term members.

I've always attended the games due to ill health the last few years it's not possible financially to go support, especially with the extra games.

Best of luck to the lads in the semi final. As regards to our underage teams they've been badly let down by management, hell of a lot of good hurlers out there not getting a chance with the county set up.

Colin Coughlan is even slower than Hannon, turns like a bus, winter hurler and Kiely rarely plays him in the big knockout matches.

Limericks 4 in a row team was built on a phenomenal half back line of Byrnes, Hannon and Hayes and 2 of them are now finished. They don’t have the replacements for them.
